BACKGROUND :　

joo ara was born in the united states by a loving mother and a caring father. they were the picture perfect family— that was when ara's mother died from a car crash. at first, ara's father was doing fine— but as time goes, it had been a tough time for the single father, losing his pillar at the age of 30. afterwards, they both decided that it was best to leave america; with the constant bullying that little ara couldn't handle and her father simply couldn't juggle his work and his baby at the same time. during their time in korea, they lived with ara's grandmother who celebrates them, coming back to korea with open arms. 

ara moved to korea when she was five— she grew up there, in the city of gangnam. ara discovered her love for youtube at the age of fifteen. she posted funny videos on youtube as a stress reliever. she made friends; connections that she values until now and definitely, she met fame. joo ara isn't that it-girl that goes on tv and gets public recognition— but as she blossoms up after puberty, ara quickly become the girl who went viral on social media for her beauty. that was when ara saw something in her. she saw an opportunity.

when ara was nineteen, she decided to move back to america. after all— ara is an independent woman. she made more than enough with her korean version fit-tea and hair gummies to afford living in america for a few months. plus, her father gave her some money, enough to secure herself a place in a comfortable apartment before moving into the university's dormitory.

ara decided to go by the name alice when she reaches america. goodbye, joo ara. hello, alice joo. ara struggled slightly in america— despite her huge amount of followers, ara does struggle with fitting into the a-listers. well, what do you expect? someone with a weird sense of humour with a lot of bland storytimes would get in with the flow? especially with her girl next door look? in the land where the appeal worth more than nice personalities? get real. ara juggled with studying and making name for herself— she promised her father that she would go to a university here. that's when ara discovered vine. 

vine is ara's stepping stone for further success. her vines are funny and cute at the same time— she's getting the america's fit-tea review money! she's getting things sent to her pr box! she was making money and that was when she started collaborating with other viners— first, kingbach. then, it was lele pons. and then, it was him. logan paul. ara met logan through a vine collaboration. they were in the same vine clique and ara decided to date him. it was not all love-based – it was more of a business choice. ara knew logan was texting other girls behind him and she was fine with it. by this time, ara started showing more skin – her cleavage is there, peeking out. her push-up bras are a must and by now, she starts feeling better.

it wasn't until late 2016 did ara decided to break things off. she was more matured now and decided that internet clout isn't everything. plus, she was finally getting her bills paid by modelling professionally — she was even planning to audition for the next america's next top model. that was when logan was mad; logan had always made it clear that ara is his prized possession. well, couldn't ara felt the love when logan commented 'yasss babe that's my girl' when she posted a picture of her on instagram? or how he had always tagged her in pictures of both of them together? logan felt that ara should have thought twice -- that was when logan leaked her nudes on the internet. 

ara was ashamed of herself – her dad was so angry, he literally threatened her to come back to korea or else, he would stop financially supporting her. well, of course, ara couldn't face the wrath of his father. ara had always been a daddy's girl and she didn't want to go back to korea. not like this – not before she made him proud. she closed all of her social medias – being a total couch potato. she only go out for the gym, classes and grocery shopping.

now, ara is currently living with her friend, stephanie with their family that she treats like her own too — she's on her final year in university. she currently works as a part-time makeup artist in sephora.

ara used to be laughed at for not having a mother – jayoung is where she runs to. jayoung had always been there for ara. she braided ara's hair, prepared her first hanbok and even, drop her off to her first date. they were close – until ara told jayoung that she was moving to america. jayoung felt that ara betrayed her and thus, it strayed their relationship. they kept in contact – skyping every now and then until the nudes were leaked. ara, who knew that her grandmother is quite internet savvy, didn't have the guts to contact the old lady. even when the old lady tried calling her countless of times.

when the leaked nudes scandal happened, stephanie was the one to stand beside alice all along. she was the one to convince everything was okay – as a matter of fact, stephanie actually is the one who took care of alice emotionally and financially. alice truly couldn't repay what her bestfriend had done to her.

alice knew he was cheating. what do you expect from this boy? he had his birthday as his passcode. alice asked for a break up but logan didn't want to. alice cut things off anyways with him and he exposed alice's nudes to the general public through a paparazzi. unsatisfied, alice exposed his pics in return but oh, what an unfortunate world we're living. of course, the general public sides on the privileged white good-looking male. she's just another chick to them.

she's now making a comeback under her real name, 'Alice Joo'. she's a youtuber and a social media influencer. yeah, right. she mostly posts stuffs about beauty – skincare routines, if it's worth they hype, reviews and makeup tutorials. she did have a second channel though where she vlogs her life.
