At first glance, you would think Miwon is a quiet, easily intimidated girl by her size. But in truth, Miwon is a really blunt, abrupt – perhaps a bit rude – and tough person. Miwon grew up loving cars, and working hands on. She was never the brightest when it came to school, but when you put it with anything car related, she’d automatically become some sort of genius. She doesn’t look strong but working with cars all the time has made her very physically strong and a bit scary if you ask me. To the average person, she seems shy and meek because the world is just made up of people who judge by appearance, but you should think twice before underestimating this girl. She aspires to be a mechanic and wants to be around cars forever if she could.

Miwon is quite boyish with the way she acts. She puts her feet up on furniture, she burps and belches loudly without a care in the world and laughs about it. She is a free spirit and doesn’t like to be told what to do. She can follow orders when she’s working, but otherwise in her classes and such, she doesn’t have a care in the world and just listens when she finds something interesting. Miwon likes to stand out in a crowd and hates to be just another boring person on the streets which is why she keeps her hair a bright fiery red. Nothing seems to upset this girl except…her best friend. Although she doesn’t acknowledge her feelings for him at first, she feels an undeniable jealousy when she knows he has been out sleeping with some girl. When you’ve been around a guy since birth, you are bound to get a little too attached to him. She is just considered one of the guys and doesn’t care too much about her physical appearance to them. When she goes out yeah she likes to stand out but she doesn’t care if she looks pretty or not. She doesn’t bother with even concealer. She throws on whatever she grabs first and really she shouldn’t care because she works in a garage. Though quite frankly she has a strange liking for overalls and men’s shirts, likes to roll up the overall pant legs and wear it loose with a nice big shirt underneath. Her vision isn’t the greatest either so she wears her glasses all the time. Her hair is always a mess so she just puts it up in a messy bun or ponytail. She really does always look like a train wreck and can easily be deemed a fashion terrorist.

This girl who doesn’t care about her outer appearance has for whatever reason been asked out one too many times. She is quick to reject people who ask her out but is very nice about it. The usual Miwon doesn’t care about how others feel about her, she doesn’t care about their opinions of her since she knows the gist of all their thoughts “she’s rude.” “she’s not a girl” everyone pretty much thinks she’s the freak who only has cars to be her friends. But when she has to reject someone she does it nicely because her intentions were never to hurt people’s feelings. She basically doesn’t get along with girls because her best friend is so popular at the school, and it really does come as a wonder why he and her are so close when they seems so very different.

Miwon likes to fight head on. She doesn’t believe that hiding is an option. She is a tough kid and won’t let anyone bring her down. She doesn’t start fights, but is very protective of those who she considers close to her. The few friends that she has call her their bodyguard. At the garage they have a joke which says that she’s their bodyguard as well. She earned this when she flipped a loan shark out of the garage for getting all up in the owner’s face. “She’s a brute but she’s cute” which is the way they describe her. She has guts and isn’t afraid to stand up for those around her when she feels something isn’t right. Her straightforward personality often gets her in trouble, but it doesn’t faze her.

Miwon is quite the charmer though. She has a charming personality and always seems to be able to put a smile on a person’s face. She is extremely lame and doesn’t mind being lame because it’s just who she is. She doesn’t have anything against anyone – even those who don’t like her – as long as they don’t do anything to directly harm her for no reason. She gets really annoyed with people who pull useless stunts just to get attention and she herself doesn’t want any attention – wanting to stand out in a crowd because she doesn’t want to be grouped with society’s bigots doesn’t make her an attention seeker. She doesn’t mind that people think she’s a dork. Her love for video games, the arcade and comic books are no secret to anyone, though it does come as a surprise that she has an odd love for stuffed animals.

Now, you would think that she’s out late at night partying like the rest of the Post-Secondary students. But you’d be wrong since she’s really just staying extra hours at the garage. She wouldn’t even ask to get paid because of her love for cars. She sees it as a privilege to be around them. She has school so she doesn’t get to be around them as much as she wants which is why she stays extra hours sometimes. She has the ability to name the model, brand, what rims, the tires and all the details of a car just by looking at the car. People find her strange because she immediately runs to a car that catches her eye and begins analyzing it.

Overall, Miwon is a very get-to-the-point person and hates beating around the bush. She is impatient and impulsive and has a lethal temper. With the strength she has developed working at a garage she really isn’t one you would want to bother. Short and skinny looking doesn’t mean weak and fragile. She is anything but lazy and likes to get up early to work. The most important things in life to her are cars and her best friend. She doesn’t get along with her family much because they think her dream is silly and don’t support her love for cars. Being a child raised with many siblings, it never really mattered what she did simply because she was better off on her own if they weren’t going to help her succeed in life.

