Cho Yejun
works at
Blizzard Snow
Cool, charismatic, carefully placed lines, with a bright, flirtatious grin and easy going laugh. The kind of handsome, dreamy waiter you would hope to find at any cafe. You know the one, with the charming, go-getter attitude that even if you drop a drink, he'd catch it mid-air before a drop was able to slosh onto the pristine tiled floor, all the while holding a tray stacked to the ceiling with plates. The one who notices even the slightest of frowns on a customer's face and graciously offers you dessert on the house just to cheer you up - Yeah, you all know the one. But, that's definitely not what you're going to get stepping into BLIZZARD SNOW.

Yejun is the cheesy, overly flirty and thoughtless waiter that you hope to god you don't end up with at your table. His dad jokes are so cringy that you'll automatically lose your appetite just hearing them and he thinks he's the most hilarious person on the freaking planet, always laughing at his own jokes and elbowing his co-workers to try to get them to laugh along with him (which they practically NEVER do because who wants to laugh at such lame puns and stupid ?). And the boy doesn't understand the words, "not interested," or the usual, "I'm LITERALLY on a date right now!" Despite this being a couples hot-spot, Yejun uses the opportunity to woo your girlfriend or boyfriend just to take them on a date at his own damn restaurant. He flirts with anything that breathes, under the impression that he's mister suave, "Mister still your girl/boy," oh lord is he so WRONG, and will pester you until you finally get enough and straight up leave.

He does not get ashamed or embarrassed easily. Most call him careless or thoughtless because of his heartless actions and the fact it seems like he doesn't really care or worry about his partner's feelings and instead only thinks of himself. It's not that he doesn't realize when people aren't interested, it's just that he doesn't care and is determined to gain their attention and love, like some sick game. But, something you'll notice is that once Yejun gains the love or attention of the ever-changing object of his affection, he'll instantly become uninterested or bored and quickly drop them and move on, earning him the nickname, "mister stone-heart," because of his cruel behavior. However creepy and lame Yejun can be and despite his reputation, he still somehow manages to get a full order of dates and honestly believes he has feelings for these people until he loses interest. But these aren't real feelings, no, he has yet to experience that/actually get to know someone.

He can be kinda crude at times, especially if he’s flirting or messing around. He’s also quick to act and has incredible reflexes, but this makes him very impulsive which you'll see on a regular basis. Yejun rarely worries about what other's think about him and is definitely more concerned with himself and his life goals. Though, don't get him wrong, he isn't completely cringy, self-absorbed and a careless . No, Yejun can actually be quite caring and have a father-figure type love for friends and family. He shows this in his own ways though, by healthy competition (More like roughhousing and body slamming you to the ground while yelling, "First one to make it to the trashcans out back wins!") lame jokes, and the occasional surprising advice and pat on the back/head when you're feeling down or have done something worth praising. He isn't the most observant but isn't blind, just doesn't care unless you're close to him and can tell when you need someone to be there for you. If he honest to god considers you a friend, then he'll be in your corner no matter what. Going as far as to fight for you. Because no one can be a roughhousing, cheese-ball with a side of conceited to his friends besides him.

"Would you like to order something sweet...well - ya know - besides me?"

nicknamesMister Stone-Heart: He's called this for obvious reasons by everyone who knows of his reputation of loving and leaving. Since he grows bored of his partner fairly quickly, everyone assumes he doesn't have a heart, though that's only partially true. He has a heart, it's just cold and he's never experienced love, so lives for the feeling of falling/having fun.

Mister Steal Your Girl/Boy: His co-workers call him this because of his bad habits at work with stealing peoples significant other/date.

appearanceWith a tall, rather slim and muscular physic, model proportioned body, killer pearly white charismatic grin and enchanting, mysterious and calculating dark eyes that you in with just one uninterested glance, Yejun is the epitome of envy from most onlookers by first glance. He was gifted with seemingly all of the good characteristics of his parents' appearance, down to his strong jawline, dark eyebrows and sharp features, he is someone who is naturally good looking. His skin is very lightly tanned, and well kept. Yejun dyes his hair pretty frequently, his favorite colors being black, blue, and his current shade of blonde with a grey/blue tint. He also has three piercings on both ears, but tends to wear a set of small silver hoops on either ear with a black stud on his second hole on his left ear. Yejun prefers to wear clean and casual chic kind of style, however, no matter how comfortable his outfit is he seems to always look good, thanks to his tall and lean figure. He likes a mix of bright colors as well as neutrals. However, he really likes making a statement of his own. He also likes the layered look, with a sweatshirt or t-shirt under a hoodie with a jacket over this. He tends to wear a lot of jackets of different sorts in a variety of colors. His clothing style consists of sweatshirts, sweaters, hoodies, windbreakers, flannels, peacoats, colored trenches, bomber jackets, cardigans, even blazers, and other jackets, as well as simple t-shirts, skinny jeans with rips and without, sweatpants, sneakers, Timberlands, and the occasional snapback, bucket-hat, or beanie. He isn't picky about color and isn't one to shy away from something bright, though he likes looking well put together. Yejun's uniform is also well put together. He doesn't look sloppy or ill-fitted. He will occationally roll his sleeves up to his elbows though if it gets too warm in the shop.

