Uhm...so I decided to join a writing contest? I'd been reading all the details on the contest for like, twenty times now, and I'm still so excited! I think this is going to be such a good opportunity for me to be more experimental with my writing. This really encourages me to step out of my writing comfort zone and try out new things. Plus, this is gonna help me be more dedicated in my writing as well! I personally think writing has to take discipline. As a former Creative Writing and Literature student, I wanted to reignite my love for writing again, and I think this contest will really help me just be more focused in not just learning about the beautiful world that is literature - but for my entertainment as well. As we all know, life is really tough for everyone right now, and I want to use whatever negative energy we get and convert it into productive energy. Writing is my escape and at the same time my passion, so what better way to hit two birds with one stone than joining this contest, am I right?

I have such high hopes for my story, When Roses Kiss. I spent so much of my time planning this all out and I POURED my heart and soul into this so I'm really excited! In fact, I got so excited by this that I dropped my office from the Student Council (of some sorts, it's not literally that, but yeah) just so I can have more time for this one, but I don't regret it either. I think I've done enough in my previous school years and worked WAY TOO hard already that I deserve to take a break and focus more on my mental health and whatever my heart wants for now. But before anyone can go "are you sure that's the right thing to do?" all I can say is, I've just been through so much this year lmao and it's liberating to finally do something what my hearts wants this time. I'm still studying hard of course, I want to crunch so hard all the way to my PhD if I even get one *cries in the corner* so yeah! I've thought long and hard about this and really am looking forward to join, this is gonna be such a wonderful journey! 

TL; DR: I'm joining a writing contest to ensure I don't overwork myself to the point I question my life's existence and to make sure I have time for my hobbies too <3
