shino a short version of his first name and prefers to be called shino rather than shinobu as its much more simple than to say three syllables. he also finds the last syllable of his name to be more harsh when spoken. everyone calls him shino.

ghost he's a silent person at most and tries not to have the spotlight on him at all moments. most of the times, shino would walk silently or move something and people would claim there was a ghost in the room but it's simply just shino with his low presence.

japanese this language is shino's native language. although he has been living in another country for most of his life, shino has continued to participate in lessons to keep up with learning japanese. he is quite fluent in it and often speaks it when he has the chance. he also writes his notes in japanese.
korean shino is now fluent at korean although he does end up making a few small mistakes, some koreans had thought that shino was born and raised in korea due to the level of proffiency he is at.
english shino is horrible at english. he wasn't used to the alphabet and pronunciation of words in the english language and simply couldn't concentrate while learning due to the vast difference between the languages he had learnt and this one. shino, at best, can only speak japanese english and broken english.

he isn't the best, but shino is definitely not the worst if he were to be compared to the rest of the trainee line-up. at most, he's a 1.5 on the singing scale. his style of singing is mostly like soft emotional and not upfunk; lo-fi and chill genre with a mix of k-r&b.

now this is what shino is best at. although his voice isn't the ideal deep voice that most rappers these days have, shino's style of fluent rapping with a slightly higher pitch is what sets him apart. he also seems to have more emotion in his rap whatever the tempo; if he's rapping fast or slow.

shino is one of the more mediocre dancers in the group. the most average to say the least. he makes mistakes, though not drastically, and shines during some of the more basic of moves. still lacking compared to the main.

appearance shino is quite literally the personification of 'asians don't raisin'. he looks as if he hasn't aged a day past 20 with his slim petite figure and smooth milky skin. shino is actually quite feminine to the point if you put a long wig on him he'd look like a young girl. perhaps it's because of his button nose, plump rose lips or his long eyelashes covering his onyx eyes accompanied by the slightly wavy strands of natural dark brown hair. his height is 163 centimetres (5'3), with the weight of 50kg which is fairly light.
surprisingly, shino has fairly large tattoos complimenting his smooth skin. he has a delicate anklet tattoo of flowers around his right ankle, matching wrist tattoos of flowers on both wrists and a circle tattoo of the great wave off kanagawa on his back. during particularly hot summers, shino often tans into a lovely natural gold-brown skin tone.
style his style is considered quite simply and minimalistic. he often pairs his simple shirts tucked into his skinny or ripped jeans. shino enjoys wearing button-up blouses and simple shirts as they aren't eye catching and could be paired with most clothing items. his choice of shoes are mostly sneakers or boots with platforms as they give him more height. because of his tattoos, jyp often makes him wear long sleeved shirts or jackets to cover them. occasionally when it's chilly, he wears sweaters and often pairs his hoodies with denim jackets.

BACKGROUND
when he was young, shino was raised by an only father, a young man in his first year of university who was to say the least, careless during his ual activities. shino was a stark reminder to his father to what he had done as shino took after his mother in appearance and personality. his father couldn't get rid of him, he knew it was his mistake and that he was responsible for it, after all the mother was under eighteen and was still in school somewhere halfway across japan. most of shino's early childhood was spent inside his fathers small apartment as he couldn't go anywhere during the day as his father was in university. when his father was gone, he was taken care of by his grandfather. because of the lack of interaction during his childhood years, shino became socially awkward with other children his age and often spent time by himself since he felt scrutinised by other people.
when he's by himself at home, shino often finds himself watching the music shows on television. the idea of people singing and dancing together on one stage, looking carefree and making people happy interested shino. would he make friends if he were an idol too? it perked his interest and his father took him out to karaoke on multiple occassions afterwards. he was an... okay singer; after all, for most people singing is a talent that is learnt upon. so, when shino was twelve in 2004, he auditioned to become an idol in japan. he was accepted and trained harshly. there were sets of rules applied when he became a trainee. it pushed him to the limit at times, though he kept his own troubles to himself.
( see to shino's trainee life. ) by the time shino had begun his fifth year at avex, he knew he wasn't going to debut. he was nearly a teenager and most boy groups wanted young people. they would replace him with younger, more talented people. they didn't need an idol member who could only write songs and lyrics, that was only an added bonus. so along with graduating highschool with a music scholarship that he had achieved as a trainee, he moved to south korea to become an assistant composer. he had begun learning korean beforehand, learning it to a basic level. everything falls into place afterwards. he became a trainee shortly after, found a partner....etc. what else do i write?