background Cho Yejun was born in the airy and bright, beachy city of Busan two years ago to two parents who he doesn't know very much about, due to being put up for adoption a few months after his birth. Though, he was adopted just a few weeks after being placed in an orphanage to two adoring parents, who resided in Seoul, who felt so blessed to have found such a beautiful baby boy to now call their own. His adoptive parent's never treated him any differently than as if he was their son by birth, which he might as well have been, and they catered to their son's every need. Despite knowing that he was adopted, he never felt bothered by this fact because he knew he had gained two people who loved him more than anything else and that fact always comforted Yejun. He was babied by his loving parents and tended to get away with most things, including throwing little fits when he didn't get his way and lived a relatively happy childhood. His mother, a very slim half-Korean, half-Chinese woman, with curly dark hair and a smile that could rival the sun, was a music professor at one of the colleges downtown. She played several instruments that she kept in their average sized family home that she attempted to teach Yejun and her singing voice never ceased to put him to ease. This was one of his fondest memories of childhood, just sitting at home in the afternoons with his mother while her slim fingers ran up and down the very keys of the grand piano that made their living room look a thousand times smaller than it actually was, while Yejun sat fascinated on the little brown piano bench as his chubby little legs kicked back and forth in the air between his feet and the wood flooring. This is where Yejun developed his love and interest in music.

His father, on the other hand, was more stern, a no-nonsense accountant who acted indifferent towards his son's newfound love, but with some coaxing from his wife, he finally agreed to let him do whatever he wanted as long as he kept his grades up in school. Yejun excelled in both piano lessons as well as school. His classes weren't a problem, and he managed to keep his grades relatively high as he exited elementary to middle school. During his middle school years, Yejun found himself becoming more interested in rapping. After a few times hanging out with some schoolmates around some of the entertainment companies located in Seoul, he became fascinated with the street performers, mainly rappers. Soon he began rapping more often, though he was too embarrassed to tell his mother about it, so he kept it to himself. However, this was also around the time that his adoptive mother found out that she had cancer. She had been having random fainting spells, and bouts of pain from her head, which she assumed was migraines from long work hours. However, they seem to only increase with time until the point that she fainted at work and was sent to the hospital. Yejun had just turned thirteen around the time she was admitted in a hospital in downtown. He and his father, having no idea what was going on, received news the very next day that Yejun's mother had terminal brain cancer. Yejun was devastated, angry, hurt, so so upset with the world that this could happen to his mother--His wonderful and sweet mother with the pretty smile and soothing voice. It was unfair. Yejun spent the rest of his mothers last months of life by her hospital bed, rapping his mother little pieces of songs he had written and keeping her company. His father, on the other hand, threw himself into his work and rarely visited his wife. Yejun and his father were at odds, Yejun at the time didn't realize that his father was hurting just as badly as he was but didn't know how to cope, so he tried to avoid the whole situation entirely, and this led to Yejun resenting his father.

After Yejun's mother passed away, things drastically changed in Yejun's life. He, and his father rarely spoke to one another and Yejun himself began to grow into someone he wasn't very fond of. Yejun was hurt that his father didn't see his mother more, and Yejun's dad didn't really know how to talk to his son about things, so they both just didn't try at all. Yejun became closed off from friends, and became very conceited. He decided he didn't want to be close to people at all and slowly developed into the person he is today. He became heartless, a shell of who he once was. By the time he was fifteen, he made up his mind that he was going to be a rapper and live for himself, live for the thrill of life like his mother didn't get the chance to. But, Yejun's father, being the serious, focused man he was, didn't think that would be a very good career path for Yejun to follow and he refused to support his dream. Yejun, being stubborn and self-absorbed, thinking of his mother's own love of music, threw this thought back into his father's face. Eventually, at seventeen Yejun decided it was time to leave his father behind and forget his family. He moved out into an apartment and started University, majoring in music production. Yejun thought that if his own father wouldn't support him, then he would take it upon himself to become a rapper. He took odd-end jobs here and there to pay for rent and tuition and distanced himself from his father to the point of refusing to tell him his address. Currently, Yejun and his father aren't talking, but his dad continuously tries to reach out to him, but Yejun's too stubborn to do anything about it.

lifestyleOutside of work, Yejun attends Seoul Community College downtown, majoring in music production. It's his dream to be a rapper, so he raps a lot on the side. Yejun is very into fitness and health, so he goes to the gym every single night and goes on a jog or run every morning before work and classes. You can find him going on dates most of the time, as well as hanging out at the park, writing lyrics, as well as shopping.

