I'm a Terrible Writer

Back again and want to write a new story or two casually...in fact, I wanted to do that under a new account because I couldn't deal with the stories that I didn't finish under this account. Then, I realized that if I chose to write under a new account, then all my precious badges would disappear (haha...not that it should matter much, but having a 6 years old account does feel like a nice accomplishment, though I didn't do much).

I'm a terrible writer...I keep on wishing to finish up the other stories, but I just don't have the will (at least at the moment). Sometimes, I know that if I just make time, then I can at least try to start making some progress. Anyways, for now, I guess I will continue to make some excuses, regardless if the excuses are reasonable or not.

I'm no longer working two jobs. However, I have been working full time while studying part-time. During my free time, I ended up choosing easy hobbies and brainless activities over writing...and frankly, I like it a lot (ahahaha)! I think at this point though, I have to admit that I still enjoy writing, but that I should still do my best to keep in the mindset that I write for myself and try to take it easy. At least this way, I won't feel any pressure and just enjoy the ride. :)

Currently, I have:

- 5 unfinished stories;

- 1 new one that I want to start soon; and

- 1 that I have deleted (there wasn't any chapter written. I also don't think anyone care anyways because it is such an obsure fandom.)

Regarding the 5 unfinished stories:

- The Kiss - Prequel to A Decade Later. I'm going to try to start on this next year hopefully. I really enjoyed writing A Decade Later, so hopefully I will find the joy with this one too.

First & Eleventh - hmmm...I had an idea. Yes, had. However, at the moment, I'm not sure what else to do with it. I will likely need to brainstorm this a little and try to refocus the plot a little and shorten things a little before I can start writing again.

Switch! Mr. Overachiever & Mr. Underachiever - da music is the energy drink for me to finish up this story. I initally wanted to make this a short story that would give way to a longer story. Think I should just stick with a short story instead. Will hopefully complete this under 10 chapters.

An Irreversible Trade-off - Unfortunately, I planned too far ahead with this story (although, all in my mind, nothing written down) and lost the motivation to write as I know exactly how this story will end. However, I will try to pick up and finish eventually with the help of some edgy music.

The Wiseman, the Opportunist, and the Insane - I think I can make this work by refocusing the plotline a little and go from there.

For now, I intend to complete the above stories.

Regarding the new story:

I'm thinking of writing a boring slice-of-life starring Yang Zi and Deng Lun~~~~ hehehe...

Bye for now~

the one thing i always keep in my mind while i am doing a hobby (normally gaming or reading) is that it shouldn't feel like a chore rather it should feel like relaxing and i think writing can also be added in hobby if u do it for pleasure so if it feels like a chore leave it for a week and then try again after a week or two (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Not finishing your stories all at once doesn't make you a terrible writer. Motivation and inspiration don't appear all the time and real life can be a factor as well. Honestly, brainless activities and engaging in things you enjoy at the moment are far better than constantly worrying about unfinished stories. If the ideas and motivation hit you in the future, then you'll eventually finish what you started then. For now, continue doing what you love and like you mentioned, don't chase your unfinished stories in the hope to have them completed. Enjoy the writing process for your sake and don't feel any pressure. :)

You don't have to write a million words a day to be good. I just read a few chapters of A Decade Later and I'll be reading the rest soon because it's entertaining! Just write when you have ideas and you feel like writing.

Hey, we haven't talked before but I just wanted to say a couple of things.
First of all, don't call yourself a terrible writer. Sometimes life happens or you lose motivation for a specific time period where you feel like doing nothing but random brainless activities because that's how the human brain works. It will pass, if not now, later.
I see you wrote you still enjoy writing. That's good since writing is a way to express yourself. Don't force yourself on it. And believe me, I also have millions of random ideas I want to turn into stories but have no motivation to write out chapters XD But just like you, my main focus is finishing up stories I've already started (but they're still drafts so idk if that's similar).
Still, it's good to see you have a goal. I hope you end up accomplishing it :) Just wanted to say good luck and that I'll be here supporting you <3
