my graphic designing evolution (2014 - present)
a few months ago, i started getting back to graphic designing as a way to de-stress myself from writing on this website and i re-opened my graphic shop walking-paradox. restarting to design made me remember why i even started designing in the first place -- it's fun and it's a really cool process where you get to bring someone's story to life. it's the first thing that a lot of users check out whenever they come across a story (& so much for never judge a book by its cover lol).
i taught myself how to graphic design back in 2013 because i also wanted to gift posters to my favourite authors as a way to thank them for writing such amazing stories. i wasn't much of a commenter (& the same still applies today, but i'm working hard to fix that haha). going through my portfolio made me reminiscence about the times when the graphic designing & coding communities were so active and as prominent as the writing one, and how a lot of graphic and layout shops got to be featured instead of stories, which caused some drama, if i remember correctly. nonetheless, i was able to make so many friends that were not part of the writing community and it was definitely a different dynamic.
i posted this as an archive/portfolio chapter on walking-paradox -- aka my graphic shop -- and i just thought it was cool to see how my skills as a graphic designer have evolved (or deteriorated lol). anyway, here are some of my works/posters that i have designed over the past couple of years on aff (or at least, those that survived my continuous portfolio spring cleaning).
from oldest (2014) to latest (2020), except for 2018 when i was on a hiatus until late 2019 -- enjoy! xoxo
