Can anyone help me *cries*

So I'm not sure if anyone has seen my story feed or not lately, but I have been writing and editting a lot for my previous stories these last two weeks and starting new fic projects. Yesterday I was working from my phone using the app and I wrote ~5k worth of content across all my projects. Today I got on my laptop and noticed that it wasn't registering that I updated things from the app. So I went back to the app to make sure everything was saved somewhere and it was there. But no matter what I did to try to see the progress on my laptop it would not update anything (I tried multiple refreshes and logged out to log back in etc) so then I tried refreshing the app and it completely "lost" everything that I had saved!! SO NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!?!?!

Do I just need to accept this lost and try to rewrite everything again *sobs* The last time I lost this amount of work (well actually the last I lost content was closer to 20k words so that was a little more difficult to accept) I literally abandoned all my work because I just felt so defeated and upset.

I don't know what to do.. I am trying to not actually sob now but I definitely spilled a couple frustration tears already.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? How did you deal with it?

Also, is the app really that unreliable? I only just downloaded it and thought it was great and very user friendly, but now I just feel like I need to go back to using a web browser in my phone instead of using it at all...

Anyways thank you for taking the time to read my rant.. Any insights or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated <3

From what I've experienced, sometimes if you just leave the app open in the background (while you go to another app or turn off the screen), when you go back to the app again after a while, it refreshes the page. But if you're writing on a page that's already published (whether it's drafted or not, as long as it's been 'published'), it should automatically save (as long as you have wifi on) every now and then.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I've also been there (the amount of frustration and sadness are understandable). I suggest using Google Docs when writing. It's what I use whenever I write now because even though you lose internet connection, it still saves your progress (although you'll have to get internet connection again in order for it to be seen/'saved on the cloud' if you decide to use the doc on another computer/phone).

Please don't stop writing! Just take a break for a while until you feel like rewriting everything again. Who knows, maybe you'll end up writing something better this time around. It can happen, aha. Good luck!

I'm so sorry dear. I totally understand how you feel. Around 2018, I lost all my 23 stories just like that. I tried all I could to get it back, but it was all gone.
I've also experienced exactly what happened to you, and i had to rewrite it. After that, I started using Google Doc for my writing, and it's very helpful. It auto save written document and it's so enjoyable.

Cheer up dear, and I'm so sorry for what happened, but don't stay sad for too long, else you might get a sharp pain in your chest. It happens to me a lot.
