But when you get to know him, he is actually someone who is cold and calculating. He analyzes things before speaking thus, he knows what to say and when to say it. Some people find it unnerving that, in his age, he could be so harsh and mean. This caused him to be distant. Gaining his trust is a challenge because he rarely opens up to people. If you do get him to talk to you, it’s all sarcasm.

When you do get inside Ethan’s shell, you’ll see that he’s still the same. The only difference is that, he actually is the one who starts conversations. You’ll also see a different side of him; the caring side. Deep down, Ethan actually cares for the people around him, he just doesn’t know how to express it.

When meeting new people, Ethan will be all polite and nice but after that, he returns to his usual self. Whenever someone isn’t talking (or bothering) him, Ethan usually reads a book while listening to music. He also cooks and is quite good but will only cook when he actually feels like it. Also, there’s one thing Ethan absolutely hates; skinship.

 

background: Ethan was born and raised in Seoul. Being multiracial, he experienced bullying and racism wherever he went. Of course, he didn’t tell his parents because they were in a tight bind themselves. Ethan had to endure everything silently. Whenever his parents would ask why he had a bruise or two, he’d tell them he fell. They’d believe him, or so he thought. Even so, Ethan grew up in a family that showered him love and support. When Ethan wanted to join the basketball team, his parents supported him and were present in every game. When he told them he wanted to be a singer, they supported him as well. His parents are the only people he actually respects and loves a lot.

 

There’s an event from his teenage years that he couldn’t forget. There was a time when he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was walking from school when he walked pass an empty house. Remembering that that house was always filled with people, it was rare to see it empty. He crept into the house and managed to enter through the window. There, he saw the murdered and sliced bodies of the house’s inhabitants. He was accused of being the murderer but the real murderer was found afterwards.
