Reading Your Own Story (PART 2)

So in my last post, I mentioned that reading my own story was always an experience for me. I also brought up my first story that I ever wrote, Noir. For nostalgia's sake, I went back and decided that that was the story I was going to reread. AND......*breathes in sharply*

THE F***!!

How did I write a story about so much trauma and abuse and just toxicity and not have it under mature or trigger warning!!!???!?

 I'll tell you how!

At the time that I wrote that story I, myself, was in a very abusive relationship and, at the time, something like that was "NORMAL".

Well, it's not normal and there are a lot of people that go through it. So for the sake of people with any experience that's similar to my own, my story is not only marked under various warnings and for a strong, mature audience but also now has links to help.

Don't get me wrong, I love the story to death but jeez.

I'm happy to hear that you're in a better place now, have gotten out of that relationship, and have had the time to heal. I think it's a great thing that, despite your currently very different point of view, you leave the story up, but this time with links so those who might go through the same or something similar can reach out and hopefully find a better place for themselves, too
