ㅤㅤㅤ! 한별'S RELATIONSHIPS

i'm just gonna slam my notes here for everyone to see as i have some things to say AHAHAHAHA

there's a horizontal scroll in the somewhat "empty" box overlaying the icons since i'll be making short drabbles that has the interactions between byul and the rest of the gang (specifically during highschool)! as for byul herself, i'll just be writing some short notes about herself so that you don't need to check her app (unless you want to dwell more on her trivias, then that's fine too hehe)

all of the drabbles are about byul's.... problems and whatnots when it comes to her awful chocolate eating habit and her being two kinds of people, so to speak. you'll probably see the word "chocolate" more than 20 times here, just wanna put it out there AHAHAHA

if i misunderstood the character and wrote them wrong in the drabbles, do forgive me and i'm willing to have ya'll correct me for it ;;

i knew i should've eaten that last snickers bar, byul thought as she was seemingly dragged by a certain kim taehyung through the staircase that leads to the rooftop.

if byul remembered correctly, no one's allowed there; and she's pretty sure taehyung's not the type to break any rules at all. although, she only got to know him for at least 3 days already so who was she to judge?

by the time they arrived at the entrance to the rooftop, byul met the sight of 5 people hanging out by the other end. she's not particularly familiar with either of them since she never bothered knowing all the students who're the same level as hers, and the thought of meeting someone new and yet again to be judged by her boring personality made her anxious.

"don't worry," taehyung said, as if he read her thoughts. "they're good people."

byul chose to trust that.
HAN BYUL
HAN BYUL
HAN BYUL
 — these are all copied from her app cuz m lazy AHAHAHA
 — byul is very diligent with everything she does—that inlcudes her work, her studies when she was still a student, her life in general because she's a hardworker
 — which in a sense made her kinda dull because before she even met taehyung and the gang, she's not much of a social person
 — plus she's an otaku so if she's not studying, she drowns herself in watching animes with her pusheen plushie and drinking hot milk
 — when she met tae and the others though, she kinda proved it to others that she's loyal because while most friends come and go, she just stays
 — mainly because she never had any permanent friends nor anyone she'd actually be close to so she cherishes them a lot
 — other than how softspoken she is, she's friendly—but sometimes too friendly that people would take advantage of that
 — she doesn't get angry easily as well because of how patient and understanding she is; if people managed to like her for being dull and fun at the same time then she's willing to be more patient with them as well
 — she doesn't joke often in her dull self (more like sarcastic even), but she says a lot of jokes when she's fun byul
 — speaking of fun byul, she's actually very approachable in a way that she spews positive vibes (plus her smiles are infatuating) so people are attracted to her that way
 — vvvv enthusiastic with her work that most of her customers enjoy watching her create chocolate masterpieces
 — unlike dull byul, people find her enthusiasm helpful whenever things are just so sad
 — she's kinda the middle man of the group, wherein she can either be with the silent ones or the loud ones by just eating chocolate
 — for someone who's often known to be "loud" and "outspoken", she's actually very timid in real life
 — dull byul is very timid and conservative; she even feels like crying whenever she has to do reports at school which is why her groupmates never make her report for the class ⁍ she's not actually close-minded (which is often associated when one's conservative), but rather she's not really bold (yes, we are still talking about dull byul here)
 — she doesn't like breaking the rules as much as fun byul does, and would rather stick to something more logical and safer
 — doesn't like the way that she feels so fragile and scared about interacting, that she even chose to eat chocolates just to be a lot more courageous than her real self
 — the gang knows about it, and frankly is against that kind of method because, hey they love her for who she is (they can never leave someone as soft and precious as byul no matter how "dull" she may be)
 — but still, she depracates herself so much she couldn't really handle those kinds of thoughts because nothing and no one can
 — in a sense, that also makes her dishonest because she can't stay true to herself
 — no matter how much she tries to be the fun byul, without it then she's just regular han byul who, most often than not, goes to a convenience store at 12AM in just her pikachu onesie
 — did i mentioned she's also pretty dull? yeah she's monotonous—so much so that what she does in her daily life is pretty much predictable
 — she's not dependent to anyone, no, she actually is to chocolates instead
 — one of the guys in the gang even said that if a person can become someone else entirely just by becoming drunk because of alcohol, byul's pretty much like that—just with chocolates instead
 — it's very much unhealthy for her because it can lead to diabetes but she doesn't care about that at all
 — which is actually why her dependency to those sweets are dangerous
 — but for someone who's soft, she's too stubborn to listen to what the others scolded her about
GO7SOys.png
byul could feel eyes on her whilst she was busy opening her nth snickers bar of the day. her pack of hershey's bar was already gone yesteryday (which was supposed to last for a week-), and her tongue was already looking for that rich chocolate flavor again.

thus, the snickers bar.

but that's not the point, really. it's actually how she felt nakwon's questioning eyes on her as she does the deed (a good deed, she often convinces herself).

