dumb peach tries to answer intellectual questions (aka another questions blog you can steal)

so if you're planning on doing this, i actually took all of them from here: https://conversationstartersworld.com/philosophical-questions/

but i took out a lot since there's so many

or you could copy and paste and do the same questions as i did

yes, i did this during my boring and pathetic break

if you're one of the 0.0000000124% of people actually reading this, i have to warn you that only like 4 of these questions might have legit answers. most of it is just me being dumb.

ok i think i'm done with my exposition.

What harsh truths do you prefer to ignore?

1. Is there a meaning to life? If so, what is it?

how tf would i know?

2. Is the meaning of life the same for animals and humans?

probably

3. Where is the line between art and not art?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

4. If someone you loved was killed in front of you, but someone created a copy of them that was perfect right down to the atomic level, would they be the same person and would you love them just as much?

woah. i think they’d be the same person, yes, but i don’t think i’d love them the same.

although i don’t know.

5. What does it mean to live a good life?

i feel like this is something people decide for themselves.

6. Why do we dream?

uh. i don’t know, science?

7. Is it possible to live a normal life and not ever tell a lie?

nope

8. What should be the goal of humanity?

to not up but h A too late

9. If you could become immortal on the condition you would NEVER be able to die or kill yourself, would you choose immortality?

hell no

10. How will humans as a species go extinct?

probably kill each other off

11. How long will you be remembered after you die?

not that long lol

12. If a child somehow survived and grew up in the wilderness without any human contact, how “human” would they be without the influence of society and culture?

i don’t think they’d be less human, they’d just fail to conform to society’s standards

13. Where does your self-worth come from?

mine? i’d say like. 70% percent other people and influences and maybe 30% myself

but that seems like a lot of it comes from me so idk

14. How would humanity change if all humans’ life expectancy was significantly increased (let’s say to around 500 years)?

first of all. we’d all die bc the world would run out of resources.

and also, we wouldn’t be able to have kids (or like only one kid for every 50 people)

and no one would like. appreciate anything.

and everything would just turn into a routine.

and the world would be a big, terrible, meaningless mess

15. Where do you find meaning in your life?

for some reason i feel like i’m interpreting this question wrong

but i’d say the people around me

16. What do you think would be humanity’s reaction to the discovery of extraterrestrial life?

i feel like the people who already thought about it wouldn’t be surprised

and maybe everyone else would be mad

17. If you could teach everyone in the world one concept, what concept would have the biggest positive impact on humanity?

uh

i should not be trusted with this responsibility

18. Is suffering a necessary part of the human condition? What would people who never suffered be like?

i think so, yes

people who’ve never suffered probably would never feel empathy or sympathy

and they probably wouldn’t grow as people

19. Would things get better or worse if humans focused on what was going well rather than what’s going wrong?

worse, i think. pessimism is kind of necessary, but so is optimism.

20. How likely do you think it will be that humans will last another 1,000 years without killing ourselves off?

unlikely lol

30. What do you attribute the biggest successes in your life to? How about your largest failures?

success: other people and influences

failures: myself and my flaws lol

31. If freedom is simply being able to do what you want, are animals freer than humans?

uh no. we have the ability to do so much more because we aren’t constantly just trying to survive. i mean we are. but we don’t have to put all out energy into just finding food and making sure our kids don’t die. i mean some people do. but the people that don’t, don’t usually realize what a privilege it is to be able to live the way we do.

i’m such a hypocrite.

32. Would you want to know you are going to die before hand or die suddenly without warning?

what would hurt the people i leave behind less?

i mean it’s not like it’s going to affect me much after i die.

33. Is humanity headed in the right or wrong direction?

i think most of the time, right and wrong are opinions

we’re just going forward; whether it’s in the right or wrong direction is up to each individual

34. If you had to guess, what do you think would be the most likely way you’ll die?

i’m already dead

#stillnotoverhixtape

in all seriousness, though, probably tripping over myself and falling down the stairs

35. Is intelligence or wisdom more useful?

useful in what sense???

36. What do you contribute back to society?

dumb ideas

37. What are you going to do with the one life you have?

live it and then die someday

38. Is it more important to help yourself, help your family, help your society, or help the world?

huh. it’s important to do what you can to help, but it’s extremely important to help yourself.

find a balance, i guess. too much of any of those is bad news.

39. What life-altering things should every human ideally get to experience at least once in their lives?

good health?

40. Is it better to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond?

i think it depends lol

for me… probably a big fish in a small pond

41. What are you capable of achieving?

is there an award for most-stupid-thoughts?

42. By what standards do you judge yourself?

like a mix of all the standards i’ve been exposed to i guess

43. What two questions would you ask to get the most information about who a person truly is?

who do you look up to?

why?

