personality heena has a hard time speaking up for herself; she's easily embarrassed and flustered if complimented or seen enjoying her anime interests too much. she is initially very avoidant of people, although greatly lonely as she never had many friends she could truly share her interests with. heena doesn't have much confidence nor understanding of her own skills. but ever since meeting her fellow cyclists in high school, her courage and abilities have been growing and she has jumped full force into the world of bicycles. she is still easily flustered, but as time goes by and with the help of other roomates, she has developed a fierce determination that helps her do what others think is impossible.

heena throws caution to the wind and instantly bombards people with friendliness and questions when she learns they know even a hint about anime, no matter how unfriendly the person seems. although sometimes lost in her own anime world, she has a sense of what's morally right and can't stand when people look down on others or destroy the enjoyable atmosphere. she takes orders very seriously and literally, completing them by all means necessary, and is always looking for something she can do for the people she think she's close with.

heena prefers to use proper honorifics when addressing others, usually their name followed by -ssi. with older people, she'll alternate this with -eonnie or -oppa in equal amounts. with those she feels particularly close to, then she only call them by their name. she has no problem with others addressing her with what they feel comfortable with though.

heena isn't keeping everything in order just for her own amusement. she's doing it for a reason. as shy as she is, she actually loves to host guests at her room. she's going to set things up around her room that make it an easy and comfortable environment for new people and she'll work to keep it that way.

she always make sure that she is present when others are communicating. make it he sole intention to stay absorbed in the information being discussed. because she believes when she is not distracted or impatient to share her own perceptions, people will enjoy connecting with her. that's the least she can do to gain some friends.

heena is prone to doing things before she thinks them through. she'll probably go off somewhere by herself without thinking how worried everyone would be over her.

the worst of kim heena. for her, being wrong is unacceptable. even when the proof is staring her in the face, she cannot help but try to find excuses for her behavior. she hates admitting that she is wrong so strongly that she is willing to make bold claims. and like that, she tends to cry out of frustration.

background it was her first day of high school, riding her city bike, she's nearly trampled by a bunch of girls running through the sidewalk; the incident startled her, and heena thought that she'd never befriend with any other students in school (except for their anime club member), just like what she did in her previous school. instead of using the main gate to her school, heena took the 2km road to the back gate so he can ride her bike privately. however, she is immediately rear-ended by a car and is knocked off the road. the startled driver, approached heena and wass further surprised that the girl appeared to be unscathed and thinks nothing of the incident because she falls off her bike so often.

after classes, while everyone was talking about clubs, heena was determined to join the anime club, she had no one to talk to about anime and so never told anyone in this new school about her interests. unfortunately, heena found that the anime club has been terminated due to lack of membership.

in her despair, came a girl who offer her to join the school's bicycle club. at first she refused the offer of course. as much as she enjoy riding her bike, joining a club beside anime club didn't catch her interest. but the girl wasn't a quitter. she convinced heena that she has talent after she knew heena always took the 2km route and she was also there when heena fell off of her hike and still being okay with that. she said heena might be the perfect candidate for their endurance athlete.

tired of being asked every single day, heena finally agreed. as her surprise, she eventually enjoyed the club a lot. she found her new interest in bike. thus not long after her joining the club, she was sent to an event in jincheon. another surprise, she managed to steal the first place. soon, her name was heard to the talent scout.

maybe it was god's plan that the anime club was closed down so to the cycling club she goes. that way, she found new interest and not only that, it was the start of the new path on her life. after the event end, she was called to the training center and it was the start of her journey.

SCHEDULE

she wakes up at six thirty in the morning, eat breakfast, and get herself in the shower. after that, she's sipping red bean water on the couch. she then spends the remaining time to get ready and doesn't get to training center until seven thirty. during her time in roommate, she has two ways of going to training center; on rubin's motorcycle (for which, she'll make sure the camera won't catch it) (and yes rubin offer himself to pick her up though he basically lives in the training center lmao) or with her family driver. but on her normal state, she's living in the training center so she usually wake up an hour before her training start.

because she choose to focus on her career as national athlete, she took online class in the cyber university of korea majoring in korean language education (yes, she chose the easiest major one). thus in the middle of her practice, she'd open up her laptop and attends some classes. hours after her training ended and after she got back to the roommate home will be dedicated to finishing her assignments from college (if any). but if there's no task that day, she'll use her time to watch anime (plus a lil bit bonding time with everyone. again, she needs to be reminded that her aim joining the program is to gain more friends and learn how to socialize).

weekends mean relaxation for heena. she gets to sleep until noon. in normal days, the afternoon are spent spent either at coffee shops with rubin wherein they draw and critic each others for improvement or back to her home and just stay there the whole day to relax with her parents and watching her favorite anime. now when she's joining roommate, she'll follow and join everything asked by the program.

CELEBRITY LIFE

it's all started four years ago, through the support of fellow cycling club in her high school, she found her interest and superb skills in cycling. she first joined the 500m time trial event held in jincheon and surprisingly snatched the first place with ease. in instant, she became the talk around those who put their interest in cycling. the rookie cycling athlete who won the first place on her debut, they say.

life has been easy for her. yes she might didn't always stand up proud in first place but still, she has quite made remarks by her accomplishment in cycling with such young age. it motivated her more to pursue the path. through the competition, she gain quite much money, some sport brands pointed her as their ambassador. she has that fame. not as famous as idol though. but she feels grateful for that. at least she won't have sasaeng fans like idol and she still has the right to do anything she want without watched 24/7 by media.

just recently, she got more famous because people starts to acknowledge her visual. they said she has an idol material looks. thus her social media gains much followers every each day. but again, because she isn't an idol and basically spends most of her life behind taereung training center's wall, there aren't many things known by her fans. aside of her pretty face and her superb skills in cycling, they know nothing about her. she isn't the type who show much of her life in social media either. so when sbs announces they cast heena for the show, her fans are more than happy. they eager to dig more about the girl through the show.