History:

Let’s start from when she was born. Miwon was never really rich, nor was she poor she was just living an average life. She grew up with a boy named Lu Han who was the son of her parents’ best friend. She grew up acting like a boy because she would always play with him and ignored her younger sister and her mother’s attempts at making her a nice girl. Her younger sister had always like Lu Han and would follow the two of them around whenever they went to the park or just to his house to play games – they were even neighbors.

Every summer since she could remember, Miwon and Lu Han went to her uncle’s house. Miwon’s uncle was a mechanic and always had a different car he was working on. Lu Han was fascinated, but Miwon was beyond that. All the different models, colours and sizes of cars had given her an unnatural love for cars. Of course it wasn’t approved of by her mother.

Her mother had always wanted Miwon to become a girly girl like her younger sister. She wanted to be able to dress her up in dresses and pretty hair accessories, but Miwon had always run to the boys’ section when they were shopping, looking for clothes which were easy to move in.

As they left elementary and middle school, entering high school, Miwon hadn’t changed and was often bullied for being such a boy. She didn’t care and just stuck by Lu Han and their small group of friends. They were the ‘Losers’ and Lu Han could have been part of the ‘Popular’ crowd, but he didn’t care about that, he stuck by his friends to the very end. The school wasn’t all that great, but and the food was mediocre which was what inspired Miwon to cook – the only thing her mother approved of, really. She would make lunch for her and Lu Han every day.

Lu Han’s parents were quite fond of Miwon and didn’t mind that she was boyish and found her quite adorable. They were thankful that she kept him out of the negative influence his other peers at school would have given him.

As they left high school and entered university, things changed a bit. Miwon moved out because she was tired of fighting with her parents. Her mother wanted her to be a doctor of some sort and her father had really given up hope on her and gave all his attention to her older brother and younger sister. Her older brother thought it was cool that she wasn’t like their younger sister since he wanted a brother and Miwon was as close as it got.

Lu Han enrolled in the same university as her so he moved into her apartment with her as well. It wasn’t awkward between the two of them simply because their friendship was one that not many could be able to hold up. They saw each other less frequently despite living together because Lu Han liked to go out at night, and even Miwon liked to go out and work in the garage overtime. They enjoyed just being home together and watching a movie or playing a video game together. They had always been close and it didn’t change. If anything, living together brought them closer together.

Miwon’s first real solo job at the garage was on a bright red Lamborghini – the owner was fond of her and gave her the job saying the car reminded him of her. Little did she know…working on that car would change her life forever…

Miwon and Lu Han were forced to move out of their apartment because Sideswipe was contacted and told that they'd need to be in New York. So the couple drove stylishly in the red Lamborghini all the way to New York City where they got an apartment equal distance from Juilliard (where Lu Han transferred) and Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology. And that is how they found themselves in New York. Miwon still stays in contact with all her frineds from Detroit at the garage and has found herself a job at a garage where she starts up her usual overtime routines again. 

Family:

• Nam Jinho | 45 (March 29^th 1967) | father
  • There isn’t much to say about this man. Jinho is a fairly simple man who doesn’t think too much about others. He is too concerned about his own family and problems to worry about others. He is a very likeable guy but he never seems to smile properly outside of home. He doesn’t like going out and even works from his home office. He always keeps an eye on his son, and lets his wife take care of the girls. He isn’t particularly fond with Miwon’s idea to become a mechanic and always tried to get her into other things like becoming an accountant. After several attempts, he gave up on her. He didn’t acknowledge her when she spoke about her dream but did listen when she spoke about the different cars.
• Nam (nee Han) Yujin | 45 (May 30^th 1967) | mother

  • Yujin is a girly woman. She doesn’t approve of her daughter Miwon’s behaviour and tries her best to change her. When it doesn’t work, she became angry and hateful. She likes going out with friends for tea, and shopping, and all that jazz but when she comes home to see her daughter, she becomes upset and yells at her. She was quite happy when Miwon decided to move out and focused her time on Aewon, putting her in pageants and such. She likes to doll up and look pretty which isn’t wrong, she’s just a little too obsessed with it. She is shallow and Miwon calls her delusional. Yujin considers Lu Han’s mother her best friend and had always dreamed that one day one of her daughters would marry Lu Han and then she’d get to be sisters with her best friend. But with Miwon the way she is, Yujin is always meddling into her life and getting Aewon to spend more time with Lu Han. 

     

• Nam Jinwon | 21 (January 2^nd 1991) | older brother
  • Jinwon is…you could say he’s the typical jock. He excels in all sports, and doesn’t have a care in the world for anything else. His parents think he’s going to be some sort of famous athlete, he’s got girls fawning all over him, and he’s considered just about perfect in everything. Well, everything minus the brains department. The guy can do just about everything that doesn’t involve being smart. He is in university on scholarship and oh boy he is not doing too well in school. Luckily enough for him he has a cute tutor and is talented enough to keep him in school. Unlike the rest of the family, he doesn’t mind that Miwon is a tomboy. He likes having her as the brother he never had and treats her like a guy too.
• Nam Aewon | 19 (February 15^th 1993) | younger sister

  • You could call her the jealous younger sister. She has had a crush on Lu Han ever since she started school, and hated Miwon for being so close to him. When middle school came around she decided that she needed to beat Miwon at everything. She was more popular, the prettier one, the one that everyone liked and hated. To this day she continues to try to woo Lu Han who considers her like his little sister rather than an actual woman. 