hey! have to do annual employee evals; it'll only take a few minutes. you ready?"Does it have to be right now?" Yejun's pouting, a slight desperation and irritation swimming in his eyes, "I almost have this hot trainee girl's number! -- Fine, FINE, don't give me that look. Let's do this then. What's up? How can I help?" He leans on the counter with a smile that could blind any onlooker.

okay, Yejun, how long have you been working for blizzard snow again?"I believe it's been about a month and a half that I've been working with you guys?" Yejun figures in his head, counting back the days with a far-off look in his eyes, "I quit my other two part-time jobs around that time, so it had to be about a month and a half. I was a regular customer before then, but here I am to stay!" He finishes with a determined nod.

thanks for refreshing my memory! what made you want to work for me initially?Yejun looks off into the distance, eyes focused on the plump..uhumm..buns that a delectable boy across the cafe is currently shoving into his mouth. Realizing he's being questioned, Yejun snaps out of it, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck with a wide charismatic grin as if everyone hadn't just seen him being a creep. "Well I love the food we serve, and it's close to campus where I'm attending college as well as my apartment. The atmosphere is really lively and youthful, like me of course, so this is my ideal job. I used to come here a lot after class to write lyrics and work on projects. It was a pretty comfortable vibe all around. And of course, when I met our lovely boss-lady, I knew I had to apply here. She just has this cheerful and comforting aura that follows her. She definitely draws everyone in, including me, of course." (CREEP ALERT!)

uh huh. and your official title is...?With another large, (albeit somewhat creepy) grin, Yejun winks, "The greatest waiter known to man! Duh! Ask my customers, I always give the best service if you know what I mean. I'm sure Sungsook-noona would agree," (Insert eyebrow wiggling here)

great! how do you feel about working here?"It's great! I love working here, definitely better than some of my other jobs as well as the clientele. We do get a bit of a rush on the weekends but that's nothing I can't handle. I mean, what place isn't busy on the weekends? Places that are struggling and that's not us. Plus, Sungsook-noona is the greatest boss. She's so amazing, definitely one of the best parts of working here. She's a walking goddess, you can quote me on that. Literally my dream...-" Yejun trails off as a dreamy smile curls onto his face before snapping back to reality, clearing his throat with a grin. "I like working with the customers, they're all pretty great and understanding. But I can't get why some of them just randomly leave me when I start being nice to them!" Yejun pouts. "But, just being here puts me in a creative mood and I get a lot of my writing done for my courses on my breaks. When I succeed at being a rapper, I'll give you guys a shoutout."

i see... let me write that one down. okay, what's your favorite dish or drink we serve?.."My favorite dish?" Yejun asks and oh god, the creepiest smile (you know the one that makes you feel absolutely dirty and disgusted) slowly pulls across his face as he leans forward, "Sungsoon-noona isn't on the menu," before laughing loudly with a wink. When no one else laughs, he shrugs his shoulders and continues, "I honestly love the snow the best, it has to be my favorite snack. I LIVE for it. All of the flavors are to die for and I try a new one everytime I'm working. I like to stay pretty healthy and it's not too overboard with sweetness or calories and I can work it off pretty easily. But we sell a lot of other sweet treats that I love that I'll eat if I'm having a cheat day, as well as some great tea. It's really hard to choose, I don't think I can decide just one thing!"

alright. do you have any suggestions or comments about working here? @blizzard: why doesn't noona give me her personal number? She always denies me when I ask! I think that's just good business to stay in touch, right? And one other thing, I think that I should be able to choose all of the tables I want to wait on instead of being given sections of the cafe. I mean come ON, It seems like I'm never allowed to wait on the really hot people. I think that's a little unfair. Oh-oh! Maybe Noona could use some entertainment huh? I could rap on the side sometimes. I'm sure the customers would love it! *wink wink*

okay, not as bad as i was expecting, which is good. but more importantly... what do you honestly think of the cafe across the street?
"Those losers? I don't care anything about them. It's just some old tea shop, why would they be popular? I consider myself a very competitive person and I thrive when there's competition. But honestly, I don't see much from them. It's kind of sad to see these days that old cafe's like that just won't give up trying. It's kind of pathetic. So bring it on you wannabes! We'll take you down easily. You have nothing on us, or noona!"

alright. i'll be sure to keep that in mind. and look at that! we're all done.."How'd I do? Probably great, right? Of course, you want the opinions of the best employee," Yejun laughs with a wink, "But if that's all I'll get back to my job, future dates- I mean - customers are waiting!"

Hey babes! You can call me Aera. :) I LOVE your story idea, I think it's adorable and very unique. I tried something new here with Yejun, he's definitely not someone I would normally create but I hope you like him. I didn't want to make him overly likeable and instead a bit more realistic and kind of annoying haha. Good luck with writing, but I know you'll do a fantastic job! I'll be reading either way. <33 -Aera