"eum... hello, kim heena here. 20 years old, a cycling athlete."

First of all, what made you a celebrity? What industry are you in? Elaborate a bit on it all, please.

she smiles. "well, i won't say i am a celebrity as probably there are many poeple out there haven't heard my name. but i'd say i'm quite known because of my love for cycling maybe? i have been a cyclist for four years and yeah... fortunately i've snatched some medals. that way my instagram's followers keep increasing every each day."

What is your current state of living? Do you live alone? with others? in a dorm? (yeah they're blind but okay)

she blinks her eyes. 'isn't it clear enough?' she thinks to herself. "as you can see, i live in this dorm, along with bunch of other athletes from various field. too bad even we live under the same roof, most of us are drained from the training so we don't have really much time to chit-chat..." then she realize something. "or is it just me who feel that? well after practice ended i usually lock myself in my room and watching anime..." she laughs in embarassment.

how would you feel about living with a bunch of strangers?

"it's... okay, i guess?" she pause and looks at her hands. "the first time i came to the training center, they're all strangers to me though. but maybe this time, instead of locking myself and stay as a closed book, i want to learn to open myself more. i'l try to... mingle more with others."

Do you have anything like allergies, intolerances or phobias? We need to know for your safety in the roommate house. This won't be exposed to the public.

"i'm allergic to fur." she holds up her free hands. "and i'm afraid of height, loud noises, and ghosts." she shrugs. "but i think i don't have to worry about that, right? it isn't like i'm going to live in the top of a mountain or haunted house?"

heena purses her lips. "rabbit." she hums briefly before continues, "but too bad as much as i love them, i can't have them as a pet because of my allergic."

"room 203 is cute!" she points at the picture when she sees the amount of pink and the interior of the room. "but i don't think i'm ready to have two more girls under the same room with me. well even after three years live in taereung i barely talk with my roommate. so... maybe room 204 for the start. that way i only have to initiate a conversation with one person." she smiles awkwardly.

rubin is very supportive and kind, as when he reaches out to advice heena during their first meeting and during her subsequent races. he is very passionate about bicycles, often sharing some of his extensive knowledge on the subject with heena. rubin observes that he "usually has his head in the clouds" unless the conversation turns to bicycles, upon which he becomes notably more energetic and talkative. he has a tendency to "sparkle" when he becomes excited, similar to how heena acts when she becomes engrossed in talking about anime. he is described multiple times by his friends as a "bike otaku" and doesn't seem to think his passion is strange.

other side of him, he can be very stubborn. he keep at an idea or plan, or inisists on making his point, even when he knows he's wrong. as both him and heena are hard-headed people, it is possible for them to having clash because of this. also he's a thick-skinned. everyone has an opinion, but rubin doesn't really care about everybody else's. this isn't to say that he believes only his opinion matters. it does mean, however, that, in the end, his opinion is what matters most. you have an opportunity to show him evidence and change his opinions, but unless you are able to do so, he simply doesn't care what your opinion is. no matter how backwards it is.

first meeting

the two first met when heena joined the training center as rubin is also a bicycle athlete. rubin was very friendly towards heena during that time. he greeted her very friendly and even gave her a private tour around the training center. rubin gave her a feeling like they've been knew each other for long time though they actually only spent time together for few hours.

as a senior, he gave them many advices. of course in a fun way which made heena didn't feelt like she was lectured. that time, heena thought that rubin was the nicest man alive. oh she won't deny that she already crushing on him at that time. handsome, great cyclist, and kind. who can resist that charm?

development

years passed, they got even closer. he even did research to find out about heena more. well, he said he was curious about her cycling while in fact, he digged too much. he even know her birthday and held a mini birthday event for her :p

he often talks to her during their break. he pointed out things that heena still lacked and gave her some tips to improve her skills. in which heena was both embarrassed because people started to talk about their closeness some said they are dating. well yes, they are close, sometimes they hang out together, but can't she call that a date? rubin never asked her out though. he never confessed his feelings as well. so as heena didn't want to mislead his acts, she kept on her mind he only did that because he's a good person.

on the other hands, she also appreciated rubin's research on her. rubin is the one who corrects heena's saddle position during her first race after she joined the training center. he also gave her a double gear front deraileur as well as supplied her with a road racer later on. he constantly cheered heena on during races and was amazed at her rapid progression as a cyclist.

lee rubin is a nice guy. everybody would acknowledge this upon meeting him. and that's including heena. he was the first one who greets her when she first came to the training center. Also, he was the one who gave her a lot of help. heena does consider him attractive and whenever she thought of him, she unconsciously blushed. but well, she realized he's nice to everyone. doesn't want to be misled by his kindness and get a heartbreak in the end, heena tries her best to suppress that feeling.

in fact, it's kind of hard to control her feelings. the more she knows him, the more time she spends with him, the more she like him. and she can be easily flustered around him. you think it only happens at the beginning of their meeting? nope. she's still like that even until now. something that rubin finds cute.

people in the training center think the two might be dating looking at how close they are. whenever heena back to her home, rubin would always be the one who picks her up. they always go out at the weekend. but nope, they never confessed to each other yet, and he never asks her to go out with him officially either.
