One year ago, five boys entered the Kpop industry and captured the hearts of many.

But little did I know that the 5 boys would soon make a huge impact on me.

It started one day, when my friend sent me a link to this video on Facebook:

She commented: You'll definitely like the guy in the white hat.

True enough, I did. I thought he was just plain adorable.

After that, I forgot about it for a long time.

Then suddenly, one day, I remembered the guy in the white hat again. And I decided to go look for him in the video again.

I remember going in my head, "What was the name again? B1A4?"

I guess I got it right, since I found the video again, and once again spazzed at the guy in the white hat.

So I decided to find out his name, and later on someone told me it was:

Gongchan.

I started trying to find more cuts of him in the video, but I didn't see much of him beyond that main scene that got me interested in him in the first place.

I looked through the related videos and found their music video for "O.K." 

So I watched it to try and find more clips of Gongchan.

While I was busy trying to look for clips of Gongchan, a sudden thought came into my head.

Hey, this song is pretty catchy.

Then I realised, Only Learned Bad Things was pretty catchy too. I listened to it again, and I couldn't get enough of it.

And I've been a BANA ever since.

I started watching MTV Match Up, and fell completely in love with their personalities and talents.

From Leader Jinyoung,

who's always working his hardest, trying his absolute best to create amazing songs that everybody will love.

The one that composes so many amazing songs without any knowledge on chords.

The optimistic one that keeps spirits high, and encourages the others to do their best.

Charismatic Rapper Baro,

the one that shows you not to judge a book by it's cover, with his cutie-boy squirrel looks and deep, y rapping voice.

The one that always makes people laugh, the teasing one, the 'bad boy'.

The sensitive one that gets the most emotional, even though he tries to give off a cold and indifferent image.

The Happy-Go-Lucky Sandeul,

the one who's always smiling, always having a good time, always positive and cheering everybody up.

The passionate singer, the caring friend, the handsome guy who's sometimes insecure about his appearance.

The gullible and childish one, the one that brightens up any room he's in.

Adorable Maknae Gongchan,

the reason why I became a BANA in the first place, the cute and playful puppy-like one, the handsome and boyish one.

The one that takes care of the others even though he's the youngest and the sweet one that loves his family.

The mischevious one that made any reality show fun to watch, the clever and quick-witted one.

To Multi-Talented CNU.

The singer, the dancer, the rapper, the actor, the nagging mom, the family man, the y and handsome one.

The one that made me reconsider my bias, the one that works hard and loves his fans, the super amazing and talented guy that I wish was my brother.

The one that seems awkward and shy at first, but is a complete goof. The one with a huge heart. The one that's kind and sincere, the one that will set the others straight.

The boys that always made me smile, even when I couldn't feel less like smiling.

The boys that worked hard and produced great music.

The group I liked before I even liked kpop.

The group that makes me want to jump out of bed in the morning,

the only group who's album and music videos excite me,

the only group that I truly love and follow.

And finally, it's been a year since these awesome boys debuted, and they can only get even more awesome from here.

I am proud to be a BANA.
