Malia is a kind and lovely girl who has a strong sense of justice. She is quiet and calm most of the times, not wanting to get involved in trouble. Malia may seem mysterious to many people because she prefers to analyse, observe, study and listen to the situation rather than letting people get into her head easily. She has the habit to say that "The less you reveal, the more people can wonder".

Background :
Malia was born and grown love by her parents. When she was a young child, she was cheerful, intelligent, curious and a lovely kid. When she was still young, around 10 years old, her father, who was a policeman, was killed in duty and the suspect was never caught due to the lack of evidence.
Malia not only had to grow without a father figure in her life, but she also wasn't able to spend as much time as she wished with her mother, since her mother had to work harder in order to unsure that the both of them would be able to survive. Malia's mother, Renee, was a nurse who not only loved her job, but was also a very human and warm hearted person, with a strong personality. Many people say that Malia actually takes a lot of her mother, in terms of looks and even personality.
She grow up as an independent, confident, lovely and righteous person, who wanted to protect those who can't protect themselves, and make sure that justice is served and the truth is heard. She always managed to have the best grades of her class not only because she wanted to study to become successful, but also because she knew that she didn't want to burden her mother to pay her tuition fees for University, so she would apply for a scholarsip and therefore she needed to show that she was worth it.
When Malia was a Senior in high school, her mother was offered a job as a nurse in Westchester County and then moved there after Malia managed to get accepted into University of Wetchester with a scholarship due to her high grades.

- Malia loves her mom and cares a lot about her. Since her mother works hard for both of them, she tries not to worry her or give her a lot of work, helping her with anything that she can. Renee is a funny, warm hearted person who is honest and has a good sense of humour. However, she does have a bad temper if someone messes around with her, a trait that Malia also has, but who doesn't show that often. Many people say that Malia looks like a young version of her mother but inherited her father's sense of justice. Renee used to date Malia's teacher Mr. Haynes when they were in high school, but they lost contact afterwards.

- Malia and Kim met in middle school and became best friends. Kim moved to Westchester County before high school, but the two kept in contact. After getting back together, it seemed as if they friendship never changed. Kim is the definition of geek and introduced Malia to the world of anime. She is a Computer Science Student and is friends with Tatum.

- Malia met Nate through Kim, since they were friends. Nate is outgoing and funny (a true extroverted) and hopes that Malia tries to haver more fun than she does. He often says that when Malia gets older she should run for president. Nate is a Business Administration Student and is super charming and famous among students. He is friends with Andrew and Ruston.
Theo Reynolds, Close Friend, 21 y.o
- Theo is a Criminology and Law Student. He is friends with Nate and met Malia in a class in Law as he sit down besides her for a class and he realized that she had one of the books he likes in her bag. They became friends quickly. Theo is interested in crime and justice and often talks to Malia about that. He likes to make his own investigations and usually asks Malia for help. Theo is friends with Andrew. (imagine Jughead from Riverdale).
Veronica "Roni" Zhang, Friend, 21 y.o
- Malia met Veronica in one party which both were invited. Her friends were friends with Veronica and chatted enthusiastically while the two girls decided to just observe and let them have fun. Malia noticed Veronica doing the same and took the initiative to talk to her. They got to know each other a bit and after that whenever they saw each other they would say hello and goodbye. Malia and Veronica attended the meetings with the scholarship students and chatted a lot. The two girls are properly close, but are on friendly terms anf they speak about topics that the both of them enjoy or just want to talk about. On the day of Veronica's disappearance, Malia noticed that Veronica was acting strange and decided to talk to her asking if anything was wrong. Veronica, who was nervous, shocked her head and said that it was only stress from studying and her mother's pressure. Malia didn't buy it, but she didn't want to pressure her friend. Veronica checked her phone and nervously excused herself. Malia suspected that something was wrong, but little did she know that it would be the last time she would be seeing her friend.
Andrew Foster, Friend, 20 y.o
- Andrew is the kind of boy that intrigues Malia. He is outgoing, funny and lovely, but somehow he seems to adapt towards the people he is talking to in order to be "liked", instead of just being himself most times. Malia met Andrew through one of her friends. The two boys chatted enthusiastically about some anime and Malia joined them when she felt that the topic was on her comfort zone. Afterwards, Andrew spoke about his enthusiasm about crime investigation and finding the truth and that caught Malia's attention. They spoke about crime and justice and how finding the truth is important. After that day the two of them started talking more, even commenting about Mr. Haynes classes and found that they had a lot of things in common. Andrew once said that Malia herself was a mystery and it was something that caught his attention. On the other hand, Malia finds Andrew amusing and definitely someone she takes an interest in getting to know, but she wants to know the real him that he sometimes hide, the real him who doesn't change to be liked and which Malia finds charming.
Tatum Moon, Friend, 21 y.o
- Malia met Tatum through Kim. The two girls are quite similar and Malia found that funny. Tatum is nice and cute and gets very good ideas. She often talks about her boyfriend Ruston, but Kim whines about her own single . Tatum likes to tease Malia saying that the girl is too quiet but has her mind racing at the same time, which is amusing. On the other hand, Malia tries to make the dreamy Tatum have her head on earth more times and often tells her that if something is bugging her to feel free to speak to her about anything.
Ruston Deluca jr, Close acquaintance, 25 y.o
- Malia interacted very little with Ruston so far. She knows him because of her friends and due to Andrew and Tatum talking about him. The few interactions she had with him, he sounded like a person who is always ready to have some fun but who still has a long journey to maturity and adulthood. Even though they barely know Malia talked to him about some things that was concerning him, about his major and his actual age and afterwards the girl smiled and told him that he could talk to her if he ever needs to.

