appearance » Matching her soft demeanour and image, Areum is often seen sporting a small smile at all times. She has fair skin, dark hair (which she isn't a fan of dyeing weird colours), and red lips. When the cameras aren't rolling, it's not rare to see her frowning or with a judging look on her face. She has regular piercings on both ears and loves wearing earrings whenever she can, often the long and dangling kind. She tends to keep her make up light, just enough to accent her features without overpowering them at the same time. She stands at 163cm with a regularly maintained weight of  41kg; thinner than what's considered best for her, but she can't help but be conscious of her weight, especially as an idol with a nickname of Barbie.
 

style » She is often styled in light colours, whites and pinks that give her that gentle sweet girl look, along with skirts and flowery tops. If she had it her way, she would actually prefer shorts or jeans along with darker colours and maybe a few bolder accessories - chokers, sunglasss, and the like - but due to her image she's stuck looking like a fairytale princess half the time. Areum's extremely conscious of keeping a good image up as well. Even when it comes to the shows she's on, her attire has been strictly planned out.

 

Her house clothing are still branded shirts and shorts, despite being plain in design, that still show her figure well. She wears a light, chiffon type of sleeping dress normally, but due to the nature of the show and the fact that it'll be shared with guys, she's decided to wear long sleeping shirts instead. For formal events, she would love something that was more mature than cute, but often still gets stuck with innocent dresses paired with heels. On a day off where she gets to hide who she is though, catch her rocking dark colours and boots instead of her usual attire.

SOUTH KOREA'S PRINCESS?
Soft, sweet, and graceful, it's no surprise that looking at her would give you the same vibe as looking at rainbows and butterflies and flowers, like bright sunshine on a dreary rainy day. At least, that's what they're trying to sell her as. Due to her delicate, feminine features, it seemed only natural that she would be given such a persona. When the cameras are rolling, you can expect nothing from her but the sweetest words and cute, innocent expressions. She's careful with what she says and does, playing the role scarily well since she figured this was what she had to do for the rest of her life, after all. Even if she rarely speaks out, her natural beauty attracts attention regardless, giving her all the screentime she needs.

 

 

MORE LIKE SPOILED BRAT.
Born and raised like a princess, since she's the only child of a filthy rich family, Areum's used to getting what she wants. She's also fully aware of the advantages being pretty and talented can get her in life. With the acting out of the way, she's cold and calculating, often quick to judge and not afraid of speaking her mind. She's blunt to the point of insulting sometimes, often using her status and beauty against other people, which makes it hard to get along with her since she does have a princess complex you have to deal with. She hates being placed in situations that require her to be formal and sweet, especially if there's no cameras around anyway. She knows her job as a idol is to sell herself and make people like her, though, which she has no trouble doing as well.

She's not all bad, though; despite being spoiled from a young age, she was still quick to learn that not everything will be handed to her on a silver spoon. She's hardworking to a fault and despite knowing what her pretty face can get her, hates hearing that it's all she has. She wants to be known for her talents and passions, too. She likes winning and isn't afraid to play a little dirty to do so as well. She knows she's hard to get along with, but she does appreciate the people who don't immediately shun her away and actually take the time to get to know her. Since it does take her some effort to make friends, she's fiercely protective of the friends that she does have. background » Jin Areum grew up in a huge house, surrounded by everything she ever wanted. She was praised often for her good looks to the point that she got quite sick of it, and wanted to be known for something else, so she strived in every other field and did her best to excel. Due to the way she knows she does her best, she developed a kind of princess complex where she lives and breathes being better than everybody else. Before all this though, she went through a period of being bullied in school solely because she was pretty, which toughened her up and molded her to be fierce and aggressive when needed. Boys often only liked her due to how she looked as well, so she never dated even before being a trainee. 

 

family » She's not that close to her family, so I won't add much here except maybe a general overview of their relationship. Her parents are still together, but often busy due to business trips and what not, since they're in the top richest families in South Korea. That also means they're rarely present during her activities, but they do support her and are alright with her pursuing an idol career. She's an only child. That fact that she came from a rich family isn't something that comes up often, but when it does, it makes her awkward to talk about it. You can make up any of the other information, if ever needed!

