Mini rant

You know what I don't get? When people unsubscribe after a story is completed.

I'm not a writer but I am empathic towards the writers when they get upset about the fact that people unsubscribe after the story is finished. I kind of understand why they would unsubscribe during the story because they storyline is a bit dead but to unsubscribe at the end of the story... like what - what is going through their heads?

Are they scared that the author will continue updating? In that case, they should be happy, not unsubscribe.

Then again, I'm only me, and I might not understand their perspective but what logic (if it can be provided) can be given to explain this?

Why do people unsubscribe after a story is completed?

I actually hate it when people do that. I even hate it when readers do it to other authors
Like i did it once in 2010 ... it was the first fic i finished on aff... i clicked un-sub because i didn't know, but when i clicked it i felt bad & never did it again...

i really don't know why they do it though... it's not even necessary ...

@Babo-Rabbit, I just don't understand, but understand any circumstance, they should at least say why they are unsubscribing. At least it's better than then no reason at all.
@SerendipitySweet, But what's the point of keeping the subscription box 'clean'? Doesn't it say that they're a silent in which, I'm pretty sure, that some people don't like. But I guess some writers are cool with it but some aren't. I just want to know whatever it may be. *I'm not trying to come across as defensive or offensive, I'm just confused on the matter because a friend of mine is upset with it.*

i freaking agree with you... what is the point of sticking to the author for so long and then un-subbing ?
