Soft silk, pastel colors, and chokers. Long hair, sparkling eyes, flawless skin. Apollo has always been drawn to these aesthetics, and strived to uphold every single one of them.
Traditionally feminine styles have been more appealing to Apollo than what masculine fashion has to offer. He loves looking and feeling pretty, taking pride in his appearance. Whether it was a show, interview, performance, or even just the airport, Apollo obviously but a lot of effort into his look.

With everything he does: fashion, speech, music -- Apollo has always known to be bold. He's the type where if he hasn't tried it, he's going all in without holding back. He enjoys going outside his comfort zone, never backing down from a challenge. He gives it his all, every single time. Nothing holds him back, and nothing should. Compelling is probably an adjective often used when people are asked to describe Apollo. One could talk to him about anything and everything for hours, and he'll always have something to say on the subject matter. He's naturally charismatic -- a total people person and knows how to work a room (or audience). Apollo is witty and creative, making everyday or mundane things a show or performance for people to see and enjoy. Many can say he's also very observant with people. It's easy for Apollo to read others and therefore interact with them appropiately. If he doesn't sense ingeuninity from them. While he can tell that it's not their true self, he can't exactly figure out what they're hiding and who they are. Never one to want to blend in, Apollo prides himself on being an original with his own thoughts, morals, and style. Traditions and expectations (especially those that are socially enforced) are hardly ever a consideration for him. Apollo is Apollo and he never wants to change that. Of course, he can be ambitious and a dreamer, but hardly is he ever impractical about things. Life is too short to ponder the 'what ifs' and the potential projects, or to hold back anything other than sincerity and truth. So Apollo makes sure to be as straightforward as possible, to ensure he says what he means and that it can't be misinterpreted. Better to make mistakes and learn from it than live in fear of failure and ridicule.
Ah, of course, Apollo isn't just the beautiful outgoing idol you see on TV. He's human too, and most everyone has flaws that can hinder their lives. Apollo, though straightforward and at times harsh towards others, is quite sensitive. He does want to be himself and is very intune with his emotions. However, this means he's very emotional and vunerable to criticism. Especially when it feels like everyone's against him -- as a people person, pleasing the majority is a priority for him and it can cause him a lot of distress when in that situation. This is probably what could be considered his fatal flaw: how torn he is between wanting to be himself and the need for other's approval, and consquently hating himself for wanting/needing such a thing. While Apollo claims to be conflict-adverse, he's actually quite the instigator, especially if it amuses him. He gets bored too wasilt with a repetitive lifestyle and seeks thrills, risks, and self-indulgence. Never mind that someone may hold a grudge against him, it's fun in the moment and that's something he craves. He finds it fun and hilarious to tease fellow company members, shooting off at the mouth or riling them up about something embarrassing from the past. If you give him a reaction, he'll continue to chase it whenever he finds the urge. Long-term? Plans? What are those? Apollo doesn't know them. When it comes to interacting with people or having fun, Apollo can be one of the most focused people ever, but as soon as it's over -- such as being forced into rehearsals, recording sessions, etc. -- anything that's not fast paced, he becomes unfocused and aloof until something sparks his interest again. Lots of emotion + surpressed depression and insecurity = An extremely reactive individual. Apollo is such an individual who has strong feelings -- especially about comments of his appearance. Haseon is the middle child of an American born Korean mother and a Daegu native Korean man. With two sisters, the only male person he could look up to was his father, but his father and him never truly bonded. Haseon was drawn more to what his sisters were doing, participating in their dress up games and letting them put makeup on him, playing dolls and other traditionally feminine activities.
His father never liked this, and while he never spent much time with the kids, especially Haseon, anytime spent with his son was doing "boy/manly activities" like sports, getting dirty, rough housing, etc. Haseon would whine and complain about how he was ruining his new shoes or that he wanted to play in the shade with his sisters. The only thing that sparked Haseon's interest was soccer, and he continued playing and watching the sport until the present day.
It was never enough for his father, though, and Haseon would continually get made fun of and yelled at by his father, threatening to take away his dolls or his dresses that his mother allowed him to have.
This didn't make for a very happy marriage, and at age 9, his mother divorced his father, taking the kids and moving back to Seoul to live with her parents. The change was startling and difficult for him and his sisters, being so young and then being uprooted to move to another city. Though, after the initial transition period, Haseon found himself thriving in this new city.
Why? Because in no uncertain terms, Haseon was free. Living with his mom and grandparents let him explore and be himself more than ever. If he wanted to wear pink or pretty clothing, mom would be more than willing to take him shopping and find things he liked. When he wanted to learn about skincare and makeup, his sisters were more than willing to help him out to help him look and feel his best. Oh, and when he wanted to grow his hair out? "It's your body, you can do whatever you want with it!"
Just because home was better didn't mean school was. Kids are mean, and especially boys at the middle school age. Haseon would get roughed up, his hair pulled, called "sissy boy" because of his appearance often in school. Hell, even a few male teachers gave him a hard time and would call him "miss" -- whether it was accident or not, it didn't matter.
He was barely 13 when High Rise scouted him: with his pretty face and lithe limbs, the entertainment company certainly thought he'd do well in one of their boy groups to be, or even as an actor.
Being a trainee might of been harder than school, Haseon thought, because it was grueling and demanding. Between that and school, he never felt like he got any time for himself. The best part of his day was when he could dance.
Haseon may not be the best dancer, but he loves the freedom of his body that dance gives him. When it wasn't training time, he'd find himself memorizing and trying new dance styles and routines on his own -- the expansive collection that he could look through in the genre of dance was inspiring to him, and he yearned to get better at expressing himself through this art form.
Vocal lessons came a bit easier once his voice decided to stop cracking, developing a smooth, clear tone that was unique to him and definitely impressed his coaches enough to recommend him at 15 for the final lineup of the boygroup Re:Vive. It took almost another year for him to train alongside his soon to be bandmates, and then at 16... he made it.

