PERSONALITY

+Positive: Creative, Kind, Social butterfly, Caring
-Negative: Clumsy, Daydreamer, Forgetful, Sarcastic

Hao Yang is the type of person that is like the brother that always treats their siblings. Whether the members wanna go out to eat, buying snacks or wanna go places; Hao Yang would make it happen. He would get scolded for always spoiling the other younger contestants that he got to know in the show so he would tone it down a bit for a while. He is also the type of person that would volunteer to do something if no one else wants to do it. Most of the time you would see him doing the dishes since no one else wants to do it. He really looks after the younger contestants and sees them like the siblings he's never had. He loves meeting new people and most of the time start the conversation. Growing up he watched a lot of fantasy Chinese dramas about cultivating heroes. He looked up to these sorts of character due to a sense of bravery and honour the characters has. When he was younger he wanted to be just like them; I guess that some of that made its way into his own personality.

He would listen to traditional Chinese music in his free time and it's like he gets lost in another world. When this happens it takes a lot to pull him out and back to reality. He can also be forgetful especially when he goes to buy groceries he would always forget something. So everyone ends up writing downs what they need from the supermarket and give the list to him. He remembers when schedules are but would forget when dance practices are.

BACKGROUND

Jin Hao Yang was born in Beijing, China on the 18th of April in 1999. His parents were pretty well off, so he grew up comfortably. His dad is a Korean named Jin Kwang Sun and his mother is Han Chinese named Zhang Chang Xing. His father moved to Beijing for a job at the sister company. And that was how he met Hao Yang’s mother. They both got married and had Hao Yang. His mother passed away when Hao Yang was only 3 years old, so he doesn’t remember her that well. Most of the time his father would tell him about her. When his mother passed away his father had to juggle work and looking after Hao Yang. At first, it was a bit difficult and he would prefer to just stay at home to look after his son, but he knows that he also had to work. But he somehow worked it out. As Hao Yang grew up and started heading to school sometimes, he would be picked up by his grandparents from his mother’s side and stay with them until his dad would come home from work. At his grandparent's house, they would always be watching those old Chinese fantasy dramas about the ancient world of magic, martial arts, cultivation, heroes, Emperors, Princes and Princesses. Which would fascinate him and shaped his childhood. When he was about 8 years old his father took him and his grandparents to a theatre show where the performers used the art of Chinese classical dance to tell ancient myths and legends. From this show, Hao Yang was mesmerised and wanted to be apart of this world. So, he begged his father to let him learn. At first, his father said no but after constantly begging him his father finally gave in. So, his father found an after-school program that teaches this style of dance and enrolled his son. After the first class, Hao Yang really enjoyed it and would go continuously to these classes after school.

Near the end of his first year of middle school, he was walking down the hall to towards lunch when he stopped in front of the notice board when he noticed a flyer for the choir club. Staring at it he thought ‘let’s try something different’ so he went to the choir room and joined the choir club. While being in this club he realised that he also enjoyed singing, not as much as Chinese classical dance though. So, he continued going to the choir club and the after school Chinese classical dance lessons throughout middle school. When he got to high school, he also joined the choir club and continued as he did in middle school. He would also make sure he visited his grandparents on the weekends because he loves then a lot and enjoys spending time with them.

After his high school graduation in 2017, he was accepted to the Beijing Dance Academy and majored in Chinese Classical Dance. He took vocal classes there as an elective but dropped out of that class after a semester because he wanted to focus on his major. There he was able to be friends with a lot of people because of his personality as a social butterfly. He became known as the older brother who spoils the juniors in his year. He was able to become friends with a boy named Huang Li Qiang entered the academy a year after him. The two became close friends. However, there was a person who was jealous of Hao Yang named Wang Li Wei because of how popular Hao Yang was. He entered the academy the same year as Hao Yang and somehow wormed his way into Hao Yang’s circle of friends and waited for an opportunity to take Hao Yang down. Hao Yang had no idea because he never saw Li Wei as that kind of person. That was until the third year at the academy when Li Wei planned to sabotage three other students who he also saw as opponents and plant the blame on Hao Yang. Well, in the end, the three students got hurt to the point that hat they couldn’t continue studying in that field anymore and had to change major. Hao Yang tried to defend himself, but the evidence made it clear to the higher up of the academy that the main culprit was him. He was then given a choice to drop out or be expelled. He ended up choosing to drop out since expulsion would look bad on his record.

