Chen rarely pass up a good opportunity to learn something new, especially abstract concepts. This information isn’t usually absorbed for any planned purpose as with studying at school, instead Chen just finds it fascinating. He has a tremendously flexible mind, and is able to shift from idea to idea without effort, drawing on his accumulated knowledge to prove his points, or his opponents’, as he sees fit. Nothing is quite as enjoyable to Chen as analyzing problems from every angle to find the best solutions.
Combining his knowledge and originality to splay out every aspect of the subject at hand, rejecting without remorse options that don’t work and presenting ever more possibilities. Cheng and Xing Li were engaged to be married since Xing Li was born, and grew up quiet close. There was never love between them, but a close companionship and dedication to one another. Xing Li was once in love with a Dhampire, and this was a subconscious factor that pushed Cheng toward the support of families such as Kim Jaejoong’s, who believed in the support and power of the Strigoi. Cheng used his opportunities provided by the Kim family, to murder Xing Li’s lover. However, it was framed on a different Dhampire. He used this tragedy to have her join him.
By the time Chen was born, they were dedicated members of Jaejoong’s family’s cause. However not long after Chen’s birth, his mother was killed by a crazed werewolf. This caused a rift in the family, and Cheng refused to look at his son longer then necessary, since he reminded him too much of his wife. As a result, Chen was brought up by a revolving door of maids and nannies, who never seemed to show him enough affection to fill his void. That is until Cheng announced Chen would be gaining his godfather Jaejoong as a mentor, the one person who seem to actually care for him other then his cousin Ming Xi. Chen was very excited about this, and put all his effort and passion into doing what would make Jaejoong proud.
As a result, when he goes to stay with the Yingsu Council, Chen is requested by Jaejoong to undertake a huge job. He would monitor the school and children for a while, before officially enrolling at the school under the guise of a Chinese exchange student. While there, he would befriend and seduce Mishil, so that she would let her guard down around him and eventually trust him enough so that the Council would be able to kidnap her with ease. He takes the job willingly and excitedly, because he would be able to prove his dedication to the Council this way.

But when he didn’t quiet take into account, was Seokwoo’s jealousy...or Mishil’s feelings for Seokwoo.)
