Personal background:

 He has been living in the orphanage for ten years in Singapore. He did not know if his parents alive or not. The he was adopted by a kind lady who treats him as his old son and took him to Japan. When he went to school, he would always come across a huge mansion which belongs to a powerful clan. By any chance, he became friend with the youngest grandson of the boss. But not for long, something had happened. Both he and his friends are kidnapped. In order to save his friends, he fights with the kidnappers and escaped with his friend and end up falling down from a cliff. When he woke up, he already at the hospital. He had been in comma for a year. Then he remembers his friends but when he get back to the mansion, his best friend had already left Japan. He then over heard by someone that his best friend had amnesia so his parents decide to bring him back to Seoul. After his adopted mother pass away, he decided to come to Seoul alone to start new life.

Baek Sung Ah – Even though she and Sungmin not blood related but she is a kind and caring mother. She died due to cancer.
