"It's okay to cry."

Last night I watched a youtube video, an interview with an Indonesian singer/song-writer about the songs in his new album. The album's titled (and concept and theme) is translated to "Spells". He said that the songs in his album are based on his personal experience, and how in every songs there's at least a sentence that is a mind "spell" for him.

Every song tells a different story. One is a reassurence that "everything is going to be okay soon, "it is not your fault that everything feels/turns wrong", "hard times shall pass and just let go, helps will come find you when time is right." When he was telling the backstory of this song, I cried. Well, I cried before explaining about this song, but when he explained about this, I just kinda... lost it. I didn't wail, I didn't sob, it was just... I don't know, tears just came out and it didn't stop. He said that it's okay to cry, it's okay to seek help, especially professional help.

"People are afraid that when you seek profesional help, they will think that you're crazy. Or they're afraid that it will be expensive. Don't be. It's okay, seeking professional help doesn't mean you're crazy, you just need help."

He also said, "Just cry, don't be ashamed to cry. Cry is our body's defense mechanism against stressfull situations. If you don't cry, it's even worse because you keep everything bottled inside. So, it's okay to cry."

And so I cried... still no sob, no wails, just never ending tears. Felt a little better somehow.

I hope you guys can easily express your feelings, and not keep it bottled like me. Have a nice days, guys.

Love,

Bunga

PS: I want to link the video, but it was in Bahasa Indonesia and there's no eng sub so... you won't understand haha (and the songs are in Bahasa Indonesia too)

Such a meaningful song. Can you tell me the title in Indonesia and the Singer name? Thank you. You are right . We should never be afraid to show or express ourselves . Self expression is just as important as self discovery .