Once he packed up and went home his father was waiting for him. He knows his son wouldn’t do this and just comforted his son. His father also stormed into the academy to demand answers, but nothing really came of it. His father swore and cursed as he left the office. A few days later Hao Yang looked like he was dead inside which broke his father’s heart. Hao Yang then asked his father if he was gonna take up that job back in his hometown of Seoul, Korea. His father mentioned it to him about a week ago and was still thinking about it and that’s what he told Hao Yang. Hao Yang just said, “If you do can you please take me with you.” Of course, his father would if his son wanted to. It was so heartbreaking to see how broken his son had become. So that’s how they ended up moving to Seoul, Korea. It took a few months, but it finally happened. In between moving Hao Yang brushed up on his Korean and helped his father.

As they slowly unpacked everything in their new house in Korea Hao Yang found his old notebooks from the vocal classes at the academy and even ones from the choir club from high school. He decided to focus on singing and took up a few vocal lessons just to get back into it. His vocal teacher was impressed and recommended that he try and audition at a trainee company. Seeing as he had nothing to lose be tried out for SM entertainment which he didn’t get. He then tried for BigHit Entertainment which he also didn’t get. He then thought maybe he would have a better chance at smaller companies. So, he then tried Royce Corp which he passed.

RELATIONSHIPS

Zheng Fan Xing - 郑繁星 - Rakuten Viki

- Friend: Huang Li Qiang / Professional Chinese Classical Dancer / Kind, Loyal, Confident / 7-10

When at Beijing Dance Academy Hao Yang was friends with a lot of people. With the personality of a kind older brother, his group of friends would ‘be under his wing.’ But Huang Li Qiang has been the closest person. At first, it was admiration that Li Qiang felt for Hao Yang but after a while, it turned into feelings of love. But he’s too scared to say anything in fear of rejection and the fear of Hao Yang being disgusted with him. He didn’t know his feelings were that deep until Hao Yang was made to leave the Academy and it was worse when he found out the Hao Yang had left the country. It’s been almost 3 years and he still carries a torch (feeling wise) for Hao Yang. Li Qiang is an omega.

- Former Friend: Wang Li Wei / Professional Chinese Classical Dancer / Jealous, Petty, Manipulative / 2-10

Wang Li Wei is also a beta, like Hao Yang. But unlike Hao Yang who is the type of beta who is in the middle area, Li Wei is a dominant beta. He is very competitive and thinks that he deserves to be at the top. He isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to reach it either. When he sees that Hao Yang is popular with the other students at the Academy and was seen to be more talented than him Li Wei got jealous and saw Hao Yang as a person that needed to be taken out. But he couldn’t just attack the guy since that would make Li Wei look bad. So, the scary thing he did was to try to be Hao Yang’s friend and use that friendship to chip away at Hao Yang while waiting for an opportunity to completely get rid of the guy. He came up with a plan to sabotage three other students and place evidence so the blame would land on Hao Yang. After being forced to drop out he crossed paths with Li Wei and realised it was Li Wei who set the whole thing up. When he said that he would expose Li Wei for what he did Li Wei just laughed in his face and mocked him. Stating the fact that without evidence how would people believe Hao Yang since everything point to him. Hao Yang looked so defeated and Li Wei continued to mock him. All Hao Yang said was “Why?” as he was holding back tears. Li Wei just leaned in and told him quietly in a condescending way “It’s your fault for getting in my way.” With that, he started walking away as Hao Yang’s closed his eyes as a tear escaped sliding down his face. To patronise him even further Li Wei said, “Don’t you have some packing to do?” and left with a smirk on his face.