"want some?" byul asked, staring at her with the half-opened chocolate bar offered to questioned female.

"... no, thank you," it was a short pause, but still  pause nonetheless so byul took the initiative to ask.

she's chatty byul now, no use relying on plain byul to confront her. "i know you want to tell me something so just say it," she smiled.

nakwon took her time, and byul let her. she already expected that she's going to be asked alot about her habit (an unhealthy habit!, taehyung often corrects her), so while nakwon tried to construct her own question, byul continued to eat her bar.

"didn't you just ate chocolates yesterday?"

byul blinked at her, before stifling a laugh, "out of all the questions, you asked that?"

"it's connected to my next question," the latter defensively answered, rolling her eyes.

"well, yeah, i did."

"won't you get diabetes from that? or some kind of disease because of eating too much sugar?"

"i know i'd end up like that," byul hummed. "but let's just say this is my courage booster."

whether or not she felt that nakwon understood what she meant, she never asked further about it.
JU NAKWON
JU NAKWON
JU NAKWON
 — they were going through the same thing; the trust issues, the fact that they want to please people, it's as if byul's seeing herself in her—just being in a different circumstance
 — they confide in each other in a certain way that despite not actually opening up to each other, they take comfort in each other's presence
 — nakwon's one of the members in the gang who's still concerned about her changing personalities and eating chocolates
 — even at the reunion, she's worrily asking her how's her health and everything
 — they have that kind of companionship wherein they both understand each other despite nakwon having hesitance to have their friendship become more meaningful and important
 — byul felt that, but she didn't said anything because she knew nakwon would tell if she's ready to
 — nakwon's the other female friend byul's immediately friends with (sukyung being the first)
 —  (suggestion but totally up to moon!) byul's the first (or second next to taehyung) to find out about nakwon's relationship with ideun simply because she caught the two of them together talking about their relationship
 — of course nakwon panicked but byul swore she'll act like nothing happened, which she did
2kNGvlT.png
"you can't be serious."

byul, not for the life of her, would ever think that kim taehyung would actually hold sandy (her precious pusheen plushie) hostage in exchange for all the chocolates she's stashed away in her room.

technically speaking, they're supposed to their maths homework. apparently, taehyung's having none of it.

"let's make a deal," taehyug grinned.

"no," byul flatly said. "give me sandy!"

she should have known that taehyung's as stubborn as she is, "she remains as my hostage unless you give up the chocolates!"

"you're lucky my parents even agreed to us studying in my room—i demand respect!"

"you're gonna get sick from eating too much," taehyung whispered, also worried that byul's parents would hear their "childish" argument.

byul didn't even need to ponder over it when she saw the guilt swimming around his eyes, "you're feeling guilty, aren't you?"

"i think it's valid for me to feel that way," taehyung sighed. "you've been eating chocolates nonstop. i'm not even exaggerating about it."

"stop pestering me with that," byul groaned. "my parents already dictated my whole life, i don't want someone else do the same thing."

taehyung didn't answer, and byul couldn't see the reason why she should feel guilty with how she responded to his worries.

"... would you at least lessen your chocolate intake?"

byul raised an eyebrow at him, and it wasn't a question. it was a compromisation.

"fine," she sighed again. "can i have sandy back now?"