At least, that's what Apollo believed, and tried to keep it as platonic as possible, but he was developing feelings for his older teammate, and honestly, he was at hiding his feelings.
People noticed. Sean noticed. Rumors went around, and they reasoned that it should've been obvious that Apollo was gay because of "how he looked and acted".
...What the hell did that mean? Apollo was hurt, and this time he couldn't even go to Sean for help because management made them limit their time together. Sean even seemed uncomfortable when they were allowed near each other.
Management was harsh on their young member, especially one male who constantly spat venomous words at him, telling him he was a good for nothing and that if he looked more like a man and acted like one, no one would be in trouble and he'd be better off for it. Apollo tried to ignore it, he did.
Between the fans and that manager, he tried to stay strong.
But then it happened.
Between Love Me Right and BST, before the concept of their new comeback was even announced, the group was hanging out, and Apollo just wanted physical affection. He thought it'd be okay to try and ask Sean if he could cuddle with him.
Sean shook his head, his expression twisted in distaste. "No, I'm not gay, Apollo."
"I know that -- I'm not trying to hit on --"
"It sure seems like it." Sean snapped, "Look at you, even trying to look more like a girl with your stupid long hair and pretty face, even dressing like a girl. It's weird. Who'd want to be associated with that?"
And there it was. Apollo's heart broke into a million pieces and something in his soul just... shattered. If there were protests and scoldings towards Sean, he didn't hear it. The visual just got up and walked to his room, locking the door. For some reason, he couldn't cry, he just stared at himself in the mirror, for the first time hating the way he looked.
Late that night, Apollo snuck out and bought terrible hairdye and a pair of shears.
The next morning, his long hair would lay haphazardly chopped on the floor of his room, the smell of dye reeking from the bathroom.
And Apollo had short, cropped black hair. It looked awful, and managers fussed at him for making such a terrible decision and went with him to get it fixed at a salon.
No one noticed that his smile for the next few years never reached his eyes. He was more distant from s, and revealed that he now lived in separate apartment from the rest of the group.
He stopped wearing anything other than dark colors, his smile not as bright as it used to be. He distanced himself from the members, managing to be friendly when on camera, but little to none interaction outside of what their contracts forced them to do.
Apollo, for years, would feel alone and start to lose himself, slowly but surely.

With High Rise trying to reconnect and promote new and old groups, his anxiety skyrocketed over the idea of seeing Sean again -- the ex-member was still apart of the company and may return for a Re:Vive reunion, and ever since 2018, he hadn't spoken to him.