- First Trainee Friend: Choi Myung Dae / Royce Corp Trainee / Energetic, Bubbly, Loyal / 8-10

On his first day as a trainee at Royce Corp, he met Choi Myung Dae. A bubbly omega who’s like an energetic ball of sunshine. He was younger than Hao Yang by 2 years and found the boy was just an adorable ball of energy. Myung Dae was pretty much the first person that helped him settle in at Royce Corp and introduced him to the other trainees. When Hao Yang’s older habits start shown and he starts spoiling the younger trainees in his group of friends. Myung Dae would always be like “Me first!” which Hao Yang happily obliged. Myung Dae reminded Hao Yang of Li Qiang back in China. After Hao Yang was asked by the CEO to join the Elite program and was sitting alone to try and process it Myung Dae found him and ask if he was ok. When Hao Yang told him what happened and wasn’t sure if he should accept the offer since he didn’t feel like he was good enough Myung Dae just slapped and pretty much scold him for being so negative. When Hao Yang just said, “What about you?” Myung just told him “Hyung, don’t worry about me. I’ll keep practising and working hard to improve myself. Maybe I’ll be able to join in the future or even offered other opportunities. Just focus on what you want, Hyung.” Which is what helped Hao Yang accept the offer in the Elite program days later. Months later Hao Yang finds Myung Dae sitting on the floor in one of the practice rooms pouting and sighing. Which was an odd sight since Hao Yang has never seen the boy like this before? When Myung Dae hears Hao Yang walking up to him and sits in front of him he looks up. Before Hao Yang could ask what’s wrong he asks his hyung “Hyung, am I annoying” which surprises Hao Yang making Hao Yang think “The ” and he just says “No. Never... Why?” Myung Dae tells him about a guy that he likes but he thinks that the guy he likes finds him annoying. Hao Yang ends up trying to comfort him. When Myung Dae ask him for advice Hao Yang just says “You’re asking the wrong person for love advice because I have no idea.”

TRAINING YEARS  2 years at Royce Corp as a Kpop trainee. 3 years at Beijing Dance Academy.

TRAINEE LIFE

— Being trained in Chinese classical and ethnic music before arriving back in Korea made him different from the other trainees. When practising his vocals, a unique style shines through his singing which he was praised for. However, he found that he was falling behind the other trainees when in dance practice which is why he spent most of his nights practising until he caught up with the other trainees. While being trained in Chinese classical dance had made his body more flexible making it a bit easier to dance but having to learn more hip hop and urban dance style to be up to speed with other trainees made him really focus and try his hardest. Life at the Beijing dance academy he was able to be friends with a few of the other trainees at Blockberry Creative and others found that he has the personality of someone that’s easily approachable. Some of the trainees that were friends with him actually helped him improve in dance practices.

He was surprised that the CEO approached him about the elite program since he felt that he's still behind compared to other trainees. After thinking it through he started seeing it as a new challenge and gladly accepted. It's been about 6 months since he joined.

PRE-DEBUT

- First and only TV appearance while attending Beijing Dance Academy with some of his friends and other classmates performing a Chinese classical fan dance. (x. Longer version: x)

HEADLINES

— When Hao Yang mentioned that he used to train to become a Chinese Classical Dancer but had to end that path netizens became curious as to why. Hao Yang would give really vague answers such as “that path wasn’t right for me” or “It no longer suited what I wanna do in career-wise” but netizens could tell that he was just putting on a front. It was clear to them that he loved Chinese Classical Dance too much to just give it up like that. So as netizens do, they started digging and soon found out that he studied Chinese Classical Dancer at Beijing Dance Academy which wasn’t that surprising since a few Chinese kpop idols are alumni there. When they found out that he was kicked out for sabotaging other students to the point that they couldn’t continue studying in that field he started to lose fans. He started getting hate comments and it would get so bad for him that he would have to stop activities. Whenever he tried to defeat himself it would get worse. He thought that he could leave this part of his life behind him but it ended up coming back to haunt him. It got blown up so big that Beijing Dance Academy was then dragged into it. Graduates and even some students that still attend the Academy started to defend Hao Yang which confused the heck out of the netizens in Korea. Even one of the victims says that it just doesn't add up. The graduates and students from the Academy say that it’s not Hao Yang. Even though the Academy has closed this case everyone else who had been friends with Hao Yang at the Academy refused to stop until they find who really did it. It had been years but they stubbornly won't give up. After seeing the comments of student's and alumni of the Academy some netizens ended up helping to clear Hao Yang’s name. It took a few months but they finally found the real person who did it. It ended up being Hao Yang’s former friend Wang Li Wei. Netizen’s ended up boycotting him so much. When Hao Yang heard about this he ended up telling netizen’s to stop and just leave Li Wei alone since it's all in the past now. But it was too late, the netizen’s had ruined Wang Li Wei's reputation and career. (A/N: I’m not sure if this counts as a scandal)

