Of Love and Math (plus a greeting ^0^)

"and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one."

Mark 10:8

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

Genesis 2:24

What do these verses mean? Two become one? If I put this is in a mathematical equation:

1 + 1 = 1

0_o But that is incorrect. How about this?

1 x 1 = 1

^0^ So it is not addition, but multiplication.

Hmm, does everyone have a value of 1?

What if one is not whole (e.g. 0.5), because he/she is broken inside?

And because he/she feels she is missing something, what if he/she looks for another person to make her whole? Humans tend to match more or less with their equal don't they?

Then... it would look like this:

0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25

Ehh -_- That is not good. He/She becomes less of a person... no longer 0.5 but 0.25.

The only way to become whole is to ask God to complete you, to fill up the emptiness inside you and to mend the broken pieces. A mere human cannot do it for you.  If you are not emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, socially, spiritually and all -lly prepared, don't rush in getting into a relationship.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...

Ecclesiastes 4:1

While waiting for your prince, be the princess he is looking for.  And for the princes out there, don't stray from your destination.

Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.

Song of Solomon 8:4

Finally,

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 4:23
