- she is a big fan of fairy tales and she and luhan had pet nicknames back in high school, where she called him peter pan and he called her tinker bell;
- Mei likes to draw and watch movies;
- she has the habit of putting her hair into a ponytail when she is thinking and bites her lower lip when nervous.

Mei and luhan would often argue with one another. Luhan was popular among girls, but Mei liked to saying that he was a girl himself. Mei's best friend (Fang Jia) and luhan's best friend (Zhang ming Yi) became close and the four of them started walking together. After Jia and ming yi started dating, mei and Luhan had no choice but to spend more time the two of them. Luhan and Mei kept getting into fight and arguments, but somehow they could have fun together, talk freely to one another and even open up and have serious conversations. None of them is sure when feelings started to develop, but it was clear to them that a certain point they couldn't imagine their day without the other being around. Jia and Ming yi easily realized that their best friends were in love and tried to convince each of them to confess to the other, but it was like talking to a wall, after all, Luhan and mei were both extremely stubborn. When guys started to notice Mei's beauty, Luhan started to get jealous. Although Mei only cared about her studies and grades, Luhan didn't like the attention that they were giving her. So in an impulse he ended up kissing her and confessing his feelings for her. And that's how they started dating.

Luhan told his girlfriend that he wanted to become an idol and she supported him no matter what, while Luhan supported Mei into becoming a doctor. As their relationship was serious, mei met Luhan's family and he met hers. However, fate decided to play a few tricks. During a trip that Luhan and mei did together, a scout from SM agency spooted Luhan and liked his looks, asking if he would like to do an audition. Mei was truly happy for him and supported him saying that he would be great in his autidion. And just like that, Luhan became a trainee in SM entertainment. This would mean that Luhan would have to move to Korea to become an idol. Mei returned to Beijing and they promised to try a long distance relationship. However, dating a trainee with a full schedule, especially in a different country wasn't easy. And after a year of trying, they decided to break up.

Mei started medical school while luhan kept training to debut. Although Mei and Luhan broke up, she kept visiting his family as they asked her to keep visiting them. She would help cooking, cleaning and helping his mother. Luhan's mother was mentally hoping that one day they would be back together and she often told Mei that she wanted cute and smart grandchildren and therefore she would wait. When Luhan debuted she was thrilled and send him a text to congratulate him. both of them tried to meet other people and date, but somehow the feelings they felt for one another had never disappeared.

Whenever Luhan went to China for a tour and he could go to Beiing, he would visit his family and his friends and the spark he felt for Mei. Even his mother told him that she missed Mei as her daughter in law and that the younger girl had been taking care of Luhan's family. When the two of them were alone and talked, it was like time had not pass between them, they still joked around and laughed. Between drinks their feelings took the best of them and they ended up getting involved. Knowing that a long distance relationship wouldn't work, they still decided to give another try and live for the moment. Whenever she could, Mei would visit Luhan at Korea and whenever he went to China, he would visit her. She even went to exo's concerts and became close to s. But once again, feelings decided to play with them and long distance relationship didn't work between them. However, they decided to remain friends. Luhan couldn't hide his feelings whenever he saw pictures of Mei with other man, even if it was during parties, because he knew that she was free to date whoever she wanted.

In 2014, after Luhan left Korea, he returned to China. That time Mei was an intern in the hospital, but as soon as she heard what happened, she left everything and run to meet him and see how he was doing. Luhan looked unhealthy and extremely tired. Mei took a week off and took care of him everyday to make sure that he would be ok. When he got better he went to visit her hospital, under desguise, to thank her. He was colder than he used to be and he seemed hurt. Mei tried to pass his shell and make him talk to her. It took her a while, since he only would let her go to meet him, not even ming yi or jia could talk to him. Their bond became stronger again and without realizing they got involved again and started dating.

With time Luhan became his old self and they kept teasing each other again and act as they used to. Luhan became a famous soloist and an actor in China and dating wasn't easy as they couldn't be seen in public together. After a while they decided to live together and have secret dates whenever Mei's or luhan's busy schedules allow them. Jia and Ming yi got married in 2018 and ever since they have been nagging Luhan and Mei, asking when the two of them are getting married.
