one followed the rules pacing his growth as the ideal heir while the other one found herself struggling to adjust since she was robbed off of her childhood that was supposed to nurture her imagination and growth instead of molding it to fit the standards by a person who is yet to see the world on the same level as she does.planting dislike on her grandfather might be a thing they should have seen coming, she cared not acing the philosophy and hanja lessons her tutors made her memorized for hours and playing toys and painting with her favorite maids is the highlight of her afternoons. if she is lucky and with good convincing, her brother joins her in their make believe world of princesses and knights in the makeshift fort in their library room until their grandfather catches them, her older brother never fails to try to save his sister from the scolding of Beom Soo; at times, he can shimmy their way out with his charms but sometimes he cannot do so much.
at a formal dinner hosted by their old man, it was the event that would welcome potential investors to fund the expansion of their competent airlines, mingling with other elites, showing off luxuries and keeping faces. At a galnce, it seems a harmless event but even nothing costs something. everyone was present at the living room hall or most of them. the old man seemed to be forgetting something and had a hard time recalling it until— bam! the door opened revealing a naive, young yoo jin wearing a pastel blue dress covered in mud as her hair stood in every direction behind her was an equally dirty boy. the two knew their was a gathering being held but kids being kids playing sparked more fun so they did playing hide and seek that night at the gardens, they were meant to invite dong joo to play together. the problem was they did not know where exactly he is; they went everywhere accidentally including that one room her grandfather told him not visit for that night.
"Well, did we find him?" the boy said.
yoo jin did not replied, no, seemed to clog up and hot tears welling up in her eyes as time felt like it stopped at that exact moment where a sea of faces standing there laughing at her and her friend but what scared her the most was the look of disdain and scorn on her grandfather as they looked at each other. yoo jin had almost forgotten it wasn't a dream when she had her wrist locked on dongjoo's hand and tugged her outside the hall with the mysterious boy tailing behind them.
"It's going to be fine." Dongjoo said.
In the midst of a crying yoo jin, they heard the keypad activating and the front door opening revealing their father and mother. Jacque knelt down wiping the tears of his daughter. "What's the matter?" he asked softly.
"I ruined it, papa." she croaked.
Dong joo helped his sister explain to their parents what happened. the couple having a silent realization as they gazed at each other and went to talk to the old man while dong joo trailed behind leaving yoo jin and the mysterious boy. the boy handed her a necklace and promised to see her again soon.
LIFESTYLE. it's been a year since yoo jin had asked her older brother to hand her down his apartment since he's moving to another closer to his job. her mother tried to convinced to stay at their residence instead but to no avail. ever since that evening happened, her grand father treated her coldly each step she takes inside that house felt like yoo jin is never going to amount to anything other than what her grand father decided her to be: a failure. he told her father about her action. it was not a piece of cake. yoo jin hated breaking his father's heart and doing this made it seem so. Jacque expressed his disappointment for her daughter not trying to build a bridge with her old man first. He did not press further after hearing her daughter's thoughts, after all, it saddens him to see his yoo jin grow up unable to believe in herself.
it's been a year since yoo jin had asked her older brother to hand her down his apartment, albeit, her house hold chores skills ain't top notch yet she definitely knows to seperate your whites from the colored ones now. she admitted this progress would not be possible if not the persistent teachings of none other than Seungmin who frequents her apartment. he has no trouble getting around as if he actually shares the exact flat with yoo jin.

the thing is yoo jin does not study because she cares about the ranking, though, she can excel if put an actual effort but as long as she stays in the class that's the only thing that matters. the hours of her studying varies according to her gut. if she thinks the necessity of reviewing her notes on that particular subject would improve her performance or simply if there is a quiz scheduled tomorrow she would. she requested she need not to have a tutor hired for her studies. she's not big on having an adult supervision that was paid to teach and secretly critics her performance.

▸ it was their third year, the bell rang for dismissal as soon as p.e ended yoo jin decided to pack up and head straight home and get pampered. inside the car, her stomach decided it needs refill. yoo jin asked the chauffer to detour in the nearest convenience store.
"Miss, are you sure?" he glanced at the young lady. "perhaps, let's visit a gourmet restaurant."
"Instant ramen is better, ahjussi." she smiled.
Buying at the convenient store should be, you know, convenient. It is not supposed to be life-threatening but there she was witnessing a couple of morons playing bullies to a statue of god. it doesn't hurt to stare at him longer, right?
▸she had two options: save her life or do the crazy thing. of course, the latter was much rational to her fast adrenaline. damn, she is going to save the manhwa guy with the only plan her brain can fart out at this moment.

Yoo jin sasheyed her way into the manhwa guy slipping her arms around his neck. all the morons were too caught up at the little act. it was enough to gave her the time to dial her chauffer. he was hired to drive and protect the young lady with years of judo under his belt.
the hug was broken as she turned around and grabbed the nearest thing to her as a weapon which came to be lysol sprayer. the manhwa guy followed grabbed himself a sprayer. the both of them synchronically blind the bullies. he started throwing stuff at them for extra measures before taking her wrist and getting their way out of the market.

"follow my lead." he uttered out of breath. he pulled her through down the street, turning into a couple of narrow paths with ease, losing the two guys along the way and a single one persists. the manhwa guy pivots into an alley, easing their bodies in the slim space between two deserted walls inducing an odd air around them as they struggle to keep a distant from the other and avoid having their eyes land anywhere that should not be wandering on. on the other hand, he can't remove his gaze on her neck. he once gave a necklace to a girl—it was the same as hers. on cue, a slap landed his face.
▸ever since that encounter, Seungmin went on his on way to get to know his knight in shining armor. all his plans being a cool guy went down the drain when he was a metre apart from her at the cafeteria because his mind cannot stop replaying at their first meeting. he dumped his food at the nearest trash can before taking the sharpest u-turn he can muster. though, yoo jin caught him running away; it was then she thought mutual avoidance is a great idea; the idea bc it's gon be a big flop.
after a week of pretending the other is non-existent and realized it was foolish, he took the first step. Seungmin realized he haven't got the time to thank her back at the convenient store.