BEST FRIEND: Park Jihyo, 22, 97liner. Big sister Areum never had, the first one to break through her Ice Princess persona and brought her closer to everybody else in TWICE, for which Areum is eternally grateful for. Even though Areum now gets along with the TWICE girls often (just often and not all the time, since she does still have a mean streak in her despite being the team's youngest), she has a very special place in her heart for Jihyo in particular. She goes to the elder for advice on practically anything, from idol life, to life in general, and eventually with her problems regarding Jeno.

 

 

FRIEND: Hwang Hyunjin, 18, 00liner. When news about Hyunjin's personality issues arose, Areum knew it couldn't be true. Even if she wasn't close to Hyunjin then, she's seen how he was and knew he was a reserved, sweet boy overall despite his clearly good looks. She felt it was unfair that he had to go through such a scandal when she was the living breathing embodiment of everything people were bashing Hyunjin for - good looking, bad personality, that was her, right? She gains a sort of soft spot for him, partially out of guilt, and decides to befriend him. Since they're the same age, they get to talk freely, but hardly see each other due to busy schedules especially with Stray Kids still working hard to climb the ranks.

 

I wanted to add in Minye into this as well, but I wasn't sure how Minye would take someone like Areum, so I'll leave their relationship to your discretion!

TRAINEE BACKGROUND » It took her a long, long, long time to get along with everybody else. She knew she had to play nice with the other trainees, but also couldn't shake off how she really is when it came to achieving her dreams, which meant that technically everybody else was competition. She would often be the best trainee during evaluations, earning the envy and admiration of others, but she brushed it off and tended to isolate herself. It wasn't until she was approached by Jihyo without a trace of judgement, complimenting her skills rather than just her beauty, did she slowly decided to open up with the rest of the girls. 

I'm also gonna be honest with you, mate, I don't follow girl groups that often so I had no idea what happened during their show Sixteen. Hopefully it's not that big of an issue? ; n ; 

 

IDOL BACKGROUND » Hailed as JYP's favourites, TWICE very quickly raised in popularity with their catchy songs and even catchier dances. Areum was great at what she did; it helped that she genuinely loved performing on stage and being with the other girls, but having to keep up her sweet and demure image did take its toll on her. She had no choice, however, since she was warned by a few managers and JYP himself once before no matter how pretty she is, her bratty attitude will get her nowhere in the industry, so she either had to make it work or leave the company. Everybody knows how seriously JYP takes the image of his artists and how much he genuinely takes care of them as well, so Areum's extra careful at all times. Her image was also brought about due to how young she was when they debuted. She figured that doing Idol House will also be a piece of cake since she's already so used to faking her way around everybody, it would just be another job.

 

Other than her group activities, she's also being eyed as a potential new actress for a few shows, so she's currently undergoing more intensivie acting training.

 

DATING BAN? » YES / NO » Ah yes, the infamous JYP dating ban (see: Day6). Okay, so I chose both options BECAUSE as I was searching around for this application, I found out TWICE's dating ban was literally just lifted since it's already their third year. LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!
Ever since his debut with NCT Dream, Jeno has been the Nation's Favourite Son, with his charming eye-smile and sweet personality. He's well liked due to how polite he is, always bowing a full 90 degrees when it comes to greeting his sunbaes, always opening doors, always with a smile on his face. No, but really, when does this guy not have a smile on his face? He pretty much made it his trademark by now. He's always kind and gentle, rarely reacting loudly (that's Donghyuck's job) and if he does react, it's always with a soft voice that's perfectly manufactured to make girls swoon. He's also a pro on stage, matching anything from cute and bubbly (Chewing Gum, My First and Last) to NCT Dream's more recent concepts (Go, We Go Up), which often leaves people reeling at how diverse his skill set is. When praised, he'll smile shyly and try his best to divert the attention somewhere else. Basically, he's a mini Prince Charming that people would love to keep in their pocket.