• Han Yujae | 45 (May 30^th 1967) | uncle
  • Despite the fact that they’re twins, Yujae and Yujin are polar opposites. He is a very carefree man and is very successful now with his car repair shop. He is very caring towards Miwon and treats her like his own daughter. He and his pregnant wife, Mihae, are similar in that sense, loving Miwon. In fact, Miwon thinks of her uncle and aunt as more of her parents then she does with her normal parents. Yujae is compassionate and supportive and really is a family man type of guy. He is able to support his family well enough because of his success and feels like he’s the luckiest guy in the world.

Personality:

The angelic faced pretty boy who seems almost too innocent. In truth, Lu Han has naughty side to him and uses his face as bait to get girls. He is very aware of himself and knows what power he holds against the females who swoon over him. He is very open about everything and isn’t afraid of anything either. He is extremely funny and isn’t afraid to show the cute side of him that uses aegyo on Miwon to get what he wants. He’s honest and talkative, and kind of a er for romance. He is that guy you want by your side at all times because there seems never to be a dull moment when he’s around. A music major at his school and a little too popular, he isn’t the type that will get girlfriends easily, just girls. He believes in love and doesn’t date because he feels like he needs to know a person for a long time to be able to fall for them. When he’s with that special someone, his world feels full and he will follow her to hell if he could. This boy though is anything but an angel so that shouldn’t be too hard. He doesn’t date but he has had his fair share of partners in terms of . He’s still a man, and a university man at that. He would drop that all if he fell in love but up to date he has never fallen in love and can only dream about it. 

How do you guys act together:

Being best friends since pretty much birth, the two of them are very playful with each other. They punch each other’s arms, they play fight, they aren’t afraid to hold hands in public, they share food if the other wants to try what they’re having, they share pretty much everything. Even clothes since Miwon likes to wear guys clothes – though there’s really nothing much for her to give back to him unless she buys a shirt that both of them can wear. He supports her in everything she does and treats her best out of everyone he knows. They know everything there is to know about each other and haven’t been separated ever. They even live together in the cramped up apartment near her university. You would think the two were a married couple, but they aren’t and get grossed out when you even bring it up. Neither of them will admit that they like each other because they think it’s normal for the two of them to act the way they do. That is until Lu Han finally gets that feeling. An unfamiliar warm feeling that he had always dreamed of having – just never expected it to be for his best friend. Miwon though is the one to confess. She just flat out says, “I like you. I hope it’s not weird.” Which of course is fine by the two of them since they just continue to act the way they usually do but they have the right to kiss now. There was nothing really to change in their relationship, they’re protective of each other, they get jealous when the other is with someone of opposite gender and it’s really normal. Lu Han just stops sleeping around which is about the biggest change there is between the two of them.

It was difficult to keep this secret from him. I mean, the two of them live together and spend most of their time together. One night when he finally confronted her about her secrecy, it slipped. He accused her of cheating on him and doing other obscene things with people who weren’t him – but of course he wasn’t completely sober or in his right mind. She told him about the whole situation after she gave him a cup of coffee to sober up. He didn’t believe her at first but couldn’t help but believe her in the end when she showed him. He was slightly upset at her because she kept a secret from him – the two know each other inside and out – but let it go since it was understandable for her to keep this secret.

How you and your guardian are together: Both Miwon and Sideswipe are two straightforward characters who are protective and tough. Sideswipe is the more rash of the two though both are quite rash when it comes to battle. They are both brave and won’t let anything get in their way when they’ve got their minds set. Although both are strong and very capable fighters, Sideswipe is more skilled when in combat. 

Describe how you are:

He is always there when she needs him. Miwon brings out the humour in Sideswipe when they fight, often making jokes and such when in battle almost as if they mock the enemy when they’re in battle with their laughter. With the two of them together, it’s like having eyes everywhere they have each other’s back and literally watch out for each other to make sure no one is coming from an opposite direction.

Fighting skills:

Miwon is physically very strong and has superior hand to hand combat skills. She may not have been trained in any sort of real technique, but she’s tough as steel when it comes to taking a hit and isn’t afraid to get down and dirty when fighting. She can throw hard punches and kicks, she is mostly an offensive fighter rather than defensive. She may be strong but she always leaves a battle severely injured which is why Sideswipe tries not to let her fight on her own. She is able to do a lot of damage but takes a lot of damage in the process.
