How do you deal with rude readers

I recently accepted a request on my other writting page and today they say "When am I going to get my FFs"

I told them something had popped up, considering I'm a student and working a job its hard to be online to write all the time.

What should I have told them?

I think you told them the right thing. Being open about your schedule with readers will have them try to actually understand. Writers do so when they have time for it, and having supportive readers helps you not lose muse and stuff.