trainee background thirteen years in total ; eight years at jyp entertainment, five years at avex group japan.
how'd you get in? strangely enough, shino did not get accepted into jyp entertainment to become a trainee in 2009. he was originally a small-time composer and lyricist when he first joined the company. later on he would then sing or rap in his demo songs which some staff commented that he could be a great asset to the idol spectrum as he could sing and rap decently and had great visuals. only then in 2011 that he transferred over to the trainee department, auditioning like anybody else under the influence of his friends in the composing department.
TRAINEE LIFE
avex group japan shino was quite well known as a trainee in this music company. it's a very large, well known company and to be a trainee or an artist under the label is quite an honor. shino was one who was training to become one of the members of a j-pop group. during his third year training in 2007, shino grew fascinated with composing and lyric-writing as it was a fundamental aspect of creating a song. he continued to be left in the shadows on his own will during his last few years at avex group, slowly beginning to lack in training as he focussed on his songwriting.
jyp entertainment the decision to move to another country to pursue his dream was large and it was either go big or go home, quite literally. at first, he caught the attention of both staff and trainees' alike but the attention soon disapated. as he was a new foreign composer, shino was often mocked by the other producers which led to shino redeveloping his social anxiety. with the help of new acquaintances, shino attempted to break out of his shell and follow what his peers had told him to do - move to the trainee department as his skills in rapping were great.
so when he had moved over to become a trainee, shino became one of the more respected trainees out there. for one, there was his age and his relationship with the producers and staff alike, but it was also the fact that he wasn't a new trainee as he had trained back in avex group. shino had never thought he'd end up being a trainee once more. training in a korean label was significantly harsher than in japan. the former had lots of rules to abide but the training was what made it harsh in korea. still, shino was still classified as a songwriter and continued to work on his songs whilst training. his social anxiety never did go away but it had gotten better as the years went by.
although shino was extremely preoccupied during his trainee years, he still made it out of his way to help other trainees. he couldn't bare to see the a failing trainee, it reminded it of himself during avex in his last years and as a composer, so shino began helping numerous trainees. one significant trainee that shino helped the most was jason and he was the one that shino most related to. a young foreign trainee who was by himself, save for jackson and mark who were in different trainee classes. since shino had met jason when he was only a songwriter, he helped jason with his vocals and such.

jyp's composer, lyricist : shino, under his name, was originally a composer and lyricist for jyp. although he did not create many title tracks, he did write for many of jyp's artist's side tracks or the translated japanese lyrics for japanese songs that were created. as noted, he isn't as well known as other producers in jyp.

shino produced this three-track album by himself to prove that he could produce and write his own music and, to the fans, that he could sing a little (albeit not as good as the other members) and that rapping wasn't his only talent.

universal ruler's shino involves disses against bts in new album : along with his self-produced album, shino had come under fire for his song 'gold' involving swearing and a supposed diss against bts. the line that the procclaimed diss was "'too cool 4 skool' f**k it." army's argued that the line was supposed to be a dismissal of bts' debut album '2 cool 4 skool' and was aimed at younger aged groups in the lines before that. shino then explained on his instagram that the line was simply an old phrase and that fans should stop coming to conclusions. many agreed with him but some armys still accuse him of dissing bts.

HOWD YOU MEET? back in 2014, shino used to work on his compositions and lyrics in a neighbourly café near the apartment he was living in. he was a regular customer and the staff loved it when he went there as many girls from the nearby school would come to the café to take a peek at the handsome young man. taesoo at the time, freshly eighteen, had worked there for a very long time and has had a long crush on shino for a very long time. mustering up her courage, she wrote a little confession and hid it under his serviette. after finishing his coffee, shino replied back to taesoo and invited her to a date as he accepted her confession despite being a complete mess in his mind.
RELATIONSHIP taesoo knew since the beginning of the relationship that shino was an important figure in jyp, as a trainee, a future idol, a composer. she knew once he told her that he would debut their relationship would soon be limited. they text often but leave no traces of ever knowing each other. shino would often visit the cafe which taesoo would work in to visit her, though they would act as if they wouldn't know each other. it's hard for both of them. knowing they're so close yet so far apart. shino would often have to disguise himself to go on dates with taesoo. their dates would often be in their homes, museums, small cafes or in cinemas. shino would often go after music show schedules when he'd have nothing afterwoods, he would travel with the staff members until he'd know there'd be no fans. with the help of suzy, taesoo would meet shino in the dorms pretending to visit suzy.