taehyung finally grinned, before throwing her plushie right to her face.
KIM TAEHYUNG
KIM TAEHYUNG
KIM TAEHYUNG
 — the key person who changed her life completely—and not in a dramatic way
 — taehyung's probably the only one in the gang that byul doesn't hesitate to be just herself because she knew that he doesn't have no opinion of her being so monotonous and timid
 — she can call him her best guy friend, but she's not entirely sure of what tae thinks of her since she knew that he has a lot of friends (didn't helped that he became a successful and handsome idol)
 — she also had a momentary crush on him but was soon gone when they became friends
 — by momentary crush, i mean a crush that lasted for a day
 — it's love at first sight basically
 — she treats him more like family (and a brother) than being a friend
 — it didn't matter to her if tae didn't realize how much he changed her life, she's just content that he calls her one of his close friends out of all the friends he has and his phone contacts can take
 — she also knows that tae's guilty for offering/tempting her to eat chocolates; she could see the way he looks at her whenever she eats
 — so there's also that constant reminder that he, out of all people, should not feel guilty
 — out of all the gang, he's the person she's closest with
 — she confides with him the most, byul's convinced that he has that sort of jedi going on 'cause she's very sure that she's not the type to burst and full on rant with someone she's not close with (yet)
 — despite no contact at all after they graduated, byul supported him from the sidelines
 — she's not an army, not really, but she does try to contribute in supporting them by streaming bts' music, buying some of their merch (only limited to a few stickers, photocards and one bts album she absolutely loves: you never walk alone)
 — fun fact: she cried while listening to spring day just because of the lyrics and because it kinda brings out what she really feels whne the gang drifted apart (thus, the reason she bought the said album)
oXl7Y1P.png
"so you were faking it," eden muttered, surprising byul.

she was so busy answering her homework inside the library that she didn't even noticed the guy sitting at the chair across the table where she's at. she's not even sure if she appreciated it. she's highly intimidating by him, even if she knows that eden's anything but a bad guy (such a basic word, but considering she's studying korean literature, her vocabulary as of the moment are already out of the gutter).

maybe it's the face? byul stared at eden, who's already expecting a reply from him. yeah, definitely the face.

"what do you mean by that?"

"you haven't eaten those.. chocolates. right?" he raised an eyebrow.

byul's eyes widened at that, so he noticed too huh.

"i haven't—but what does that have anything to do with me faking it?"

"stop using those as a way to be someone else," he said bluntly, and it felt like a stab. "you're you. we're friends because of that, not because you can become chatty and all unicorns and rainbows."

"hey," she frowned. "what's wrong with being all unicorns and rainbows?"

"it's not you," eden simply said, and byul knew better than to just ponder about that statement on a surface-level.
BAEK IDEUN
BAEK IDEUN
BAEK IDEUN
 — one word: intimidating
 — another word: brutal
 — if there's one thing to describe ideun, he really doesn't hold back whenever he comments about byul's awful habit of trying to be someone she's really not (in a sense)
 — also scolds her the most when it comes to eating too much chocolates
 — was the one who started calling her coco because of it (sometimes it's coco bean if the gang's diligent enough to say such a long nickname)
 — was not happy when byul found out about his relationship with nakwon, but nonetheless trusted her that she won't tell anyone about it
 — it's not like ideun's not comfortable around her, it's actuallly the exact opposite, he's just not good at buttering up his words
 — if byul describes him, he's like the intimidating brother that would not hesitate to investigate and have a 1-on-1 talk with her potential lover (aka the bad cop) while tae's the fun brother everyone goes to (aka the good cop)
 — (suggestion but totally up to moon!) he might actually do that in the nearby future (maybe some time after the reunion) when byul did met her potential lover
 — despite being "oblivious", she is bummed when he and nakwon broke up
 — when byul started to become more comfortable around him, both as dull and fun byul, it ends up annoying the heck out of ideun
 — mainly because he's getting tired of the constant switches (cues fun byul saying "stop adding wrinkles to your face! you don't want to look older than what you look already!")
 — dull byul listens to ideun; fun byul does not
xzgdoN4.png
it was 11 in the evening, byul was supposed to be asleep now. so how she ended up in an ongoing (currently 10-minute) phone call with woojoo is beyond her.

"woojoo, i swear, are you even aware of the time?" byul was pretty sure she managed to slur out his name, but she didn't dwell on that too much.

"it's only 11pm. that's still early," woojoo said nonchalantly.

she groaned, "not for me, joo."

"i assume i'm talking to byul #1?"

"yes, this is she," byul mumbled sarcastically. "why'd you even called? this is tae's job."

"yeah but this is acad-related! you're one of the smartest, okay. i need help," he whined.

"stop with the act. we all know who's the smartest here. you have your scholarship screaming headlines on your resume."

"...."

"what are you really calling me for, joo?"

"they're worried... well, so am i."

byul frowned, "and you chose the time that i'm already asleep to talk about this?"

even if byul couldn't see him, she already imagined the sheepish grin plastered on his face, "i was finishing my maths homework so tihis was the only time i could call you."

"we can talk about this in the morning," she yawned. "you don't have to worry, really. i'm fine."

"we know you're not. we kinda learned that the hard way."

byul sighed, "let's talk about this at the rooftop with the others."

