"사랑해, 사랑해, just want to give you my heart."

I found this song while listening through SMTOWN's playlist of remastered music videos, and fell in love with it immediately. It's my current repeat.

Featuring Kangta of H.O.T. fame, Hyesung of Shinhwa, and singer/actor Lee Jihoon, I deliver to you their song, "I Swear." It was released in 2003 and uploaded to SMTOWN's YouTube channel in 2011. Together, they were under the group name of "S." After this, they released another album in 2014.

With the intro info out of the way, let's move onto the song!

It's guitar-based, with a quick, contemporary beat. Combined with the light instruments and their vocals, it's like a sunny, yet windy day. Though their voices have quite similar timbres (to me, at least), you can really tell the differences in them, and they complement the instrumental and each other very well! I love when they synchronize after Hyesung's verse with less instruments. 

There is some regret and longing behind the lyrics, but a little hope as well. I interpret it as them having broken up with someone because they weren't/aren't mature enough for a relationship, or maybe their focus was elsewhere. They just want to give their loved one their heart, but they have to be better for the relationship to work, hence why they're asking for the other person to wait. I think the longing and regret comes in because it still hurt to break up with the other person, especially knowing they should/had to. 

But then they also mention drying up tears and moving on... I'm not too sure how to add that into here. Maybe despite their growth in the future, they'll realize it's better to move on, even though the love they had was so special to them, and will look to the future bittersweetly.

That may just be me, though. How do you interpret it?

A little off-topic, but this group was sort of like a supertrio, right? I know we have SuperM and GOT, but I think it would be interesting to have another supergroup covering this (hopefully with an SJ member, but that's just because I'm biased). Maybe a trio for each gen or something... I dunno. What do you think?
