PERSONALITY:

Shinji's pretty much the girl next door and is down to earth when you get to know her. Hates real life drama and doesn't wanna take any part of it, but usually it somehow gets her involved with it due to others. Shinji goes with the flow without making too much of a fuss as long as it isn't an inconvenience to her or others. She's reserve and observant majority of the time and likes to take in her surrounding, and watch the scenery and enjoy the silence, if Shinji's able to. She speaks when spoken to and is always polite and tries to be friendly. Has a motherly-caring kind of nature within her that she takes care and cleans up after people despite it not being her own mess. Shinji's also a person who is loyal and doesn't betray someone's trust and is not that easily influenced by others.

Shinji at times does things without thinking until it's too late, but it's never to the point of harm of others. When provoked or angered, Shinji unleashes a new side of her that many people do not see often, and she usually lets out everything this way and does some physical harm to the other person. It's one of the few things Shinji doesn't want people to see her as. Shinji gets annoyed when she's left out of things if people invite her to hang out and do not engage her in things, and when she does she's polite and makes small talk, but if the other party doesn't keep up and just go back to doing whatever and ignore her, Shinji'll dislike him or her discreetly. Will become argumentative if something doesn't make sense to her or when the other person she is arguing with keeps on pushing her to say things that will need a retaliation or encounter with.

BACKGROUND: 

Shinji only knows what her adoptive parents have told her before what her birth parents tell her later on. Other than that, Shinji only knows for sure of what has gone on with her life while living in the Jeon household these past fifteen years.

She was about three or four years of age when she was adopted. Jeonghoon and Narae have been longing for a daughter as Narae was unable to conceive again after Hyungseok. Shinji just somehow came into their life one night after roaming around the city trying to locate her parents. Jeonghoon happened to come across her that night as she had fainted in front of his vehicle near his home. He panicked and took Shinji to Narae and ask his wife what they should do. Narae told him to stay calm and to let the little girl rest and see if they could ask Shinji question when she woke up.

Of course later on Shinji woke up only because Kyungrok and Hyungseok were curious about this little girl in their home they've never seen before. The boys were around ten and eight, respectively at the time. They basically made her cry and Narae shooed them away as she calmed Shinji down. Eventually Narae was able to get some information out of Shinji and they were her name which was actually Shinji and that her parents were a secret and she couldn't tell her who they were. Knowing that she wasn't going to get nothing out of the small child, Narae just asked if she was hungry and Shinji nodded that she was.

Anyways, longer story short, Narae informed Jeonghoon who panicked on how to return this kid to her real parents when they had nothing to go on. Shinji refused to leave the comfort of the home when Jeonghoon wanted to take her down to the station and something within Narae drew her to Shinji and told her husband that they were gonna take her in and adopt her. Jeonghoon thought it was crazy at the time, but to them it seemed like the only solution in the well-being of the small child.

Fastforward to the years down the road. Shinji's adoptive brothers never made fun of her. Well, they did it a few times when they were younger, but their mother scolded them so bad they didn't do it ever again. They grew up like actual siblings and Shinji's memories faded of her previous life and assumed the life she lived now as the daughter of Jeonghoon and Narae as well as the little sister of Kyungrok and Hyungseok. No one outside of their family knew about her actual birth secret and they made sure it was never brought up, but only among themselves.

Anyways, Shinji lived a pretty good life like any other person with a good background and upbringing. Normal to her was a working father who cared when he can and made time for family if the office didn't keep him. A housewife mother who made sure that her kids did well in school. Narae also made sure they learned to pick up after themselves to not be slobs, dirty, and disrespectful. The brothers were normal big brothers that teased their little sister  by stealing her stuffed animals and pranking her with creepy critters and dolls with big eyes. As for Shinji, was the baby of the family that tattled on her brothers when they were mean to her and helped out her mother with dinner and the likes.

Through all this up until the end of her last year of junior high, Shinji went to audition at CUBE and wanted to pursue a career in singing. She wasn't sure about it, but a few of her classmates were talking about it and that they should all try. Major reasoning was mainly due to CUBE being like the next new big rising thing and had some good artists within the company as well. Shinji wasn't as confident with herself, but she did and passed.

So to the present day... (IF SHE'S CHOSEN) she debuts. Somehow her birth parents get wind of their long-forgotten daughter becoming an idol. They know that idols make a lot of money and since their running low on funds, they need to find some connections again to make bank off of her and the idol life. Besides the birthmark or scar of identifying her, they assume it has to be her is that their daughter was named Shinji. She should be the same age as this Shinji now. Also that they abandoned her in Seocho and was the last location they were aware of her presence and the likes.

The reason the birth parents abandoned her in the first place was because a child caused complications in their little "shady" entrepreneur business. They were young when they had Shinji. Although not young in mindset they were still young in wanting to live life and not be hindered by responsibilities. They didn't have time to care for her or feed her in a sense as well as spend on money that wasn't necessarily benefitting them. Plus they couldn't send her to daycare or school and the likes later on as that would mean they had to include their information and at the time they needed to stay low-key from the police and other shady people. So in their mind, abandoned a child on the streets while the child was still young and small was simple to do and Shinji would be someone's problem.

