At first I thought this was some sick joke but a quick Google search showed that this is unfortunately very real.   I'm heart broken.   Shinee was one of the first k pop bands I actively followed.   And the songs written by jonghyun are some of my absolute favorite shinee songs. He was full of passion for his music and a joy to watch perform. He was a beacon of tolerance in an intolerant world.  Critics bashed him online for using his status as an idol to show support for the LGBT community.   As he once said "i don't discriminate. "  he was a beautiful human being.   I grieve for him, his family, and his fans.   I will treasure the memory of seeing jonghyun perform at the shinee fan meet in Chicago.   I never once imagined it would be the last opportunity I'd get.

Wherever you are Kim Jonghyun, I hope you are at peace now.  And I thank you for the time we Shawols had with you.