He adored Sean, and the older seemed to like him well enough too, often letting the younger cling to him, and generally was affectionate. After rumors and lockdowns on their interactions surfaced, Sean became cold and mean. It broke something inside Apollo. Sean left Re:Vive for military service and came back to the company, focusing on solo work and production.
Zhang Wei | 1989 | Former Re:Vive member (leader, lead dancer) | Kris Wu (solo) | Apollo never leaned on Zhang Wei that much, simply because their leader had their own problems with the company. After the elder members left for the military service, Zhang Wei left the group to pursue music production and directing instead. He still is under contract with High Rise, and once mentioned on social media he wouldn't mind performing with his group once more.
Lee Kibum | 1992 | Former Re:Vive member (lead vocal) | Park Kyung (Block B) | Kibum wanted to be a solo artist, so when Re:Vive started their military services, he jumped in, and when he came back, asked for a solo career. He got one, but it wasn't very exciting and while loyal fans stuck by him, he eventually left at his contract renewal to resign under a different label. Apollo hopes he finds success and finds a sound that is truly him.
Do Baekhyun | 1994 | Re:Vive member (lead rapper) | MJ (Astro) | Baekhyun was a good guy, Apollo guessed. He wasn't sure, he wasn't really close to the 94 trio. If he had to guess, Baekhyun would rather be underground and releasing mix tapes, but he has to wait out until the end of his contract this year. Who knows what will happen, but Apollo doesn't wish any ill will upon Baekhyun.
Bae Daeho aka Dae.B | 1994 | Former Re:Vive member (lead dancer, vocal) | Hongseok (PENTAGON) | Dae.B honestly... wasn't cut out for idol life. He didn't like Apollo and after the whole incident before BST, Apollo blocked his number and only ever acknowledged his existence during contracted appearances. Dae.B left for military service and never came back after he was released. Good riddance, in Apollo's opinion.
Kim Hyun-shik | 1994 | Re:Vive member (triple threat) | JB (GOT7) | Hyun-shik, after Soomin and Sean, seemed to look out for Apollo the most. Recently Hyun-shik came out in support of the LGBTQ+ community, attending Pride events and even performing his own music. Hyun-shik was the only member to really reached out during the time Apollo up and moved out, but Apollo kept his distance. Hyun-shik was one of the more popular members so he's doing well, and they appear on shows together occasionally. Hyun-shik had admited to be dating someone seriously and Apollo wonders what they're like and who they are.
Min Youngsoo aka Soomin | 1995 | Re:Vive member (maknae, main rapper) | Woozi (SVT) | While they were born of the same year, Soomin and Apollo didn't get that close until after they were placed on hiatus in 2018. Soomin is quiet, though happy in his own right. Soomin tried to make amends with Apollo, apologizing for never standing up for him back then. While it was late and not from the people who really hurt him, Apollo accepted his apology and they talk occasionally, sometimes having coffee together.

god, this guy. honestly, even though he's kind of an , myunghwan got the first real laugh out of apollo in a while. so he considers them friends, much to the smoker's horror. if apollo catches him smoking, he grabs the stick and throws it over the railing or out the nearest window. apollo mostly likes to watch myunghwan work when the other will let him -- and myunghwan tries to see what exactly this pretty boy is hiding under that face of his. he can see it, as an artist and someone who's also hurting.

his precious niece and nephew. he adores these two and would do absolutely anything for them. apollo finds himself the closest to his actual self when he's with these two. jieun is incredibly smart and has no fear of the world, while kiwoo toddles after his big sister babbling nonsense to try and keep up. and apollo? he spoils them and tries to be better for them.