Anyways, when Dongwon and Naryung eventually meet up with Shinji again they recount their little sob stories of trying to find her and how life got the better of them and that they couldn't continue to look for her 24/7 and blah blah. Some times they mix up the stories and people kind of correct them, but they are smooth talkers and so direct the topic elsewhere. They just need to make sure to stick it out as long as possibe for the funds to kick in and they could disappear from Shinji's life again.

• sports [prefers playing them instead of watching unless in real life]
• horror, suspense films [loves the thrill it gives her while solving the plot itself, although real life is a different story]
• peaches [something about the scent and feel of it soothes her while the taste is just plain delicious]
• sweets [not like sugar candy o chocolate kind of sweets, but cookies, brownies sort of sweets. she prefers these over the other stuff]
• animals [just simplistic adorableness from them and with them]
• music [melodies, harmonies, beats, all sorts of sounds that can make something with a tune. it's a whole new world of its own]

✩ DISLIKES

• dark colored soda [just doesn't like the taste of them]
• seafood [just not a fan of shellfish, although will eat the other different types of fish]
• heat [if it gets too hot, she becomes itchy and uncomfortable, also feels uncomfortable if someone else's body heat is too warm for her to be next to, and would move away to create space and not into skinship with those she doesn't know]
• actual berries [prefer artificial flavoring unless it's mixed with other baked goods, by themselves she will not eat and pick off of her food and plate]
• chick flicks [they bore her and always make the female lead boring and weak and such, especially with the story plot being predictable]
• people interrupting her sleep [especially if it's for a dumb reason or at odd hours]
• people making a mess and not cleaning up after themselves [it hella annoys her as some people just don't have common sense and know basic manners]

✩ HOBBIES

• photography [likes to make memories and so captures thing in the moment as much as possible]
• snacking [all the time, always seems to have some form of food on her, prefers not to share]
• reading [helps to let her escape into another world with different characters and such]
• playing sports [whether cold, warm, whatever. as long as she's able to play even if by herself]
• singing [she's been humming and singing since young and her family really enjoy listening to her as they can't sing themselves]

• rubs her thumb against her forefinger and middle finger when nervous, anxious, or thinking of something
• scrunches her face when disgusted or uncomfortable about something
• talks with her hands when she gets excited or worked up and the only time people can really tell she's happy or furious
• sips yogurt through a straw [quicker and been doing it since she was a toddler]
• smells books before reading them [saw a kid did it back in elementary and became a habit]
• curses or mutters in mixed languages and forgets that others may not understand her

• being alone in the dark without lights [just the thought of not being able to see makes her anxious]
• thunder [it makes her anxious when she hears the loud unsuspecting vibrations that irks her ears and lingers a bit after]
• lightning [because it could strike you at any time if not careful, and it just makes her anxious as she would count to see how many miles they are away when they flash unexpectedly]
• attended french school of seoul [click! from until first year of junior high]
• pretends she's ambidextrous [as she can build up her motor skills, mainly right-handed]
• only eats cheese melted [it tastes better to her that way]
• skilled in several ball tricks [spinning it on her fingertips, dribbling between her legs, juggling it between her feet and knees, and doing some fancy hand and foot work with it
• finds porcelain dolls super creepy [their big eyes look soulless and feels like her life could get away if she stares too long, plus her brothers always scared her with them every Halloween]
• despite being skillful in sports coordination, at dancing somehow and doesn't know how and why [this will change if she's chosen for the backup or whatever]
• can drive, but doesn't have a license
• she was told early on that she was adopted and it was only talked among the family, but other than that, it wasn't such a big deal until her birth parents came into the picture

RELATIONSHIPS:

she's close with them and can talk to them about almost anything, but mainly with her older brothers as she's more comfortable with them. her parents are kind of protective and have a sister complex with her that they neither confirm or deny. also they the most, but become protective if others take it too far for their liking.

they're close and like that of family. they fight. they argue. but they make up and talk it out and still hang out with one another. some times it'll take a day other times longer, but in the end they always try to work it out as they are a group and like that of family and have to watch out for one another.

more or less close, but lots of respect towards them. go to one another if needs advice and how to adapt to the idol life and what not. but majority of the time is to just relax and talk like that of family and such. also she's a little more comfortable with the males as they remind her a lot of her brothers.

✩ birth parents - Kim Dongwon (43), Min Naryung (41) / entrepreneurs / selfish, charming, manipulative, conniving, calculative and the likes
at first it's awkward and uncomfortable. eventually Shinji gives them a chance and her birth parents try really hard to keep up their facade. in the end it can only work for so long and Shinji gets weird vibes, but she really wants to give them a chance and connect in a way and learn about the two people that share her blood and DNA with.

LAST COMMENT: hello there! hope you like Shinji. also hope you don't mind that she doesn't have a love interest. i think it would be great instead for her to learn to love herself more and that having her birth parents' love isn't as important as she thought and that love from her "real" parents (adoptive) and siblings, group members, and the fans makes up from the lack of that. anyways, i kind of drew inspiration from JYJ's Jaejoong's real life story along with the Chinese drama Beautiful Secret starring Victoria Song and just kind of made it fit for Shinji. so I hope that made sense. lol but other than that, it's been a while since i've last done a girl group application and hope she did well. if not i'm sure y'all let me know about it and what not. but good luck with this group and story and can't wait to see the journey that they all go through.
