A week and a half ago I posted an 11 question anonymous survey and received 500 (technically 503, then 499 after removing a couple of accidental duplicates) answers. Here are the results of everyone's answers going in order of each question asked. The questions will be underlined, my commentary in a colored text, and the data in black text. (Also, I didn't take the survey, so I'm going to just put my answers in at the end with my commentary in case you were curious about my answers ^^)

1. How old are you?

This is listed from youngest to oldest. First the age, then how many people said they are that age, followed by the percent of how many people who took this survey chose that answer [age : # ppl who gave that answer = overall percent]. At the bottom is where the overall average age of people who took this survey is stated. Fun fact: you are supposed to be at least 13 to have an account on AFF and to read rated M stories.

The AVERAGE age, meaning all these ages added together and divided by the total number of ages, I personally guessed would be around 20, maybe a fraction above 20 but still under 21. I guessed this because I've seen a lot of teenagers, but also a signifcant amount of college kids and a good amount of grown adults who talk about talking their college aged kids places, etc. I've known for a while that there is a wide age range on AFF. 

Average age : 20.3 (and not including the "69" result which was most likely a joke, it's still 20.2)

I'm shook because I turned 20 a little over 2 months ago, so I'm about /almost 20.2 years old myself .-.

Most common answer : 19 (67 people answered this, 13.4% of people who took this survey)

2. Who is your ultimate bias(es)? 

I should have just said "ultimate bias" instead of letting ppl put multiple, cause this was a LOT of info to sort through. Even with just counting the first person that people listed, there were 148 different idols/groups (because some ppl just wrote group names instead of individual idols). There fore I'm just going to show the results of how many people listed how many number of idols/groups. I'll include a link to a doc if you want to read what idols people listed since I don't want to spam this post with long long lists of names.  Maybe I'll try to ask this question in a future survey but in a better/different way so there will be more interesting/less diverse results. 3. What continent are you from?

Asia : 215 = 42.7%

North America : 166 = 33%

Europe : 86 = 17.1%

Australia : 18 = 3.6%

South America : 11 = 1.2%

Africa : 6 = 1.2%

Antarctica : 1 = 0.2%

(I'm from North America. Makes sense most ppl on here are Asian considering the name of the site haha). 

4.Is English your first/native language? 

Listed from most answered to least answered options. Fun fact : 1.5 billion (1500 million) people worldwide speak English, but only 375 million of whom are native speakers. Meaning only 25% of people who speak English worldwide are actually native speakers.

Yes : 153 = 30.4%

No, but it is the one I use most online/on AFF : 144 = 28.6%

No, but it is the one I use most : 94 = 18.7%

No, but it is the language I am best at : 88 = 17.5%

No, and I really want to improve my English : 24 = 4.8%

Overall, 30.4% said yes and 69.6% of people said no. Of the people who took this survey, more people are native English speakers than worldwide average by 5.4%. I myself am a native English speaker, but I still make tons of mistakes despite being "good" in classes growing up and overall compared to friends and family haha. 

5. How many languages can you speak/know?

I messed up with how I asked this question. I couldn't decide if I wanted people to just enter the number amount or write out all the languages they knew. It ended up some people wrote just the number while some wrote the actual languages. There fore these results are based just off of numbers since I didn't have full results on which actual languages people spoke. I may re-ask this question in a future survey in a better way. The results below are [# of languages : how many people answered with this = overall percent of people who answered with this option] in lowest to highest amount, followed by the average amount of languages people said they know.

89.9% of people said they know more than one language, while 54.9% said they know more than 3!

Despite most fics on AFF being in English, most people know other languages besides English. Hopefully more people will start posting in languages besides just English. Personally, I know English, Spanish, Korean and Mandarin well enough to speak comfortably. So I would answer 4 to this question. But I know bits of many other languages as well^^. Learning languages is very fulfilling, fun and useful in real life, and I highly encourage everyone to study another language if you aren't currently!

6. What do you do most of on AFF?

Read : 436 = 86.7%

Post stories : 45 = 8.9%

Other stuff : 19 = 3.8%

Talk to people : 2 = 0.4%

Look at other peoples accounts/stuff but never talk to them : 1 = 0.2%

That last option is what I do most of, just click around on people's stuff but rarely talk to most of them. Me and that one person who picked that option are the creeps of AFF I guess lol.

7. What is your biggest goal/thing to achieve on AFF currently?

I wanna write more. But looks like a lot of people mainly read and wanna read more on here. Interesting. And good for writers haha.

9. Do you like that AFF is majority kpop/korean related, or do you wish it was more diverse?

Yes, I like kpop/korean media the most. But I don't mind other kinds of stories/things on AFF. : 302 = 60%

Yes, I only like kpop/kdramas so that is the only kind of thing I want to see on aff. : 124 = 24.7%

I don't really know much about Asian entertainment/media outside of kpop, so I never really thought about it. : 44 = 8.7%

No, I like other things besides kpop and wish it there was more on AFF. : 33 = 6.6%

I'm in the last boat, I like other stuff besides kpop and wish there were more of other things, like more chinese/japanese, even thai or filipino stuff. Seeing the same korean bands over and over on a site that is open for any kind of asian fan fics is kinda boring :/

10. Do you use other writing/fanfic/story websites besides AFF?

Yes, sometimes. I mostly use AFF though. : 207 = 41.2%

I use wattpad sometimes when I wanna read non-kpop (1d/5sos usually tbh) stuff. but I still mostly use aff tho. 

11. If you could move to a different continent, which would it be? (where you live now → where you'd move)

Since there are a lot of different results for this question, I'll only share the top 5 most answered, since the percents get pretty small after that. 

Stay in the same continent and just move to a nearby different country : 128 = 25.4%

North America to Asia : 89 = 17.7%

Asia to Europe : 74 = 14.7%

North America to Europe : 45 = 8.9%

Europe to Asia : 44 = 8.7%

I live in North America and I'd move to Asia. I'm so basic lol.

The last section of the survey is where I asked for people to leave questions I could include next time, which about 50% of people said "idk/ask anything" but the other half of people left good questions. I won't list them all here because it would make this post very long. But I hope seeing these results was interesting, and I plan on having a new survey up for November up by the 31st at the latest, so I hope you look forward to taking that one^^ Good day/night~