 

 

BEHIND THE SCENES.
Turn the cameras off, pull the curtains down, and you have the real Lee Jeno. Arrogant, brash, and hot tempered, it's a surprise to everybody who knows him that he can pull off being kind and gentle so well. He's good looking and he knows that damn well, growing up used to getting his way due to his natural charms, which eventually turned him into a brat even SME has trouble controlling sometimes. They couldn't exactly let him go since he's bringing so much to the team, undoubtedly talented. It's not that he isn't a nice guy because anybody can attest that he does take care of his friends and family well; just ask Na Jaemin for that one. It just takes a long time for him to open up and trust people, so he tends to keep a cold front to ward people off. He's strictly business unless otherwise specified, treating everything as a job that he has to do well, even any blossoming romances get the same treatment.

 

 

RELATIONSHIP »

 

AT THE BEGINNING.

When Jeno and Areum met, everybody was quick to comment how they looked picture perfect for each other. It made sense, right? TWICE's princess with NCT's prince, a match made in heaven for the two angels, who merely smiled and laughed at the whole thing, shaking their heads and claiming the other was far too good for them. All good, humble acts that people bought and only resulted in them being paired together further. They didn't have a clue how the other person was like at the beginning, keeping up the facade with everybody else in the show and especially around each other, careful to only be on their best behaviour. At least, they weren't sure if their hunches were correct. Areum could easily pick up the way Jeno's smile would reach his eyes a little too much, while Jeno could tell how utterly bored she looked half the time when the cameras weren't on her.

 

UNFOLDING.

Eventually, Jeno calls out Areum for being fake in front of the camera, which Areum easily retaliates with her own observations about the other. With the cameras gone, so are their fake personas, and out come their real thoughts. Jeno is every bit as arrogant as Areum is, while Areum is far from scared to speak her mind when it comes to Jeno's sickeningly sweet fake acts. With their covers blown and their on screen relationship a hot topic, the two agree to play their sweetness for the show and for their careers, acting like high school students dancing around a crush. Jeno's the perfect gentleman, while she's the sweetest girl alive. It's not like they were ever going to really fall in love with each other anyway. They were similar in all the worst ways possible.

 

BREAKING IT DOWN FURTHER.

Areum isn't the type to trust guys easily, often worried that they only like her for some made up fantasy that she's sweet and submissive when she is anything but. However, things are beginning to change when it comes to Jeno. After sharing a rather personal moment with each other ((this is totally up to you)), they see each other in a new light, shedding even their armour but not without constantly worrying over it. Jeno finds himself calling her Princess without the sarcasm, while Areum finds her heart responding. Unfortunately, this all happens a bit close to the end of the show. Will they continue whatever was started in Idol House?

 

SCENES » 

- Jeno being a natural gentleman for her, treating her well on the show and looking out for her; even if she knows it's part of their agreement to play up the romance, Areum starts to think some parts of it were beginning to feel a little too real.

- Areum subtly cheating at one of the games, but plays it off like she has no clue and everybody believed her easily except for Jeno, who couldn't help but scoff at the scene, despite being mildly impressed.

- Areum opening up about her growing feelings and confusion for Jeno to Jihyo and / or Hyunjin. I'd also be okay with her doing so with the girls of the show.

- If we're getting the boys' side of things as well, I'd love to see Jeno talking about the same concerns with Jaemin, who is the literal definition of sugar spice and everything nice. Maybe his best friend can knock some sense into him.

- I'm not sure how it can play out in the story, but I want to see Jeno's hot temper in action, maybe even by accident? Maybe Hyunjin visits the house and he finds himself more jealous than he expected.

- Both of them having a dilemma over how their feelings are slowly becoming more real, but they both think the other person genuinely doesn't like them due to how fake everything has been, overthinking everything until they realize they want to give it a shot anyway.

- I'm a er for romance scenes in general, so I'm also pretty excited to see what you have in store overall.

comments/suggestions » oKAY I have to put it out there that I love Jeno and I truly do believe he's a sweet gentle bean with the most sincere eye smiles to exist, but I can't help but think that it'll be pretty interesting especially for a reality show that he has this kind of double side to him!!! I hope it's alright with you that he's painted in this light. I may have based my character on what I did for Jeno instead of vice versa. I love what you have planned out so far and I can't wait to see where you take this story. Good luck with the story!
