she was known to be a talkative brat. always telling stories to her tutors as a child instead of focusing on textbooks ( she's still a child after all ); and that didn't changed until now. she would always have stories to tell and experiences to share. however, there would also be moments that she becomes absent-minded, staring at thin air without even thinking of anything. pink velvet would usually call it monkey-charge since she seems to have more energy than before after she snapped out of her daze.

considering that seolbi's a coward when it comes to angry people, it was the same thing when it's the other way around. she's not much of an honest person either, no matter how loud and talkative is. if she's annoyed or pissed at something, she wouldn't put it bluntly, per say. rather, she would say something vague until that person realizes it. it's difficult to deal with this part of seolbi really, since it'll be hard to solve the issue if she's not going to directly say about it.

due to the fact that her mother's been pressuring about being just as perfect like the rest of the family, insecurity had always been her bestfriend. she had a reputation to keep and the constant "do it better" statements from her mother wasn't helping at all. she had always felt like she wasn't enough and that serves a heavy weight on her shoulders when her mother pressured he tor join for miss korea and being the visual of pink velvet.

moody and unpredictable, nobody can really tell when seolbi would have one of her breakdowns. since she had anxiety, there can be cases when she becomes volatile and ends up crying in the middle of nowhere. It became quite a stressful work to keep an eye on her mental health, and sometimes seolbi even acts too childish for it. she hated being babysat and being treated like a child--despite the irony that that itself is her acting childish.

oh how much she recented that. it's true that her beauty serves justice to that statement, but it was her heart that wanted to go against it. her mother had been nothing but controlling over her. strict and overbearingly annoying. she felt like she's merida and her mother is queen eleanor.
if archery had been a way of escape for merida, dancing is seolbi's archery. it's a surprise that no one in the family had been totally inclined to the arts, but it's not as if seolbi gives a damn to that.
dancing has always been her escape from the chokings of her mother's.
while she was taught by her tutors the basic academic eduction she needed in the day at the age of 5, she decided to let her body move with the music under the moonlight.
while she was taught to be a proper lady at the age of 6, she tried to becoming a ballerina at night; standing on her tippy toes and spin infront of the mirror.
while she was taught how to properly smile infront of people in the morning at the age of 11, she taught herself to feel anguish and sorrow as she danced her way in the bedroom with contemporary music in the background throughout the night.
while she was taught how to do the catwalk under the heat of the sun at the age of 14, she chose to learn hiphop while watching boa perform on her phone with the stars watching her.
her mother made her do modelling for 3 years. and despite those 3 years and the fact that she finally had the chance to actually go out of the mansion, she never had a chance to gain friends since her mother had always been uptight. always dragging her out after the shooting to go back into training and studying. she literally had so little time to socialize; and her co-models only ended up beig her acquaintances instead.
and that had always been the cycle in her life. while she may have not gone against her mother's wishes to be home-schooled while teaching how to be a pageant queen by her mother, she surely didn't broke any rules either when she's studying dancing on her own inside the four walls of her bedroom.
CHAPTER 03
she and her older brother of 6 years, seonghyun, are close. very close.
seolbi looked up to him very much, despite that seonghyun had a more normal childhood than she has. he studied in a school, had gone outside more than she could, and even has friends that sometimes visited their mansion.
seolbi never thought of it as being unfair. she knew she couldn't do anything about it. it's not like she could go agaisnt her mother anyway. and even if she told this to her father, he would only fail since he loved her mother very dearly.
it was nice that seonghyun had been the best brother she ever had, but it seems that their mother wanted them to be just as equal. to both be the best.
seonghyun's intelligent, handsome, and well-mannered. he aces all subjects, loved by all people and favored by most teachers. their mother took pride in that. for seolbi? sure she's beautiful, she's quite intelligent too ( but not the same as her brother ), but was she favored by her tutors? by the guests in their mansion?
not really.
although she was raised to be a proper lady, was far from being one. she's a quirky child, not stopping herself from talking and talking. even her way of eating is something her mother had truly despised.

seolbi was skimming through the net when she came across an ad from bighit entertainment that there's an audition going on, she knew that this was her chance.
for once, she felt like rebelling against her mother. after all, the cat's already out of the bag and it's obvious that her mother would go against it.
she asked her brother about it, and thankfully enough, he was okay with it. ecsastic in fact. he was aware of how much seolbi felt like choking whenever she's with her mother. and he knows how much she wanted to dance too, so she's safe to say that there's at least someone who can defend her back on this.
as for her father, it's a surprising fact to see that he would support her as well despite her mother's wishes.

the younger female stunned the judges by her dance moves and wonderful facial expressions. even if some of them had already accepted her in their head because she could already be passed as a visual, her dance skills is just the cherry on top.
trainee life was the opposite of what seolbi expected. it was hard. probably harder than her usual beauty pageant training wherein she has to do the catwalk in 6 inched heels with 2 thick books on top of her head. dancing for more than 12 hours with only a few 10 minute breaks, 3 hours of vocal training, and even the dreadul 2 hour training to just rap tongue-twisters, seolbi felt awful.
nevertheless, that didn't stopped her. unlike the training she faced under her mother's survaillance, she actually felt pretty free in bighit. she was happy with it, and even the trainees enjoy her jolly company. the teachers sometimes worry about her mental health whenever she felt like she's not good enough, but they could also see the hardworking and dedication she's putting into her training. as if she's trying to prove someone wrong about something.

kind of like family? i mean, we're actually close-knitted. i mean, they mentored us so we often see them during our pre-debut days. they helped and guided us on how to be proper idols and how we should treat our fans and all. so i confidentally say that they're also like my brothers too
WHO ARE YOU CLOSEST TO IN BTS?
seokjin and jimin sunbaes! they're my mentors too so i often hang out with them. me and seokjin sunbae share the same sense of humour so imagine us throwing jokes at our own group members. jimin sunbae on the other hand is kinda like my therapist-

tae sunbae! he's actually pretty cool and handsome too. a bit serious but hey, that's wat i needed too to get back to reality if ever me and seokjin sunbae are too deep into the joking world. also, he gives really good tips whenever i had a hard time singing