FUTURE EXPERIENCES

- He would like to give acting a try

- Maybe in the future he might go on a hiatus to continue with classical Chinese dance training.

Trained in Classical Chinese Dance

WELCOME, YANG! PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR FANS!

After listening to the question he turns to face the camera and introduces himself “Hi everyone I’m Jin Hao Yang or as most of you guys know me as Yang.” He waves at the camera with both his hands.

WHAT EXACTLY IS YOUR ROLE IN ELITE?

“I tend to focus on vocals. I’m also working on learning different types of dance since I was trained in Classical Chinese Dance growing up. I want to broaden to different dance styles. Among the other trainees, I am told that I am like an older brother to them. I tend to spoil them a bit since I never really had siblings of my own. I have also been told by some of the others that I can be annoying” he smiled as he thinks of all the crazy stuff the other trainees get up to.

AND WHAT'S YOUR SPECIALTY?

“I’m pretty flexible; not sure if that counts,” he says as he continues to think about other things he’s good at. “I can also twirl and do tricks with a hand fan between my fingers,” he says as he stares at his hand while his fingers move on their own as if a fan is between his finger before turning his attention to the interviewer.

ALRIGHT. WHAT KIND OF CONCEPT OR CONCEPTS DO YOU THINK WILL FIT YOU THE BEST?

“I like more of the bright concepts, either topical house songs or slow song. Sad songs I can also do but I’m not sure about the more ‘dark and y’ concepts” he says looking slightly worried when he mentioned the last bit which the interviewer though it might be a good idea to move on to the next question.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF ELITE, DO YOU HAVE ANY WORRIES LIKE NOT GETTING ALONG WITH MEMBERS OR GETTING LESS SCREENTIME, ETC?

“I just hope that I can get along with everyone and am grateful to be a part of Elite. Because it never even crossed my mind that the CEO would pick me. So I’m not really worried about how much screen time that I’ll get, I’m just glad to be here,” he told the interviewer and started to think back to when the CEO approached him while he was in the middle of his dance training. He feels so grateful for just being part of this program.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ROLE MODELS? ABZ OR HWANA PERHAPS...?

“I really admire Vira of ABZ and how he leads ABZ and how he can keep his band member together. Also, Hyoji of HWANA not only for her strong vocals but because of her confident personality and how she carries herself,” he answers looking proud and determined to be like his role models.

AND LASTLY, DO YOU HAVE AN IDEAL TYPE? AND IF SO, WHO DO YOU THINK BEST SUITS THAT?

He just smiled and let out a sigh because he was hoping this question won’t be asked. “No. I don’t really have an ideal type. For me, if I like someone then I like them. It just happens. Sorry, everyone. I know that’s not the answer that you want but I really don’t have an ideal type. Maybe try asking me in the future when I have matured a bit more, I might have a different answer. But at this stage, that’s just it…Sorry,” he says with an apologetic face.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS, YANG! ANY LAST WORDS?

He turns to the camera “Hang tight everyone. More content from us soon. Byeeee!!,” he says as he waves to the camera.

LOVE INTEREST  Abe Takeshi

BIRTHDATE  September 5th, 1993

FACECLAIM  Takuya + Cross Gene

NICKNAMES

- Senpai: It's a major turn on when the person he likes calls him this

you want! totally optional!

