After ten years and almost 10,000 deaths, 3,000 of those from the twin towers and the other seven thousand a direct result of the united states continuing search and involvement in the middle east because of Bin Laden, on May 1st, 2011 Osama Bin Laden the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks has been killed by an elite team of Navy Seals. Finally after ten years, Ten! Years!, He is dead. I realize that the majority of users on AFF are not American, so you may not care, but to myself and other Americans on AFF this is a day that we will remember just as we remember the day of 9/11 itself. After so many dead and so many wounded it is comforting to see some mesure of justice brought to Bin Laden. But do not forget that Al' Qaeda is still alive and well, and still a threat to not only the USA but all countries and all people. And we cannot forget the people who have been wounded so deeply that not even his death can heal them, the Family members of not only the 9/11 victims but of every soldier killed overseas. The son who will never hug his father and the father who will never play with his child, the sister who will never have a beer with her brother and the brother who can never teach his nephew how to play catch in the backyard. The parents who will never know the man their son could have become, and the child who will never grow to old age comforted with the knowledge of a family that he can always go to for help, comfort, and unconditional love. These are the wounds that stay with us, and in the end these are the wounds that can never be repaired. I dont know if i love my country, but i do know, I have never been prouder of her...
