Any money I receive through Patreon is not for me but for the artists I commission and ultimately for the fans who will enjoy the artwork. To be clear, the only reason that Joan appears white in the illustrations is because I am mostly white. I am a “nosebleed” Indian, but thankfully I don’t get nosebleeds. When I spend money out of my own pocket, Joan will be white because she is a self-insert character for me. However, if a Patron ever hands me $100 and requests a black Joan, I will seek out the best artist I can find who will work within that budget and make it happen.