- Malia met Mr. Haynes in a class she applied for. She didn't dislike the topic and studied hard, but something that the teacher said triggered her emotionally and she raised her hand to ask a question, or better, to show her opinion on the issue, stating that she didn't agree with his view on dismissing how that could impact someone's life. Later that day she told her mom how her teacher did make her upset and she was surprised after hearing that her mother and her teacher used to date, not believing her ears. Somehow she liked his classes and although she disagreed with some of his points she still respected him and liked how he taught and interacted with the students. Same time later she found herself enjoying some of his remarks and sarcastic jokes.
Police Chief Miller, Acquaintance, 51 y.o
- Police Chief Miller is the responsible of Veronica's case. Malia met him when she went to the station to talk about the day Veronica disappeared. Afterwards she waited for updates but as the time passed by and she learned that Veronica's case was now a cold case, she felt upset. Maybe she looked at chief Miller as a representation of her father because her own father used to be a policeman, and knowing that a policeman that should be doing everything he could to find the truth but he rather just gave up, makes her extremly disappointed.
Lifestyle :
Most of her time Malia is either in class, studying or spending some time with her friends. After classes she goes home with her mother, who must probably will arrive late, and cleans the house, prepares food and does everything to help her mother.
She doesn't go often to parties because she prefers quiet places, but if her friends ask her to go with them, she may accompany them. She also likes to be involved in helping people with problems that may be worrying them and she defends minorities. She helps the student council whenever she can, so that they can deal with the student problems and even helped creating a kind of meeting for scholaship students, where they could talk about their difficulties and manage to solve their issues, or when they are facing problems (bullying, racism and so on), they can help them and make a bridge to the student council. This meetings usually occur at least once a month.
During her free time, she prefers to stay at home and read, study or watch TV. She likes to watch movies, netflix and anime. And she also likes to hear Ted Talks or anything that may inspire people. One of her to do list for the future is to start exercising (or meditating) to help her relax her mind and body.

Comments : Hi! I hope you like my little girl! Honestly I based her on the actress Emma Watson and her character Hermione. Also, I think she is similar to Wes from How to get away with murder, in many aspects. Regardless, she is someone ready to help and who wants to bring the truth and justice for everyone and strongly supports equality. Also, for a love interest I thought about her liking Andrew, but she can also like any of her friends (Theo and Nate) or any other Male character from the story!
