the rose is beautiful until you pluck it

a big hearted child ready to hand out food to all the homless at the break of dawn, no matter how many times her father complained that she was wasting money on useless things, rose was someone who wanted to give back to the world. she's well aware that she has the capability to do so and will stop at nothing to see another's well being, especially those who are less fortunate. rose is the type who would build schools for homeless children to attend and fetch the doctor from across town personally if she bumped into someone sick. rose has a big heart and easily sympathizes with others, even if they don't deserve. she can just be robbed but would note that it was an act of desperation then proceed to give the crook another bag of money, urging him to build a business or do something productive with it so he can change his life. because rose just wants to see evryone's well being, she's quick to make friends with all those she comes across, asking whether they need help or just giving off good vibes to everyone she encounters. she likes to meet new people and easily attracts others with the warmth she radiates. although she's born with a silver spoon, she respects everyone as humans, and gives the benefit of the doubt to everyone. as mentioned before, once rose comes to a decision, she's not one who's likely to change it, unless someone was to get hurt because of it. she had her moral compass in the right place and stopped at nothing to do what she deemed was right. 

 

    and all that's left for the rose is to wilt     

sometimes people change for the worst, and unfortunately, this is true for rose. all because of one man by the name kalum. after he destroyed her world, rose was left to pick up remnants of her crushed soul. and she picked up the wrong pieces. rose began to despise nearly any female that entered kalum's line of sight, her jealousy making a play in her thoughtless vengeances. she'll hurt girls simply because it seemed like kalum was interested, a digusting sense of satisfaction when she sees their lives fall apart; like hers. also too absorbed in her need for vengance, her mind sometimes wander way out of hand. constantly in worry from being found out, guilt building up inside her from her past actions that caused harm, and just feeling like god doesn't want her life to be good, she tends to overthink where she ends up being  out of reach from reality - to the point that she sometimes think she sees something that didn't actually happen. either that, or she just allows herself to be lied to because nothing much matters to her right now besides kalum. allows herself to be taken advantage and doesn't feel anything from it. one other thing rose still cares about though, is her appearance because that's what drew kalum in to begin with. so she still does dress extravagantly and likes to change her wardrobe every month. her face may not be glowing as she's walking down the streets anymore but at least her clothes are.

rose was the apple of her household's eye. she was the pampered princess of the family and although spoiled, she showed everyone a kind heart. the servants loved her, her parents adored her, even the granny selling desserts in the streets will offer her some for free due to her usual good nature. and being a beauty herself, she soon made a name for herself as one of the most prized flowers of hajnal. that was until, she runs into kalum, literally. rose was feeling a little playful and pranked daisy with a bug candy that still managed to scare her servant. daisy wasn't one to get scared easily - except when it came to bugs. so as rose tried to run away from her servant's chase, she ended up in the arms of kalum. kalum was hooked on her beauty and soon took more time to wandering hajnal looking for her. he could have just made her enter the palace and become his ...... whatever they call it. but kalum knew himself that he didn't want that committment and just played around with rose outside. she was stubborn and refused to give him what he wanted - he had to work to get to rose. and it was okay because her kind nature and bright personality was something he liked to see. rose was 22 at the time - kalum was 21.

her family finally found someone worthy of their prized flower before the end of that year. kalum catches news of this and decides he needs to act faster. he manages to convince rose to give him her ity, a night before she was set to marry. and rose who loved the man by then gave in to his pleas. the day after that, kalum expected rose to enter the marriage carriage to be shipped off to her new husband. he'll miss her, but he'll get over her soon enough. he wasn't expecting her to run back to him nor announce to her whole family that she has slept with hajnal's king. but she did, and her marriage was cancelled quickly. ever since, rose has been wanting to see kalum again, to convince him to take her hand in marriage. she's okay with not being queen, she just wanted to be with him. kalum had none of those ideas in mind. "you should have married the rich heir. i don't love you that way." in the beginning, rose thought with time, kalum can grow to love her. but kalum stopped seeing her, after bedding her one more time as goodbye.

that was two years ago, and rose has been a changed woman since. instead of her usual vibrant energy and warmth in her smiles, rose wore a blank face, if her eyes weren't swollen from crying, and you can see the traces of water running down her cheeks. she's now known as the girl who threw herself at the king and was rejected. there's no chance for a marriage nor did she want one that's not with kalum. the hope she has that he will change everytime she searches for him in the market is rudely awakened when she sees the way he acts towards multiple woman over the two years. and eventually, rose reworked her mind to want to see kalum suffer for all the pain he caused her. and for all the lies he's probably feeding these poor women as well.

"you're different. you intrigue me. i like being around you. but all that aside, you have to understand that the relationship between us is not long term." all words spoken by kalum at one point. she was gorgeous, he was interested. until he finally plucked the rose and lost his attention for it shortly after. he fed her little lies to get what he wanted and didn't treasure rose as the person she was. now, she's hell bent on bringing forth all the pain she had to go through because of her love for kalum. hatred that equates the love she once had for him, rose wants to witness kalum hurting. except, underneath all the pain she wants to see kalum go through because of her, even more of her still has that tiniest hope that he will one day return to her side. so until then, she'll pluck away his allies in hopes to leave him fending for himself until he either wilts altogether or brings her back to his side for support.

25 // witty, caring, selfless, stubborn, blunt // servant 

sister of another blood, daisy is the servant blessed to have been able to serve her kind master. rose never treated her as unequal, even stepping in to fight against her parents when they wanted to reprimand daisy for little things, usually if it resulted in rose nearly getting hurt. she saw first hand what rose's love for kalum did to her and knows as a servant, she does not have a lot of say if rose orders her to do something. nonetheless, daisy tries her best to make sure rose isn't too tipped from the balance and tries to help her rationalize her feelings or courses of actions. when rose says she wants to see scars on a new girl kalum is interested in, daisy would begrudgingly do her bidding. but if it involves taking anyone's lives, daisy will never allow it. she's also not going to allow rose to live with the guilt of things she has done to some of the innocent, putting all of rose's faults on her own shoulders because rose has gone through enough already. it pains her to see such a drastic change in rose and has formed a hatred for kalum; even more when he had the nerves to flirt with her. so as long as rose's plans to hurt kalum doesn't involve the innocent citizens of hajnal getting hurt, daisy's more than okay with it, even sometimes advising rose on the courses of action she can take to fulfill her plan.

good evening? look at the dull sky tonight. where are the stars? they disappeared just like the love of my life, without a trace, and without a word, abandoning everyone who await them whole heartedly. they disappoint all those who have expectations of them. but yes, good evening i guess. 

current rulers? i have no stance on either of them. i don't want to be involved in any politics, and i don't want to think about the royals. so excuse me if i don't have any opinions for either of them.

i have no thoughts about his royal highness. not anymore. not after he threw me away like a used rag.

i don't want war to happen. the citizens are innocent and they'll be sure to end up in the crossfires. this is unfair to them, being dragged into something they have no say in if it happens. the only way i can help out in the war is provide rations and money needed, maybe get some people off the streets. but other than that, i'm not sure what else i can help with.

i wonder what thoughts run through traitors? why would they choose to betray the kingdom? has me wondering if even you can be trusted. what if you're the traitor? what if you are trying to frame me? tell me traitor, why are you betraying your kingdom?

traitors should be apprehended at all costs, otherwise the citizens of hajnal will get hurt. we should be doing whatever it takes to weed out the deadly.
