Top 3 lesbian Tv drama EVER!

The L Word

Yes, I am aware that most of you have already seen this, but nevertheless, I thought I needed to inform the readers who haven't, and for those of you who should watch it again. It's not like there's much to see anyway.

The L Word was the breakthrough for lesbian drama that ran from 2004 to 2009.

The best 5 years, 1 month, and 19 days for lesbians. (No, it did not run every single day but the anticipation for the next episode kept us going.)

So here is the basic plot: Lesbian . Sure, it had a lot of story lines going, but it was mainly the "who slept with who" deal, and believe me, a lot of people slept with a lot of other people.

A lot.

No, but really, here is the basic plot: A group of friends in West Hollywood (Yes, what other place would be swarming with lesbians?) who all have their own problems and drama, yet they are all connected through their bonds of friendship. I'm not sure if you can have a "main character" because they all get their own storylines, but I personally think that Bette Porter, played by Jennifer Beals, and Tina Kennard, played by Laurel Holloman are the "big dogs" of the show. They go through a lot. And I mean A LOT of stuff through the whole six seasons of the series. Their story is so greatly written and played by their actresses that it will bring you to tears and laughs, chuckles and even sobs through its entirety. Actually, you will probably experience that with every storyline, because there is a lot of them.

It must be "The L Word Effect."

I won't go ruining and spoiling anything for you lovely ladies, (and guys if any of you are reading,) but it is definitely a story worth watching. It captures most aspects of the lesbian drama. Literally. It has coming out to parents, falling in love, having your heart broken, falling back in love, and the whole circle of love that goes round an' round. So if you're looking for something that will keep you entertained for 58.333333333333336 hours. (I googled the time conversion, so I'm sure it's right,) then you shall buy "The L Word."

South of Nowhere

South of Nowhere ran from 2005 to 2008 for 3 seasons that captured our hearts. I began watching it when one of my best friends, a gay dude should I say, told me about it. I was a little embarrassed that he had to be the one to tell me,  about a lesbian show, but oh well, I still became OBSESSED with it.

The main characters in this are Spencer Carlin, played by hotness Gabrielle Christian, and Ashley Davies, played by equally hot Mandy Musgrave. Taking place in Los Angeles, (California again? Geez, are you seeing a pattern or is it just me?) Spencer is the "New Girl-in-Town" who befriends "bad-" Ashley. They begin a friendship that soon turns into romantic love when Spencer realizes she's gay. Ashley, whose uality is not clear being as how she is the "no-label-girl," falls in love with Spencer which takes them through the rollercoaster of love, with its ups and downs and swirling turns.

The two girls must go through not only the issues a teenager does, which are already hard, but must also go through coming out to parents, (which believe me, THAT scene was really something else,) and the rejection of a homophobic society. Along with that, add onto it the hardships of a relationship and you have a juicy drama that will keep you at the edge of your seat!

South of Nowhere was created by "The N," so it is aimed primarily for teenagers, but it is definitely good for any age group above teens. The bad side of it is that there aren't explicit scenes, but that's why "The L Word" was created right?

So my main point is that if you have 14.666 hours of your life that you wish to fill with a story that will remain with you for the rest of your life, then I recommend you buy this one. It is so definitely worth it.

Sugar Rush

Have any of you ever read the book "Sugar Rush" by Julie Burchill? If you have then you will love this series, if you haven't read it, you will love this series and then go buy the book. Because it's that good.

Sugar Rush is a British drama that aired from 2005 to 2006 for 2 seasons. YES! I SAID BRITISH! This means you get 10 whole hours of listening to y British accent! And when I say y I MEAN Y! (Please, tell me I'm not the only one who thinks British accents are y.)

The story revolves around Kimberly Daniels, played by Olivia Hallinan, and her best friend Maria "Sugar" Sweet, portrayed by Lenora Crichlow. The first season is all about Kim's obsession over Sugar, who in my opinion, is a dirty who only wants one thing in life: , drugs, and alcohol. Well, that's three things but whatever, you get my point. Kim becomes literally obsessed in pleasing Sugar in hopes that her love will be returned. They have their moments, which I won't deny are quite sweet, but it is mostly sad to see this. It really captures the feeling of being in love with someone who will never reciprocate your feelings. And I'm sure we have ALL been there at least once in life. Then after a lot of drama and fun, we are given the second season which, in my opinion, beats the first by a mile.

By the second season Kim is a "full-grown-lesbian" ready to get her game on. Well, it's 18 months after the end of the first season where she is 15, so if my math is right, which it might not be since I'm not googling it up like the other numbers, she must be around sixteen or seventeen. But either way, Kim is looking for love and finds it in the most unexpected place: a female-oriented shop. How fun is that?

I'll leave it up to you to see how her love trials go, which are quite heartfelt moments that I am sure you will be able to relate to one way or another. This series, which I watched in a whole weekend, (yeah...I guess I really don't have a life. But I call it research,) is packed with moments that will make you go "Awwww," or will make you LOL. It has everything from giving your mom an STD, (and no, don't take that the wrong and gross way, it's actually in a hilarious manner that it happens but I'll let you see that yourself,) to very, and I mean very, dysfunctional families.

So if you've ever fallen in love with someone who broke your heart, or happen to have swingers as your parents, then you should definitely buy "Sugar Rush." It has something for everyone to relate to. And although this is about a teenage girl, I don't think it is safe for kids to watch.

Because there's . Not too much but it is definitely there.

All kinds.

But fun nonetheless ;)
