— 165cm short, 42kg light and drop dead gorgeous. Inhumanely starved with a perfectly sculpted face. Heeyeon has doll-like facial features; symmetrical face with big sparkly brown eyes and a straight tall nose. It was as if when God created her, He knew she was gonna grow up to be a perfectionist. Heeyeon has long brown hair that stops at her chest. She changes her hair colour as and when she feels like it. Why? Because she can. She who starves to be like Barbie, has a small frame, long arms and legs that makes it perfect for the camera. She is also seemingly frail and small.

But like her crazy brother, she thinks that she can pull off anything. Which may not be untrue... Elaboration. Heeyeon has a self-centered facade and she always seems like she is prideful and egoistic. She does that as an illusion to herself that she really loves herself. But the truth is, Heeyeon is insecure and fearful of people having high expectations from her because her brother is Heechul, and her skills can't be 'sub-par'. She is strong willed and will do whatever she can to achieve whatever she wants to get. Though, she is well aware that she is blessed with uncommon visuals.

She is also brutally honest and direct. She feels that being right/ getting the facts right is important. She will constantly be found debating her way through things, and unsurprisingly, she's really good at it. She feels that teenage girls today are way too sensitive, emotional and seem to be needing protection 24/7, and she wants to break that stereotype of young girls being 'easily damaged'. Being. aware of that, she behaves in a way some would describe as 'bratty', 'y', or what she prefers - 'savage'. She speaks her mind and is seemingly unafraid of making mistakes.

She does have a compassionate heart for people even if she doesn't like to show it. She gives anonymously to charity organisations and does volunteer work a few times in a year even in her busy schedule. Ssince she's not very good at expressing herself, she tries her best to provide for these organisations through monetary means.

She is strict with others and way too hard on herself. Being a perfectionist, she wants all things to be perfect for others and more so, herself. She doesn't want to show her vulnerable side to anyone because she is afraid to be hurt so she chose to be strong and seem scary.

On top of being Heechul's sister, her visuals alone are already eye catching. Her seemingly harmless small frame often cause others to underestimate her. Her sharp tongue has broken hearts of many men and for Heeyeon, she's too driven in her life to fantasize about being in a romantic relationship. She's just growing herself till the day she shines.

background. She grew up being "Super Junior's Kim Heechul's sister". Loved it when she was 11, hated it when she's 21. She was an accident and her elder brother is 12 years apart. Madness. Her parents weren't young and Kim Heechul left to audition for SM when Heeyeon was young. Life wasn't easy for Heeyeon and she most definitely didn't enjoy leading a boring life in Gangwondo. What can she do, grow potatoes? The slower and calmer lifestyle in Gangwondo didn't suit her diligent and workaholic character. She didn't want to live a life in the same cycle as everyone else.

She studied in a small art school in Gangwondo. All her teachers and classmates had high expectations for her. Why? Because her brother is an idol. She should be oh so fantastic in dancing right? Wrong. Dance was never Heeyeon's forte. Though she did have a considerably good voice, plays the acoustic and electric guitar, oh and also the piano, she couldn't dance. She.couldn't.dance. She was somehow always lacking strength and slightly off beat. And she was really shy and afraid of others' judgement. The eyeballs that wouldn't leave her made her so conscious that it was hard for her to perform completely. People spoke behind her backs and eventually spoke in front of her, commenting on how she'll never be good enough. Though she felt affected, it didn't affect her training harder each day. Just that all these negativity shaped her into this crazy that many are all afraid of, exactly like the ignorant Kim Heechul.

In 2012, she went to Seoul and auditioned for SM while Heechul was serving the nation and of course, SM accepted her. When Heechul figured, things didn't go well... Heechul got really mad and the thing is, he only knew she was in SM when he passed by a studio to see his sister floppingdancing in there. As expected, he barged in and wanted to drag her out of SM. But Heeyeon is no longer that sweet innocent shy child Heechul remembered her to be. She didn't budge.

Just like any other siblings in real life, Heechul and Heeyeon have a love-hate relationship, or actually, they love each other yet it seems like they are killing each other because they both are bad at expressing true love and care for each other. Even with his sharp tongue, Heechul would say ridiculously mean things about Heeyeon, but behind all that, he is seen casually adding money to Heeyeon's bank account and buying her food while she's practicing.

Trainee years. 6 years (2012 - 2018)
trainee life.