Chulwoo first laid eyes on Apollo while he was on TV. Chulwoo had a younger sister, so when she gushed over this group called Re:Vive, he decided to be a good big brother and stay up to watch their performance.
...He'd say he only kept watching because it made his sister happy, but honestly, he was also becomign a fan of the group, especially the guy his age with the blinding smile and beautiful hair.
Fast forward to the end of 2018. Chulwoo was now a taekwondo instructer for younger kids, and starting signups for the new year. During the open house, a five year old approached him with round chubby cheeks and a wide smile.
"Hi! I'm Jieun and I want to learn how to flip people!!"
Soon after her mother appeared, holding a baby boy and scolding Jieun for being so rude and running off. Chulwoo, however, was soft for the little girl already and told the mother, now known as Haseul, he looked forward to having her in class.
It was a few months later, and Apollo got a call from Haseul one afternoon. Kiwoo was sick and she couldn't pick up Jieun from her taekwondo class. Jieun had been begging to see her uncle soon anyways, so it would mean so much to her.
Apollo didn't need all that much convincing, so he put a mask over his face and headed out. Jieun, as always, was very excited to see her uncle, and she pulled him over to meet her teacher.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Jieun's uncle, Ha--"
"Apollo." Chulwoo looked a little starstruck, before blushing and apologizing, "Sorry, my sister loves your group. I've seen you perform."
"Oh." Apollo smiled, "Well that's so nice, uhm --"
"Chulwoo. Sorry again, I'm just, wow --"
Apollo tried to waved him off and pick up Jieun.
"You know, T.V. really doesn't do you justice."
Apollo felt his face was permaenantly red by the time he and Jieun walked out. Chulwoo wanted to chuck himself out the window. He just met the prettiest boy he'd ever seen and of course he acted like a fish out of water.
The next time they saw each other, Chulwoo was visiting his father, who happened to live in the same building. Apollo was just getting his mail when he heard his name.
When he turned around, he immediately flushed. It was Jieun's taekwondo teacher, and he could't help but replay their precious conversation in his head.
Despite trying to avoid him (Apollo was embarrassed, while he loved compliments, receiveing them in front of his nIECE? oh go d) Chulwoo can be very convincing (Apollo is WEAK his smile literally made his heart do a funny thing).
So that's how they ended up having coffee in his apartment the first time. It was nice, to have someone in his apartment that wasn't his sister, but he couldn't help but glance around the room, looking for any kind of little thing or object that could make him the subject of ridicule.
It never came up in their conversations, however. Chulwoo talked about his job and being involved in taekwondo tournaments, he asked about Haseul and her kids and his role as an uncle... Never about him being an idol.
Their coffee talk winds down and Chulwoo knows he has to leave, but looking around the apartment, he's noticed that it doesn't... feel like Apollo -- or Haseon, for that matter. It doesn't seem like it was made for him. And neither do the dark, baggy clothes the idol was currently wearing either.
Chulwoo once again couldn't control his mouth, "I... miss you wearing pink."
The whiplash that Apollo got from turning to look at him should've hurt more than it did. Chulwoo turned pink.
"I... That came out weird but --" He stumbled, "I just remember.. you wore pink a lot. You always looked good and brighter... when you wore it. Just... wondered why you stopped."
Apollo had to choke down his coffee to calm himself before speaking. "O-oh... yeah... Well, concepts you know? I don't have... control over what I wear a lot anymore."
"Huh... I guess that's true." Chulwoo sighed, "Just would be nice to see you in pink again. That's your favorite color, right? Jieun told me."
Wow did Apollo just melt??? Just a little bit. He'd also have to give Jieun something a little special for "letting that slip" to her favorite teacher.
The next concert/event or show/interview he attended, he catch a flash of... soft in the corner of the stylist's studio.

He picked it up, holding it to the stylist's attention. "Can I... wear this?"
Soon enough, Chulwoo coming over for morning/afternoon coffee became habit. At least two to three times a week, Apollo would find himself opening up and letting in the little ball of sunshine that was Chulwoo.
Often times, Apollo was still guarded, still was careful over what he talked about and what he wore. even his language. But Chulwoo never seemed to care or mind.
If Apollo mentioned something about how much he loved hugs, suddenly, Chulwoo was giving him a huge hug everytime he saw him. Once time, he found fairy lights that Apollo had hung up a long time ago and tried to hide behind curtains and insisted on hanging them back up and turning them on. Another time, he found out about Apollo's entire matching pastel kitchen set and demanded it be brought out and starting a baking fiasco in the kitchen.
Slowly, surely, and hopefully, Apollo began seeing more of his thigns around his apartment. More fairy lights, more sheer pink or blue curtains with lace, even his collection of soft overstuffed plushies began finding their way out of boxes and into the apartment.
And each time, when Chulwoo discovered something new, he'd just smile widely and give Apollo a hug. Also, that oversized Pikachu he's been hiding? It's Chulwoo's cuddle buddy during their evening movie nights now.
It goes for a while like this, and finally one night, Chulwoo works up the nerve to ask.
"Hey... you don't have to answer but... What happened when you cut your hair off? You changed. You've gotten better, but... you just really weren't the same after that."
While Apollo didn't want to talk about it, something about the way Chulwoo looked at him with nothing but sincereity in his eyes, or the way that the taekwondo artist gently held his hand when he saw Apollo tense up, it just...