44. Why do we judge ourselves by our intentions but judge others by their actions?

bc we’re dumb and mean

45. What activities cause you to feel like you are living life to the fullest?

when i can make someone else happy

46. What would you genetically change about humans to make them a better species?

i should not be trusted with this responsibility pt. 2

47. What do you think existed before the universe was created?

uh

48. Is math something that humans created or something we discovered? Is looking at reality mathematically an accurate representation of how things work?

woah

49. Is it possible for a human to fathom the true depths of reality and existence?

probably not

50. As more and more is being discovered about quantum physics, we become less and less able to comprehend the nature of reality. Is this something temporary and our minds will adapt and begin to understand this new reality or is it possible that the human mind will soon reach its limits of comprehension? If it’s only temporary, is there is a limit to what the human mind can comprehend? If we are reaching our limits, how do we continue to study our reality?

ugggghhhhhhh

51. Is happiness just chemicals flowing through your brain or something more?

probably chemicals

52. Why are humans so susceptible to magical thinking?

bc it works for us

53. If every neuron in a human was accurately simulated in a computer, would it result in human consciousness?

ugh thinking

54. Is it possible that some animals are self-aware and think about their ability to think?

yes, it’s possible

55. Is it possible to prove that other people besides yourself have consciousness?

it’s not like i know anything but i don’t think so.

56. How conscious do you think animals are?

most likely more than we give them credit for

57. Would it be more frightening to discover that humans are the most advanced species in the universe or that we are far from being the most advanced species in the universe?

so at first i was going to say the first one because wow, really?

but then, in the second one, other species could just, like, kill us all in an instant!

which is pretty scary.

i think the first one would be worse, but the second one would be more “frightening”

58. How would you define genius?

@em

@yongjin

@jaesang

@kelly

@gracie

@byun

@min

@natocuty (i'm sorry if i spelled it wrong oof)

59. Why are humans so confident in beliefs that can’t be proven?

because trust is a part of human nature

the only reason some people don’t trust is because things happened that made them that way

60. If all your memories were erased, what kind of person would you be?

uh. an infant?

61. Why do humans have such a strong urge to distract ourselves from the real world?

probably because we like to be happy and sometimes lying to ourselves is the only way to remain like that

62. Are there limits to human creativity?

i don’t think so

63. Why do we resist doing things that we know are good for our well-being while craving things that are detrimental to our well-being?

look it up goddamnit

there’s like science behind it

64. If there existed a perfect clone of you, would it also be you? Would it act in exactly the same manner as you (like a mirror) or would it act differently? If it acted differently then would it still be you? At what point would it not be you?

uh. i feel like this is really dumb.

if it was a “perfect clone” of me, doesn’t that mean it would think and act the same way as me? and if it thought the same and acted differently, wouldn’t it still be the same as me because it still has the same train of thought? as soon as it starts thinking differently, it’s not me anymore.

65. Would you be able to tell if time had been altered in some way?

probably not.

66. Human memory has been shown to be incredibly unreliable. With that in mind, how do you know which of your memories are genuine and which have been altered or made up?

you don’t

67. Can animals have morals?

hm

68. If humanity was put on trial by an advanced race of aliens, how would you defend humanity and argue for its continued existence?

i probably wouldn’t

½ because don’t trust me with that responsibility pt. 3

and ½ because what could i say? “don’t kill us because uh we don’t want to be killed”?

if they were advanced they probably wouldn’t see a point in anything we had to argue with

69. What rights does every human have? Do those rights change based on age?

who am i to decide this lol

but, yeah, i think rights do change with age but that’s complicated and i’m lazy so

70. Do animals have rights and do those rights extend to all animals or do the rights change based on the complexity of the animal?

i think they do but we choose to ignore that and use our “superiority” as an excuse

but also certain things were meant to happen. like the natural cycle of life and all.

ok does anyone actually ever understand me

71. With no laws or rules to influence your behavior, how do you think you would behave?

wooooooow. i don’t know. i think true kindness would be revealed more obviously.

but me directly? i don’t know. i think a lot of people assume i do and say things i do and say because i have to, but i consider myself to be a very honest person

i guess people would see that if there weren’t rules or laws

72. What’s the difference between justice and revenge?

justice is only justice if it’s fair?

revenge can be anything, as long as the intention is payback.

i know what i’m trying to say.

73. If you could press a button and receive a million dollars, but one stranger would die, would you press the button? And if so, how many times?

wtf no

74. Are intentions or outcomes more important when judging whether actions are moral?

ooooooooh. i think outcomes. because i’m one of those people that believes that there’s no truly evil people, just people who strongly believe in their opinions and movements, and that everyone has a reason for what they do and not just “oh i just wanted to, uh, be disliked by every human in existence i thought it’d be fun”

but that means that most people will have good intentions.

and a lot of dumb starts by accident.