— Entered SM in 2012 through SM's notoriously-difficult-to-enter weekly auditions. She sang fairly well but SM was more attracted by her great visuals and figure. Her personality wasn't very likeable and she made many enemies during her trainee period. In addition, Heechul did not admit to her being his sister, so nobody knew about her being Heechul's sister. Though hardworking and talented, Heechul secretly found ways to pull her down and spread false rumours about her just to get her out of SM, saying things like 'she speaks without thinking and she's crazy', 'she dated many men and broke all their hearts because she's lost her mind'. He was overprotective and didn't want her to be in SM. He hoped that Heeyeon could lead a normal life like other kids and not follow his path because it was difficult for him.

Because of some small rumours, it spread and somehow the story flipped the wrong way. Apparently because of her unfiltered speech, people have been saying that she was a bully in school, which was why she was outcasted in school. She eventually became extremely outcasted by all the trainees so she did many things alone. Things got so bad that she could no longer stay in the dorm and eventually moved into Heechul's apartment. Then came another rumour of her dating Heechul. Somehow, she once again fell into the same situation as she did in school. But because she's used to it, she was even more unfazed. On purpose, she chose not to explain any of her false accusations and just went with it. Because nobody was gonna listen anyways.

When she's stressed, she found herself sitting in a corner with her guitar singing and playing new songs. Heechul then, got her her own midi and she begun to produce her own songs. 
She played her self-written song during one of her evalutions, and when EXO's MID album was released, it hit Heeyeon that she in fact, ghost wrote EXO's The First Snow. There were many similarities of the song that sounded exactly like her song and even the lyrics. When asked, all they said was that they did not remember how her song sounded like.

After that whole situation, she was moved up to a higher class to train with the stronger trainees. Maybe she was noticed, maybe SM felt bad? She didn't know but one thing she knew was that she couldn't catch up. Her singing was fine, but she just couldn't dance well.
Though she left the toxic trainees, it wasn't easy for her to meet friends among the higher level trainees either, until she met Woolim.  The training rooms got quieter after Red Velvet debuted. In 2015, Heeyeon began to train with the trainees in the debuting line-up and moved into their dorm. Right away, she knew Woolim because she was a well-known trainee. Woolim knew her as well because of how infamous she was. But despite that, Woolim was unafraid to approach her. Heeyeon didn't smile much but did come to a neutral relationship with Woolim. As time passed, Heeyeon's tsundere personality prevailed and she was always buying drinks and passing out dry towels to the other trainees...with the straightest face. The other trainee eventually began to include her, especially Woolim, who constantly reminded the rest to not treat Heeyeon differently. Slowly but surely, many of the trainees became comfortable with the sassy, crazy and most absolutely funny and loveable Kim Heeyeon.

Heeyeon is a mess but apparently, Suho is the only guy that seems to be able to 'tame' her. He admires her hardwork and sees a fragment of himself in her. On the surface they seem like close platonic friends but Heeyeon never treats any man like that. Heeyeon hardly has any close friends and Suho is the only friend that knows all about her. When he was younger, he had a model student image and always seemed like this good guy. As he got older, he just became more of an 'old guy' because his dad jokes became more prominent. Though, Heeyeon doesn't actually hate it. He's also the responsible leader of EXO. :>

love story. 

— She met Suho who smiled at her once when no one else did. At first, she just ignored it. Then, during one evalution, she played her self-produced song for the trainers and they said it sounded typical. At that moment, a few debuted idols sat in to observe the trainees and one of them was Suho. After the evaluation when Heeyeon was back in her practice room, Suho went in and told her that he really enjoyed the song she wrote. She was surprised at his comment and continued to talk to him. Though she didn't say much, somehow they got closer after that incident and Heeyeon grows to become an EXO-L. They would often greet each other when they meet in the company and send emails to one another because they were not given phones. Heeyeon found herself pouring out to him often and he seems to be the only few people that were trustworthy, because outside, Heeyeon seems so strongheaded but inside, she is actually fragile and broken. He slowly learnt abut Heeyeon and got drawn by her strong facade and her soft heart. He thought she was a pretty interesting girl and he liked the fact that it's so difficult to make her laugh, yet she sometimes laughs at his dad jokes because no one tries to make Heeyeon laugh. Unless they want broken bones.
 

the ending. 

— its an ongoing 'some' relationship. it's ambiguous, they both have feelings for each other but nobody's saying anything. They just remain as bestbest friends through their idol days. You can spot eye contacts during SMTown concerts and Suho seen dancing to Blue Moon's choreos + Heeyeon dancingbadly to EXO's choreos.
