Personality Well being young Xiao has always had the aspiration and dertimination to become a successful person. His parents had always called him an "Aspiring Airhead" because he doesn't really follow a path unless it's towards his dreams. Even if people said that his dreams are impossible he always tried to prove them that the impossible is possible. Even if he's one of the younger trainees in the company, his sedulous attitude, makes him a bit more mature. Because he heavily dedicates himself with diligence of an adult. Which suprises some of the older trainees, because that's when you see him exactly in his zone and that's his strict business time. However, it's all because of his curiosity that him going. He's eager to learn more things and improve his skills. No matter how difficult things seems to him, he always tries his absolute best and tries his hardest to learn and understand everything and anything. Because knowledge is the key to the world, right?

Just like any other 18 year-old boy he is really upbeat and has a very positive outlook on life, his life specifically. He doesn't like it when the atomsphere is very awkward and tense so he always tries to make everyone happy and comfortable with each other, he's like an ice breaker for everyone. Even when he was a child he was a very upbeat kid and just liked to move around, and making people move around with him, even it might be against their will, but they would usually end up going along with it and just let loose - eventually. He is such a total social butterfly and his talkative attidtude makes him seem easy to approach.

But due to being just 18 years old, he can be a bit immature. Because let's be honest, as teens we tend to do some stupid things - a lot. However, it's a pert of growing up. Plus, Xiao is pretty impulsive which causes him to be a bit irrational with his actions and words. Depends on what you say to him, that affects what he's going to do. One minute he's just minding his own business and then the next second he culd be yelling her lungs out at you. So it's the best option to watch your words around this one.

Not calling any 18 year-old out but he can be a bit stubborn. Because of him being young, he wants some things to go a certain way. But it's safe to say that it's because he is still growing and is still learning how to compromise/seeing the beautiful of one side. Also, he can be a bit of a perfecionist. He wants everything to be spot on. Going back to his sedulous ethic it can be describe as excessive time at the studios and despite others telling him to take a break, he still continues even if he's drenched in sweat but, all he has to say in response is, "as long as I can still move, I will keep working hard." Since he's one of the youngest, he is looked after, causing some people to worry about his health but he ensures them he's okay and he can handle it. But they still watch out for him from a distance. When they keep pestering him about him, that can get some fumes coming out of his ears. He will voice out his opinions, and it come off as if he's yelling, but it's more like raising his voice. He does feel guilty afterwards because it was disrespectful of him and it wasn't right in the first place and apologizes.
 

Background Well first thing first, Xiao was born on Spetember 21st, 2000 at 11:59PM which means he was just seconds away being not on September 21st. Xiao is the only child in his family, but he did have two pet Shih Tzu's. Xiao's parents weren't the stereotypical "Chinese Parents". They weren't strict on his life decisions and were the people who encouraged him to try different things. Because he was their only child, they didn't want to pressure him to do something that he didn't want to ever do  So that explains why Xiao is so outgoing and a bit adventurous.

One day, when Xiao was only 6 years old him and his family went to Beijing for vacation. One place that they visited in their stay is the Forbbiden City in Beijing and saw a musical performance by chance. Xiao was really engrossed into the performance, that his parents almost forgot him when they were leaving because Xiao was staying, watching the entire performance. He was particulary interessted towards the instrument called the Guzheng. Even after the performance and the vacation, his parents noticed that he was mimicking the hand movements from the guzheng players. You can bet that Xiao was tottaly smitten with the instrument and had asked his parents if he could learn how to play the guzheng. In which they agreed to and by the time that he was seven he was able to attend guzheng classes, and even despite almost all the other students were girls, he still wouldn't let them distract him on how to play.

Fast forward to 2010, Xiao still practices his guzheng in The Shanghai Conservatory of Music where he got accepted at the elementary school level. Of course he was under the department of Traditional Chinese Instruments. "He's young, but his technique and flow is impeccable." is something that his professors said to praise him. However he was good, but not the most talented, but his playing is what kept him around the school. However, Xiao usually worked at his parents Dim Sum resturant and would play his guzheng in a small space provided at the front of the place. The one day, Xiao was approached by a Yuehua represenative, who offered him to audition because he looked handsome. You have to admit for a 14 year-old boy that he's good looking, right? Yet, Xiao was at first declined the offer because he already had a plan set to become a guzheng player.

However things changed when Xiao was picked to be one of the students to participate in a transfer student program where he got to study the similarities between Korean and Chinese instruments. Of course, he agreed and he found himself on a plane to South Korea. While he was in SK, Xio was approached again when he was walking outside of the school, this time the represenative was someone from Moon Entertainment. Xiao told him that he'll think about it and he told his parents the story when he got back to his dorm. Xiao's parents encouraged him to at least audition because they thought that Xiao was always too focused on his music studies and he should enjoy his youth a bit more. After a good night's sleep and contemplation, Xiao decided to audition for Moon Entertainment and a week later he was called back to become a trainee. He thought that he wouldn't pass, but all odds were in his favour and he did. From there, Xiao thought that maybe he should train in Korea for the experience and if got cut he would continue studying the guzheng back in Shanghai.

That's what he did. However, with Xiao's first love, guzheng he commuted from Shanghai yo South Korea (similar to how Pristin's Kyulkyung tarained) every summer from 2014 - 2017. Because it's hard to forget your first love, but it was sorta a compromise of what he wanted. He still continued to play and grow his skills in the guzheng and get to have the opportunity to train at Moon Ent. The more he had spent time training at Moon Ent, the more he found himself aspiring to become an idol. Then as of the end of 2017 he had flew from Shanghai to SK to start training full time.(Of course he took his guzheng with him).

— Classical Music // Xiao always had a special place in his heart for classical music (westernized and Chinese). He hopes that today's youth will still be interested in classical music when they get older
— Dim Sum // Because Xiao's parents an their own Dim Sum restaurant, Xiao can be a somewhat connoiseur of the dish and whenever he goes to a Dim Sum restuarant it feels like he's at home in all of the commotion that goes in a typical Dim Sum restaurant
— Hotteok // One of the first things that Xiao tasted when he went to South Korea for the first was a hotteok. Let me tell you that it was love at first bite for Xiao. Everyday on his walk to school he would make sure to get a nice, fresh, hot hotteok from one of the food stalls
— Dogs // Xiao is team dog all the way, every day. Mostly because he was sorrounded by his Shih Tzu's from a young age he felt a special connection to them
— Girl Groups // Xiao is still an 18 year-old boy so being obsessed with girl groups is normal for boys his age. Who cares if he probably knows every girl group dance
— Ooolong Tea // Xiao prefers Oolong tea over any other beverages. He said that he thinks that he got his love for Oolong from his dad because he used to drink it every morning with him when he was 8 years-old
Dislikes
— Makeup // Out of his 18 years of living on this Earth, Xiao only started to wear makeup when he was preparing for his debut. He doesn't hate wearing makeup, but it just makes him feel uncomfortable
— Sugar // Strange for a kid to not like candy, right? Xiao is a strange kid for not liking sweet treats like cake, cookies, supcakes, etc. He thinks it's because he's so used to savourary food from eating a lot of his parents dim sum items and that they barely made desserts that he has such a bland taste palette 
— Coffee // Because Xiao has been drinking tea for such a long time, the first time he traied coffee he immediately orded a tea after. He finds coffee to bitter for him and prefers not to consume it
— Mornings // Xiao is still young and at an age where sleeping is everything to him and naps are an esstential for him. So when he wakes up it's mostly from rude awakenings by members. Yet, he still looks cute *sorry Xiao* when he just woke up with bed head
