I'm Alive: Updates + Future Writing Plans

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd take this time to update you on my writing plans, and if you care to know, I have a couple life updates, too!

So, first of all, I know I left you guys hanging with "Rhapsody in Scarlet" as well as "Ever So Gently." Things got super hectic at work around Thanksgiving time, and directly after that was crunch time for our annual gala. So I was rushing around doing work and providing support to my team, which left very little time for me to do any of my own writing. I still have all my outlines and notes and drafts for both stories, however, so I do have plans to pick them up again. Especially "Rhapsody in Scarlet."

Some shameless promotion here, but if you're interested in knowing a bit more about the gala I worked, check out the website here or click here to watch the replay of the live stream. There are performances by Kinjaz, Epik High, Judith Hill, Michelle Lee, and the East West Players, plus some really great speeches by Daniel Dae Kim, Awkwafina, Ross Butler, Grace Park, Ted Chung, and others! I was behind-the-scenes running the company Twitter, so if you head on over to our account you can check out my Tweets (including my Daniel Dae Kim Superman tweet that low-key went viral, hehehehe).

Other life updates: I've started studying for the GRE, and I am planning to apply to grad school starting in 2018. That, or self-publish a book/send more book proposals out are going to be my New Year Resolutions. You all are witnesses to me stating that, so feel free to check me throughout the year, haha.

I'm also dating someone now. It's been about a month. We met through mutual friends at Disneyland. He's very nice, is a bit older than me, is really into dancing, studied math in college, and is an ARMY and a Once, but I'm trying to get him to like Taemin, lol.

I'm actually looking for a new job, too. Still looking for something in the journalism business, but through my current job, I've also developed an interest in marketing, PR, and social media, so I am keeping my options open. I love where I work now, but I am clocking way too many hours to be accepting part-time pay, so I'm looking for someplace with the budget to hire me full-time. Most of the resumes I've been sending out have been to companies in Orange County or the Bay Area, so if I get hired, I will have to deal with moving, too.

Anyways, that's what I've been up to. If we have ever talked much on this site, comment below and let me know what's going on with you, too! Looking forward to being on this site more and talking to you guys :)

The gala you worked on looks awesome - between that and the new boyfriend, it sounds like things are going really well for you. I'm happy to hear that. ^_^

Best of luck with grad school, if that's the way you decide to go. I don't remember if I'd told you or not, but I'm currently in grad school, working on my master's in art history and museum studies. It's really rewarding and I'm learning a lot, but it's taking a lot of time and effort too.

Of course, it could be that the reason I have no time is because I'm taking a class (only one each semester - I'll finish eventually), working full-time, and doing an assistantship at my university. I'm *really* looking forward to my upcoming Christmas/January break.

Oddly, though, having practically no time to write is actually helping my writing: I spend so much time thinking about my story and wishing I had time to write that when I finally do have time to write the chapter is practically written inside my head and it's just a matter of typing it out.