75. If babies are considered innocent, when do people cease to be innocent?

OH. OH. OH. OH.

i have big opinions on this one lol.

i mean i always have an opinion rip.

anyway.

as soon as outside influences come in contact. like as soon as a parent or person is able to teach the baby a concept, etc. that’s when the baby stops being innocent.

that doesn’t mean the baby stops being “good”.

just that it’s been corrupted :)

76. If you can save another’s life and don’t because doing so would break the law, are you ethically justified in your decision?

this reminds me of that alignment test thing i got three different answers for

77. Are all individuals morally obligated to save another person’s life if they are able? What if that person lives in another country?

no

also, why should them being in a different country affect how worthy they are of life???

78. Is it just and right to deny entry to a country when doing so probably means death for the immigrant and their family?

i don’t know all the sides to this and i don’t have a lot of information, but no. i don’t think that’s right. ing find a way.

79. Does anonymity encourage people to misbehave or does it reveal how people would choose to act all the time if they could?

i think it reveals how people would act if they could.

80. What is the most fertile soil for hatred? Fear, ignorance, jealousy, or something else entirely? Is it possible that some people are genetically predisposed to hatred?

i’m an idiot so i didn’t get the second part but also i don’t feel like analyzing it so

for the first part: maybe insecurity.

81. If I steal a loaf of bread from you and eat it, when does the bread itself cease to be yours and becomes mine?

uh when you take it?

if i took it back it’d be mine again.

82. If you could start a country from scratch, what would it be like?

STOP GIVING ME RESPONSIBILITY ASDFGHJKL

83. Would the world be a better or worse place if everyone looked the same?

wow what an interesting question that requires a lot of thinking.

(so i asked someone this question and they said it wouldn't be much better since we're all already really similar: we all have two eyes, two legs, noses in the same place, etc. but we still find small, unimportant differences and make them important for no reason like skin color, lip size, weight etc. so even if we all looked the same, people would still find a way to split everyone into lesser and superior groups)

84. What causes the most harm in the world, but is completely avoidable?

uh. time?

85. Do people in wealthier countries have a moral obligation to help those in poorer countries?

i think so?

86. Is poverty in society inevitable?

uh yeah because there’s no way humans could engineer a perfectly balanced society.

87. Do you think there will ever be a global government? If a world government did come to power, assuming it wasn’t particularly cruel or evil, would it be a good or bad thing?

um i don't know. probably not.

if it meant that there wouldn’t be countries constantly fighting each other since there’s only one government, i think it would be good. but i haven’t thought too much about it lol.

88. Is it more or less difficult to be successful in the modern world than it was in the past (10, 50, 100, or 1,000 years ago)?

considering i’m female, i’m gonna say it’s less difficult

89. Could societies exist without a way to transfer value (i.e. without money or a barter system)?

uh no because selfishness and greed

90. What would happen if a maximum income of was implemented?

that list of the most wealthy people that keeps getting shorter wouldn’t exist

maybe money could be more fairly distributed but i’m sure that wouldn’t happen and there’d probably be other problems lol

91. What do you think the long-term effects of so many people being glued to their screens will be?

dude you can look that up too

92. Is the human tendency to create groups an overall positive or a negative trait in terms of general human flourishing?

i’m gonna say overall positive because geese fly in a v-shape

(just ask me if you’re confused, i’d rather type it up later)

93. What would happen to a society in which no one had to work, and everyone was provided enough food/water/shelter/healthcare for free?

woah

94. If everyone said what they were actually thinking, what would happen to society?

It Would Be Different™

95. What are the benefits and drawbacks of diversity in society?

i’m californian i can’t think of any drawbacks lol

96. Has social media been a net positive or a net negative for our society? Why?

you know what i don’t really feel like typing for the next 784 years on an argument like this

97. How would society change if men were able to get pregnant and men and women both had an equal chance of getting pregnant?

uh. ism would be different.

98. Why have many societies begun to place such a high value on emotions and being emotional?

because emotionally suppressing yourself is Bad™

that’s an opinion lol pls don’t be offended

99. Does marriage as an institution need to be updated or is it fine how it is?

yeah but i have the best marriage ever so i shouldn’t be complaining lol

100. Is technological progress inevitable as long as humans exist or can it be stopped?

it’s inevitable lol

101. Why did technology progress more slowly in the past than it does now?

ok so i don’t know anything but my guess is that it’s because before people had to worry about like survival stuff and now people can literally ship food to their doorstep so we’re just trying to find things to do with our time
