Quick story from today: 

So, I think this au pairing thing is going to go really well. When I was finally, FINALLY almost asleep on the second plane (I almost never relax enough to sleep on airplanes despite all my travels), the stupid pilot blasted us as loud as possible over the PA system out of the blue just to tell us his stupid name.
Admittedly, I reflexively shouted out, "Holy ! What the was that?!" 'cuz he startled me awake and so badly. (I have become irrepressibly foul-mouthed lately in case you couldn't tell.)
The trio of French college-aged girls behind me giggled and repeated my reaction in fake whispers to each other for like ten minutes. It went a little something like this—

French girl 1: (presumably) Did you hear that? heeheeheehee
French girl 2: Hahahaha! 'Holy !'
French girl 3: 'What the f-f- HAHAAHA- was that?!'
*cue endless, poorly covered giggles and choral repeats*

So, you see? I taught natural, oft-used English perfectly without even trying! I got those girls to do drills by themselves, and they're big kids! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Yes. 'tis I, [name redacted; heh], teacher extraordinaire. Inspiring people all over the world to pick up and enjoy English!

Bonus story: So, there was a bit of a mix-up with my host mother about the matching of our arrival dates and going to Logroño together from Madrid. I ended up getting here a day or two earlier than she will from her business trip.
I was like, "Just great! Of course!" you know? Then chickadee puts me up in the Madrid Marriott Auditorium completely free of charge. You know, the nicest and biggest hotel in all of Europe? Did I mention that the room she chose for me is a Premium King room?
I miiiight be okay with being here a day or two extra after all! XD