"promise me you won't eat chocolates by then."

she bit her lip, a little hesitant, but she could feel the sense of worry edging in his voice that she just couldn't say no to him. she loves her friends that much.

"i promise."
ON WOOJOO
ON WOOJOO
ON WOOJOO
 — woojoo's one of the few people who wasn't that bothered with the changes between byul's personality; rather, he's more worried with the fact that she's eating too much chocolate
 — often calls him joo especially when she's annoyed since woojoo can be a bit too much sometimes (kinda ironic) such as when he calls her late at night despite knowing she sleeps early back in highschool
 — byul's forever grateful or the squad, but there are certain situations that she just relies on woojoo simply because they're both different and the same
 — situations such as something related to parents, it's something byul finds herself confide him to
 — it was actually byul who metaphorically "took the cat out of the bag" with woojoo's background of being an orphan because of how much she complains about her own parents
 — while byul hates the idea of havin her parents dictate every single thing she does in her life, woojoo doesn't agree with the idea of her hating her parents when they're just doing waht they think is best for her
 — as someone who lost his parents young, he finds people like byul "lucky" for having worrying parents (despite also knowing that dictation isn't the best parenting style)
NLxuIws.png
she felt a tap on the lower half of her back and a small mutter of, "straighten your back," before she saw the sight of chaewol sitting next to her in the classroom.

fun byul would've called her back-brace again, but she doesn't have the energy to become fun byul. not with this biology quiz coming up in two hours.

"you're not from here," byul said quietly, enjoying the silence of the classroom at 6am. it's supposed to be only her, since she always comes to school 2 hours before the actual time, but she was surprised to see chaewol here as well.

"i feel like going here early," chaewol answered, pulling out her notebook and pen from her bag. "nobody's in my classroom yet and i know you come early so i decided to study with you."

"you have a test today too?" byul furrowed her eyebrows. if she remembered correctly, it's not until tomorrow before her class could take the quiz.

chaewol just stared at her blankly, before byul thought not to push her any further and just continued reading.

it was a good 15-minute silence before chaewol spoke up again.

"have you watched the last season of fruits basket?"

byul looked at her, horrified, "oh god, the final season's already out?"

"yeah. it was intense."

"i better grab a snicker bar so that while i watch it-"

"we can watch it together without you switching or whatever that is," chaewol said, before eyeing her biology notes. "but after you understand the topic."

"but i can't. i only understand little of the concepts! at least for you, you already understood that."

byul could see a brief change in her expression, something similar to a i-gave-up vibe, but she just answered her with a,

"why do you think i came here and pull out my biology notes? of course i'm gonna study with you."

byul already had the feeling of what chaewol was trying to do, already knowing her for at least 5 months already, but she didn't mentioned it.

"okay... do you want to watch anime next?"

"i'm ready for that."
KWAK CHAEWOL
KWAK CHAEWOL
KWAK CHAEWOL
 — would call her chae when she's fun byul so chaewol kinda figures if she's talking to fun or dull byul even without observing how she acts
 — first impression: intimidating, intimidating, intimidating
 — chaewol ends up being her study buddy more often than she realizes
 — unexpectedly, they have anime marathons together!! and chaewol often expresses how much she prefers byul the way she is
 — byul thinks of her as a goddess because she gifts her chocolate on special occasions (with an additional reminder of "only for today" from her)
 — probably calls her mom sometimes just because she kinda acts like that around her (applies to both fun and dull byul)
 — they drifted apart for a bit since chaewol moved to australia but byul tries to contact her on a daily basis
 — but still, due to being in two different countries plus they're already working adults, it's hard to keep in touch consistently
 — however, byul had this gut feeling that all the mass order of chocolates she gets from overseas is actually from chaewol herself (she knows she's a tsundere anyway so)
 — byul brought chocolates to the reunion with also the intention of giving chaewol's younger brother a pack of chocolates as well
 — it took a bit of time before byul's comfortable being alone with chaewol (and that's on chaewol actually doing the first move on how they ended up being comfy with each other)
 — she and ideun are intimidating af, it's no wonder it took a bit more time for byul to loose her guard
NrQVW3l.png
"have you ever thought of acting?"

byul looked up from her laptop, busy munching on a chocolate bar—milky way this time—and furrowed her eyebrows.