PERSONALITY

Abe Takeshi is a big flirt and has a playful allure. He enjoys flirting and could flirt to break the ice with someone. He considers flirting a fun way to interact and may flirt just to be playful, rather than to interest someone in developing a romantic relationship with him. He finds the different reactions of people that he is flirting with interesting. In a way, it’s a good thing because it can improve the self-esteem of the person he flirts with. So yeah, he’s flirted with a lot of people. However, when he started getting interested in Hao Yang he went from 1 to 100 which was a bit much for Hao Yang to handle. When Takeshi found that what he was doing wasn’t working and that it had made Hao Yang start to avoid him he realised that he needed to tone it down which is what he did. Takeshi is the type of person that loves to be close and touch the person that he likes. So when they are together you would see him touching Hao Yang one way or another; it could be hugging or grabbing his hand After getting close to Hao Yang, the boy found his sunbae kinda romantic, a bit clingy and childish towards him. Sometimes Hao Yang finds it hard to believe that Takeshi is older than him. It’s also hard for Hao Yang to believe that the y beast on stage is the same person that uses aegyo and puppy eyes to threaten him.

LOVE STORY

Takeshi first saw Hao Yang during a dance training session where Takeshi joined another dance trainer to conduct the session. Hao Yang was at the back when Takeshi spotted him he thought that the boy was pretty and kept a lookout. But Hao Yang didn’t notice since he was trying to keep up with the trainer at the front and with the other trainees around him. During the dance session, he would see another trainee next to him kind of help him out a bit. After the dance training session as the other trainees were heading out of the room, Hao Yang was still around the spot where he was the whole session with two or three other trainees just talking about something while catching their breath or rehydrating. Takeshi decided to walk up to them and praise them for the good job they all did today glancing at all of them. But when his eyes landed on Hao Yang his eyes lingered on the boy a bit longer.

After a while, Takeshi would notice Hao Yang more often. He found that the boy would treat and spoil the younger trainees most of the ones in his friend group. He would notice that other trainees would want to be friends with Hao Yang or be under the boy’s wing because of how he takes care of his friends. Which is what he found attractive and be drawn to Hao Yang. The boy cares for so many people but who cares for him. After thinking a while he wants to be close with Hao Yang and be the person that cares for the boy. At first, when he started to pursue Hao Yang he might not have noticed himself that he took his flirting level from 1 to 100 real quick. Which ended up scaring Hao Yang away and started to avoid him. Takeshi didn’t know what he did wrong and it wasn’t until other members of ABZ who either knew or were starting to catch onto Takeshi’s fascination to one of the younger trainees pointed out to him that he should tone down his flirtiness. Which is what he tried to do. At the start Hao Yang would still try to avoid his sunbae but after a while warmed up to Takeshi and thought that his sunbae wasn’t as bad as he thought. Whenever they both were free Takeshi would hang out with Hao Yang and they would learn more about each other.

