sky; the side of her that everyone knows of, the side of her that she thinks she is.
sky is cold and doesn't like to show her true emotions. she's afraid to be vulnerable because she hates it when people are able to read her. she wants to be mysterious. although she seems confident and intelligent when given opportunities to speak, she is really bad at expressing her own emotions and people often think that she just has no emotions. and because she's so bad at expressing her feelings, when fighting for something she strongly stands for, she becomes passive aggressive.
'sky, stop. your mom is most probably dead. stop trying. you know it's impossible, you know it.'
'screw you, shin dong geun. you're ugly.'
sky usually doesn't show it when she's angry since only has a default facial expression, she seems angry all the time. but she doesn't actually get angry easily. her words may sound harsh, but she's not actually as irratable as it seems, unless, of course if you are kim joonmyeon...that's another long story however, because she has no one to talk to, she over thinks and sometimes, dig too deep into things and over-analyse.
because of how she was abused when she was a kid, she learnt that she could no longer have dependence on others, but she could only stand strong herself and fight for herself. 


shin kayeon ; the side of her who feels, loves and cares.
kayeon loves and cares for her parents, even her stepmom and step brother. even though on the surface, she pretends not care, and always thinks that she hate her stepmom and step brother, the truth is, subconsciously, she has already forgiven them. she took her time out to attend dong geun's graduation and even cooked for the family on mothers' day, but for sky, she'd just say that "well, i'm bored that's why". But who would bother to do these things if they truly didn't bother to? deep down, kayeon is also thankful for her stepmom because out of her abuse, kayeon grew to be strong and she grew to crave perfection, to do better and work harder for all things.
kayeon loves her puppy cloud and when she's with cloud, she's the most 'human'. she smiles, she laughs and she loves. every end of the day she receives the most joy from cloud that's always energetic, the polar opposite of her. 
also, kayeon cries. but because sky would never cry in public, kayeon cries alone at home. she often feel upset for not being able to show more care towards others and not being able to step out of her comfort zone. because sky is so quiet, she sees and observes many more things happening, but she could never bring herself to say it, to speak the truth.

shin kayeon was born into a bed roses. a pair of lovely parents and a dad who was a famous lawyer. her dad was a busy man who only came home when kayeon is asleep and leaves before she's awake. her mom on the other hand, was always by her side. because of the stable income from her dad, her mom didn't not have to work. all was good until kayeon turned 11. her mom left without a word. 

"just call me sky." was the first thing she said to the unfamilliar faces that stepped into her home. "meet your step mom and step brother." that was the scene she will never forget. meeting the mean woman that her dad cheated with on her mom and the boy that was gonna steal her dad's attention away from her. as her dad continued to be busy with his career, her step mom was strict and often criticised her mom for being to lenient on her. she would physically abuse her for not doing well for tests, gaining weight, not 'behaving like a lady'. while going through all that, she watched
shin dong geun enjoying his life playing video games, having his homework done by people whom his mom paid and bribing the schools so that he didn't have to work hard to achieve success. 

sky strived to do well in every test and exam, hoping to get any attention from her dad, but it just seems like all her dad cared was earning more money, that witch woman whom she refused to refer to her as 'mom', and the her's son.

with that, sky decided to do well on her own and move out once she has money. she dreams to find her mom and to become more successful that her dad.

through the years when she lived alone, she still went home once a month to check on her family. although she'd always say 'I came back to see if shin dong geun wrecked my room', truth is, the family mattered to her.

in school, she had many fake friends who wanted to get close to her because of her background. but she couldn't find any true friends and eventually just shut herself out and lived as a loner. because of that, many people thought she was cold and arrogant, but she just couldn't and didn't want to be vulnerable to show her true self.

 lifestyle  she lives alone in an apartment in gangnam where the rich lives. she bought the apartment with her own savings and hard-earned money without any help from her dad.

why though? why am I not? Is it wrong to not smile, but it's my face, why do I have to force myself to do something I do not like? I don't crave attention so do I smile? Or do people smile because they want attention?...

apparently she was hired because her dad once worked closely with kim&co for some legal matters. he then spoke to joonmyeon's dad and recommended sky to be hired by monster inc. he agreed upon the trust he had in sky's dad that sky is capable and intelligent.

 "how's the office life?"  'well the usual stuff, working and gaining experience, probably plotting to take over the company... i mean for someone that hates socialising, when i don't speak, i see everything. all the gossips and strange relationships in the office...well not that i care...'

 "on coffee runs, what do you get?"  'uh... i don't drink coffee, but tea is good i guess? my mom loved earl grey tea.'

 "tell me about your company dinners"  'i don't enjoy socialising but it's interesting to observe people. people's innermost thoughts and feelings spewing when their drunk, hidden parts of their character and what not. you know how people don't really notice me because i'm so quiet? i kinda know everything...and let's not talk about boss during company dinners. i refuse to talk about him.'
 
 "i heard that you're chummy with junmyeon, can you tell me more about them?"  'chummy...? well he's uhh... /mumbles/ he's kinda dumb, i've no idea how he's even surviving? but i guess he's has his own kind of charm but-
umm... i don't like him that's for sure. uhh scrap that, i hate him? uhh... how about...no we're not chummy.'
