hyunseung is generally a nice person, he doesn't do anything wrong he's just an intelligent kid that keeps to himself. hyunseong can't help but be awkawrd. half of the times he says things he regrets because it didn't sound as cool as he thought. especially when he talks to girls. he just wants to be someone thats cool and strong so his dad could finally like him. when he sees people with a lot of friends or cool he envious them because thats how he wants to be. he goes through a lot of self pity because of those feelings. since he wants to fit in so badly he is easily influenced by his surroundings. originally he isn't materialistic but if it means he'll make friends he'd spend a lot of money on them and buy the most recent things to fit in.

hyunseung was raised in an orphange since he was a week old. his mom was a teenager that hid her pregnancy and opted to give him up after giving birth so her parents wouldn't find out. hyunseung never knew was family was until he got adopted by song hanchul when he was 3. suddenly his life went from a poor crowded orphanage to a rich luxurious apartment. his father was running for mayor and whats better to get the votes of the people than to adopt a kid?
little hyunseung was so happy to get adopted but after the photo ops were done he got ignored. he wanted a relationship with his father that he saw in the movies and at the park, like playing sports together. but hyunseung never got that. after he got voted in his dad was too busy for him. hyunseung was taken care of by maids instead of his mom that didn't even want him in the first place.
when school started he tried hard to make friends and thought he did. he was naive so he didn't know that they were using him to get gifts and go to cool places. he thought he'd have friends going into middle school but they totally ignored him and ended up bullying him instead. he never fought back because they were his friends, he just let it happen. the first time he tried to complain to his dad when he was 13 about them bullying him his dad taught him a lesson about being a man, you have to be ruthless and fight back. but hyunseung could never fight back, he just wasn't a fighter. he didn't have that cruel bone in him.
his parents always made sure he went to school far away from eden. his dad would prefer if he remained unknown around town because he didn't want him messing anything up for him. he liked to keep his family private. they were actually never seen together either, after the news of him being adopted nothing else was ever heard about him. he practically went forgetten because his parents never took him anywhere, not even to events.
in middle school hyunseung changed schools 3 times just to avoid his parents having to go there for the messes he would cause. everytime he got in trouble and drew attention to himself his father would call him to his office with a golf club in hand and make him strip . and the next day he couldn't sit without being in pain. but it was all in the name of making him stronger.
highschool wasn't any better, hyunseung avoided eye contact with everyone and that immediately caught the attention of the bullies that saw him as an easy target. 4 schools later and hyunseung has ended up at the highschool all the eden kids go to for his final year and now that he's close to home he better behave.

jo hanchul | 50 | dad | hanchul was the old mayor of haesol and now an assemblyman. he is someone that cares greatly about his reputation but even more about money. its a dog eat dog world and its ruthless, if you want to make it you have to step on some toes sometimes and hanchul has stepped on a lot. he's great at making himself look good in the public eye, his reputation is actually very good but many dont know the blood sweat and tears that has to happen for that to maintain. hanchul isn't a fan of hyunseung going to school so close to home, he just hopes that he doesn't draw attention to himself because hyunseung is a weak embarrassment. he wants hyunseung to stand up for himself, be a strong alpha male. thats why he's so cruel with his punishments, to toughen him up. his father did the same to him and look how he came out, a successful assemblyman. but sometimes hanchul regrets adopting hyunseung because if he truly had a son he'd never come out that weak.