"what?"

sekyung widened her eyes and looked away, "i mean like, since you often switch whenever you eat chocolates, i thought that maybe you're good at acting. sorry if i sounded insensitive though. i was simply curious."

byul swallowed the chocolate she's eating, before shrugging as she leaned against the rail of the rooftop. it was just her and sekyung since the others were still busy buying their lunches.

"nah, it's not insensitive for you to ask since i got used to it. it's been months already so," she grinned. "you're itched to ask that, aren't you?"

"yes," sekyung pursed her lips and smiled lightly. "i'm just not used to seeing a person changing so much in a span of seconds just because of a chocolate."

"well, if you want to know, it's not really acting," she stared up at the sky as she pondered over her next words. "the real me would've been hesitant to say this but, i'm currently the other one so i should probably say that this is kinda like.... an another side of me? i don't know how this works, really. it just... came out like that when i first ate the chocolate tae gave me back then."

sekyung hummed, "something like a switch?"

"yeah, something like that. speaking of acting, you wanted to pursue that right?"

"uh huh," she smiled. "it's kinda like a dream job thing."

"good for you," byul smiled sincerely, before pulling a frown. "we're already 3rd-years yet i still haven't thought of what i wanna do."

sekyung stared at her, "it'll come. you don't have to pressure yourself in finding your passion."

"if i did find one, will you listen to how i ended up with it?" byul asked.

sekyung grinned softly, "of course."
YOON SEKYUNG
YOON SEKYUNG
YOON SEKYUNG
 — soft soft soft soft
 — first girl she became close with (both in the gang and her entire life basically)
 — they like to hang out together on the roof alone, eating lunch first since the others would have to buy their own food at the canteen (packed lunches rule!)
 — if tae is byul's best guy friend, she treats sekyung her best girl friend
 — which is why she's the one, out of all the gang, who's most hurt when sekyung drifted away from them
 — was also sad because sekyung promised that she'll listen to byul's adventures on how she come to decide what job she wants to do
 — even so, byul's a fan of her works—she'll watch every kdrama she's starred in
 — it's sort of a way for byul to be "updated" around her
 — would really really hug the out of her during their reunion 'cause i miss you! :(
 — finds some articles about her dating the directors of the dramas she's starred in, some are not so good, but byul doubts that sekyung's that kind of person and believes that there's a reason for everything
 — despite being a weeb, byul's also a huge fan of friends so they often talk about the series! plus, chandler bing is byul's ideal type as well so they gush about him alot (byul's favorite character is monica geller and sekyung often teases her that it's because monica's brave and has a strong personality which is the exact opposite of byul)
 — byul's very patient with her whenever she teaches sekyung about anything technology-related
 — "first things first, would you PLEASE let me drive your porsche" right off the bat when they met again at the reunion (apparently byul ate a snicker's bar, thus fun byul)
oXl7Y1P.png
"oh you little ," byul lets out a frustrated growl when she saw the culprit, her bratty of a pet, the most sassy russian blue cat she had ever met, whiskers, walking on the kitchen counter whilst leaving flour paw prints across.

and also the huge mess she left.

"whiskers! how many times have a told you not to climb up the counters whenever i bake?!" she screeched.

the said cat looked up at her, eyes looking so deceivingly innocent, "meow meow."

"you're not sorry. i know you better," she rolled her eyes and pushed her sleeves until the elbow.

"no salmon tonight."

"meow!"
WHISKERS
WHISKERS
WHISKERS
 — she knows, not really the most unique name for a pet
 — she first saw whiskers during a storm, she was walking home from her shop and caught sight of a old cardboard box drenched under the rain
 — there she saw her whimpering and byul, who has a soft and weak heart to animals, took her in and adopted her
 — for all she knew, she never expected that whiskers would grow up to be such a sassy cat
 — nonetheless, she loves her to death and is the only companion she has inside her apartment
 — she also trusts her instincts when it comes to people; if whiskers doesn't like the person, it means that they're not the people she's supposed to put her guard down
 —  this usually happens when byul's dating and she invited her dates at home for some drinks or tea before sending them home
 — and turns out, whisker's pretty much correct to every single person she ever dated
 — they argue alot with whiskers talking back and byul understanding 99% of them (if you watched tiktok, how she talks is pretty much how cooter talks AHAHAHAHA)
 — whisker's the only living being that she doesn't eat chocolates just to be fun byul because for some reason, she manages to bring out the honest, and apparently vulgar, side of byul
 — the day after byul took her home, she was immediately taken to the vet to get the appropriate vaccines necessary and mandatory for her
 — fun fact: she's approximately 3 years old as of 2019
