nickname(s) »
– susan par :: her father was orignally going to add in an english name but he decided against. however, when they entered guam, he realized that his daughter would have a hard time fitting in with others thus started calling her susan. she plans to legally add it to her name making her 'susan lai ram par' (soon in the near future)
– choi areum :: when susan entered korea as a trainee, she thought it would be fitting to have a korean. this helped her settle in along with eliminate choosing a stage name. now why did she choose areum? because she doesn't view herself pretty so as a way to self boost her confidence, she chose areum.

– susie/susie q/lay/lee-lee/lea :: these are generic nicknames that acquintances and friends call her. she usualluy doesn't mind but in reality, she really detest being called lee-lee and lay – blackhole/dog/human trashcan :: her close friends call her this due to the fact she can intake so much food and take big bites. she also isn't picky at all and eats the leftover of her friends as she sees as a waste of good food.
– smart one :: she honestly is conflicted with this nickname due to the fact that she doesn't see herself as smart. however, growing up, many fellow students and teachers stated that she was pretty smart and always referred to her as the "smart one". fans found out about this and started calling her this much to her liking yet embarsment
– dark soul :: this is more of a adjective nickname in terms of what her friends refer to her when introducing her to others or when she arrives (e.g. 'the dark soul has arrive'). the reason being is she looks innocent as she quote on quote 'looks like a pure and innocent smol middle schooler but in reality is a dark with a scary possessed soul'. the reason this came to be is that she doesn't find blood disgusting and has her sporadic crazy moments.
– liar :: susan's real name, lai, is actually pronounced 'lie' but she usually doesn't tell them her real name upon meeting new people and introducing herself. however, later in her friendships when they become really close does she reveal her name to which everyone, even those who known her for over 10 years call her liar. in fact, she has gotten use to the pun to which almost everyone uses automatically when she reveals her real name or her real name is revealed.

– chin/haka chin :: technically this is her native tongue as she grew up speaking this language. however, around the age of 5, her parents stopped speaking in this language in the sake that their daughter will learn how to speak english. she wasn't introduce to language again until a much later age around the age of 8. it was hard as she understood a majority of it but couldn't speak it nor write it and read it. however, lai was determined to learn her former native tongue. she picked up the language and is pretty good at it as she is semi-fluent, making pronoucation mistakes and lacks the knowledge on what certain words are and mean. her reading is pretty good as she can read a good 90% and understand it while writing is still a rough spot due to the fact that she has yet to actually self-teach and practice it.
– american english :: in technical terms, english is her second language but eventually became her main language then to her okay language (if that makes sense). around the age of 5, she attended pre-k in a private school to which she was taught english and spanish but was speaking chin. this caused her to speak a mixture of the three language to which her parents stop speaking in chin and put her in private tutoring for english. thanks to this, she learned english very well. of course, she is mainly fluent in the language, seeing how proficient she is in all three aspects of the language. the only problem is slang along with abbreviated text words since she really doesn't keep up with modern times.
– gyeonggi korean :: this will sound very koreaboo-ish but when she hit fifth grade, lai thought it was time that she was taught herself korean so she could understand the songs that she was listening to and the shows she was watching. thanks to that and exposure to korean music and videos, she learned how to speak basic korean and understand advanced korean. despite her attempt, she gave up due to being a person who got busy with life. in the end, when she got accepted to imagine asia/dream t, she went through an intense korean culture and language lessons. of course, she became advanced in speaking korean and understand a good 94% of it but can not read or write hangul at all in which she make out basic words and expressions.
– standard spanish :: due to the fact that america requires high schoolers to learn a foreign language, susan took up spanish but there is a reason behind. ever since she was 5 years old, she learned the spanish langauge up until 12th grade. the only problem was that they never went into the more intense stuff along with the fact that during her middle school years, the spanish teachers kept changing. thanks to this, susan understands 97% of spanish and can speak advanced also along with read it. of course, writing is something that is very hard for to due along with being able to carry a fast paced conversation. generically speaking, it's pretty good for a girl who doesn't speak any language well at all.
– burmese :: the official language in burma is technically burmese. although it is the main language, lai's parents never used it and used their tribal language (think of it when the british took over america. technically english became the main language but native americans still had their own language and their own culture. in this case, chin is the native americans and myanmar is england). because of this, lai never could never grasp the language until she became 13. she used small words that she heard over and over again to which she repeated them. however, only recently has lai taken interest in which she is currently learning. still, her knowledge in the language in general is literally a beginner.

appearance » let just state that susan doesn't fit the 'pretty' standards. the reason being is because she is short, fat, has acne and cellulite, along with having a big stomach with big thighs. well that is of course through her eyes. and there is no denying that she doesn't have it but it's not as exgerrated as she claims it to be (that's what my friends tell me and they lie).