One time when Hao Yang was just sitting in the practice room on his phone in one hand and the other one just twirling a basic hand fan. Takeshi spotted him in the room all by himself so he when up to the boy and sat next to him. “Hey sunbae,” Hao Yang said still scrolling through his phone as he places the folded fan on the floor in front of him. “I saw you dance yesterday” Takeshi suddenly said which made Hao Yang put away his phone and turned his attention to him. “Oh. You did. Well, I’m working hard to try and be as good as the other trainee” Hao Yang told him with a smile. “I can see that you’re working hard but that’s not what I’m referring to,” Takeshi said which made Hao Yang tilt his head in confusion. “I saw a video of you and a bunch of other people dancing with fans on a show that was part of the….um I think it was the CCTV network in China” Hao Yang's face went from confused to shock because when he mentioned the network Hao Yang instantly knew what he was talking about. “What? How? I never told anyone about that. Sure it’s out there for the public to view. But how did you even find it?” Hao Yang was embarrassed because his sunbae found a video of his old life. “I’ve been binge-watching Running Man China for the last couple of days since I’m bored with the Korean one. Now Youtube has been recommending other Chinese show and I saw in the thumbnail of a video of someone that looked like you. When I watched it, it ended up actually being you. But Oh God you were so daebak” Takeshi explained as he was so excited and Hao Yang had his face in his hands with a soft groan. Wishing that the floor would swallow him up. “Can you show now?” Takeshi suddenly asks which pulled Hao Yang back to reality “Wait… What? No!” Hao Yang declined. “Please” Takeshi begged. “No!” Hao Yang declined again. “Pretty please. There’s already a fan here” Takeshi begged again but this time with his secret weapon. When Hao Yang saw Takeshi’s puppy dog eyes he had to admit defeat. Hao Yang let out a sigh “Fine” was all he said as he was getting up. “I can’t believe you’re older than me” he mumbled so Takeshi could hear him as he heads to the door. He stuck his head out, looking left and right before moving his head back and closing the door shut. “I’ll just do the ending,” he told his sunbae as he shows the part of where to start the video on Takeshi’s phone and his sunbae set up the sound Bluetooth to the speaker. Hao Yang picked up the fan and got into the position and closed his eyes. As listened to the music his body moved to the memorised movements. It really had been so long and he missed it so much that he briefly forgot that Sunbae was in the room with him. As Takeshi watched Hao Yang he saw how much passion Hao Yang’s movements showed. Which made him wonder why Hao Yang had given it up. But he dared not to ask him since he can sense that it’s a touchy subject. When Hao Yang finished he was catching his breath while Takeshi was just blown away by his performance. It had made Takeshi’s crush Hao Yang so much more. (A/N: The video that Takeshi’s referring to is linked in the predebut section, its the shorter video, and the part starts from 2:28 to the end of that video)

Months later around the time after netizens had found out that he was kicked out for sabotaging other students while attending Beijing Dance Academy and it was around the height of all the hate comments and him loosing fans that Hao yang was spiralling into depression again and was too afraid to go on the internet. He was sitting in one of the practice rooms in the late afternoon with tears streaming down his face while shutting people out and isolating himself from everyone. He had both his legs close to his chest with both hands hugging them and his chin rested on his knees just staring at nothing in particular. Myung Dae was trying to talk to calm him down and comfort him. He had never seen his hyung like this before and seeing how broken Hao Yang was he had a feeling that Hao Yang couldn’t have done what people have accused him of. However, it didn’t work even for Myung Dae so he told Hao Yang that he’ll be back and went to find what he thought was the only person that might be able to get through to his hyung, Takeshi sunbae. Takeshi was in the lobby with a few of his other members when Myung Dae rushed up to them excused himself and started dragging Takeshi as he frantically explained the state of Hao Yang which made bolt to the practice room that Hao Yang is always in. When he got there saw the object of his affections broken as another tear ran down the boy’s face. The scandal associated with Hao Yang he had heard about but he had a strong feeling that it wasn’t true. But didn’t know that it would affect Hao Yang this badly. He went up to sit next to Hao Yang but the boy didn’t notice until Takeshi place a hand and quietly called out to him. When Hao Yang turned to him the boy looked like he wanted to start crying again. Takeshi just put his hands around the boy and moved his head to lay on Takeshi’s shoulder as Takeshi started his hair. “I didn’t do it but was still blamed. I’ve moved away from trying to start over but it still haunts me. Won’t this nightmare end” Hao Yang said in between sobs. Hao Yang’s words sounded so heartbreaking as Takeshi listened to them. After a while of Takeshi whispering soft comforting words to Hao Yang that he realised that Hao Yang had fallen asleep on his shoulder. Takeshi let out a sigh thinking “He must have been exhausted from everything and cried himself to sleep. Poor thing” and Takeshi leaned close to Hao Yang. “You look after so many people but not yourself. Let me look after you” he said in a soft voice as he looked down at the sleeping Hao Yang. After that Takeshi was always there with Hao Yang until the whole scandal blew over.

COMMENTS

Sorry for the mess that is in my app. I just had too many ideas and notes that I just put them all in at the start and might have forgotten to delete some that don’t make sense with how the final character turned out. Also sorry for the horrible personality parts. I’ve never been good at writing personalities.
