Today we received some shocking news that Kim Jonghyun, a member of the popular group Shinee, had tragically passed away after committing suicide. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels saddened by the fact that a person faced depression and committed suicide to escape it but what makes it especially heart-breaking was the fact that it was someone much loved; by fans, friends, peers and family. Even though I'm not a hard-core Shawol I do enjoy listening to Shinee songs as their songs were some of the first kpop songs I listened to when I was beginning to enter the world of kpop and watching them on shows but now that Jonghyun is gone I'll always feel a little pang of sadness whenever I listen to their music or re-watch shows, knowing that this wonderful person is no longer with us. It makes me sad to think of what s must be going through, let alone his family. I'm sure s and family must be thinking that they should have done something more to help or that they should have seen the signs that all was not right with him but I want to point out that if anyone is to blame its the management of Shinee. The manager and staff should have tried to seek help for Jonghyun, made him go for counseling to help with his depression. Also I hate how Shinee are often overlooked within the company, in favour for the more popular groups such as EXO and Red Velvet. SM Entertainment do not know how to take care of their artists which makes me so mad, because Jonghyun's death could have been avoided if the company had looked after him properly. Now a brilliant musican and person is gone. 

I hope that wherever Jonghyun is that he is happier and I hope that his death in a way can help prevent the deaths of others by South Korea being more aware of mental illnesses such as depression as I feel like that they sort of ignore these conditions, sweep them under the mat and pretend that there aren't people living who have these conditions. I also hope that his family and friends are able to get through this dark and difficult period. Kim Jonghyun will always stay in our hearts and Shinee will not be the same without him. We'll love and miss you.
