A story I am considering to make, but am conflicted with whether I should do it or not. Basically it shall be a high school /college au following the show choir club. They used to be the best of the best, but as years went by, has become one of the worst. Enter several students who want to return its legacy to what it once was before. Yes, I have always liked movies/series like Glee, High School Musical, Camp Rock, etc. And this is also heavily inspired by the anime Haikyuu, if anyone knows it? 

 

Crescendity is the name of the club which stands for Crescendo (a gradual increase in loudness/intensity) and Serenity (state of being calm). Which is suposed to mean that they are a group that can cover a wide array of songs and amotions, showing constant growth in their progress. (I think that's what it was suposed to mean, I never actually wrote it down when I thought of the name months ago)

Genre: Romcom, Slice of Life, Friendship, Drama, Inspirational, Everything in between

001 ♡ I like to write characters as close as possible to the real people. So answer this the way you would answer it.

She wants to try out crop tops, but is too self-conscious. Wears her hair in a high ponytail or just down. Converse, or combat boots. Likes cool earrings and necklaces. Regular dark brown hair with reddish highlights.

PERSONALITY ♡ INFP

Rika always tries to find the good in a person, and she's always trying to make people happy. Many people go to her if they need life advice. She puts her all into things she is passionate about and hopes for the best. She's very nice, and tries her best not to upset anyone else, because she likes seeing people smile. However, she isn't bubbly or cutesy; she's actually very sarcastic when talking to her friends. She insults her friends jokingly and loves teasing them (especially if they like a guy). She gives everyone second chances, which causes some people to take advantage of her kindness. She's also a realist, and sees things the way they are. This helps her accept people and situations. Also, while she is enthusiastic and talkative, this is only with people she knows very well. She becomes silent and statue like when public speaking or meeting new people. She's not the type to go to large parties because she doesn't like the extremely suffocating atmosphere.

Though she is optimistic, many times she uses her optimism to hide her stress and anxiety. Rika tries to convince herself that everything will be great and happy, but her inner self comes out at times and tells her she’s going to fail. She hides all her sadness inside because she doesn't want to deal with solving it and doesn't want to bother others with her problems. This is the main cause of her occasionally having mental breakdowns. She also doesn't have a high self-esteem, and doesn't appreciate herself as much as she should. Her mind is like a warzone and she has second thoughts about everything, but she stays calm and happy on the outside. If she's pushed too hard, she might break down and cry, which surprises people. She cries a lot, but only when she's alone. Fun fact, she cusses a lot and uses foul language but controls herself when she's near strangers and people she's not very close with.

He looks out for Rika, but isn't the overprotective type. The two quarrel a lot, but also enjoy playing videogames with each other. He's not so picky about who she's friends with or who she dates, but mainly because he thinks she can't get a guy :') Rika is very open with him, even telling him about who she likes, etc. He gives her advice if she asks, and will probably tell her if she's doing something wrong in life.

Potato buddies! Meme buddies! They joke around and also do stupid things together. They like making terrible puns and laugh at their own jokes even if others find their jokes questionable. Maerin is always teasing Rika about whoever she likes. She knows about Rika's crush on Myungsoo. She tells Mae everything, even if mae is a blabbermouth. xD she trusts her the most~

Rika is also friends with Seul Yi and other roommates but didn't tell them about liking Myungsoo. They all enjoy being around each other's companies.

She's also in a design major, so Rika looks up to her and asks her for advice and also gets relationship advice, which is precisely why Jangka is mildly similar to Chanrin

SHE'S my mommy friend and saw the Jangka ship coming before anyone else. She attempts to give me advice but I am forever in denial.

Rika and Myungsoo are very close friends, and Rika has a major crush on Myungsoo. Myungsoo loves to also joke around with her and they make pretty good memories. He's not clueless about the crush she has on him, but she's his close friend so he doesn't say anything. He doesn't want to reject her, but also isn't ready to accept her. He's mainly unsure of his feelings because he doesn't know whether he likes her or not. Rika is friends with Seul Yi but doesn't know that she likes Myungsoo as well, and when she finds out she feels very conflicted on what to do because Seul Yi is a close friend.
PAST ♡ In middle school, she performed; singing with guitar for a district competition, but someone tampered with the equipment during her round, and the guitar was out of tune and mic was on low volume. Ever since then, she refused to touch her guitar or sing in front of anyone. She still doesn't know who tampered with it and why, but she never wanted to return to music after that incident. Music just reminded her constantly of the moment she was standing on stage, blank faced and confused at what had happened. Her self esteem dropped and she lost interest in singing and playing the guitar. She gets really angry and bothered if anyone mentions it.

(This actually happened :( except it was my fault that I let someone touch my guitar before the performance...)

I'm an Design + Media Arts major. My favorite class is animation, and I hate Physics with all my heart.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN SHOW CHOIR? ♡
...Myungsoo forced me into this. He promised me he'd buy me ice cream or bubble tea every week, so it sounded like a good deal. I also live by the quote I wrote down earlier, so I can't let my past control me forever, right? I have to move on and try again. And because I'm a stupid lovestruck idiot who followed the other idiot, Myungsoo, into this club. He convinced me to sing again, so I should...right?

HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLUB? ♡
If there is dancing involved, I will definitely help with the choreography and gestures. And, if they need help with makeup/costume design, I gotchu ;) Hopefully that will make up for me not being able to sing as well as the others. I can do makeup on the guys as well, if it's needed~ OH IMPORTANT FACT! If there is ANY scene involving a ceiling fan, COUNT ME IN.  

HOW GOOD IS YOUR MUSICALITY? ♡
I sing when I'm on my own or in the shower, but my voice isn't as good after years of no practice, and I don't have very much confidence in it. My friends tell me I sound good when I'm quietly humming, but that's probably just them being nice? Hopefully I'll be able to gain some of my vitality and enthusiasm back after joining and participating... 

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU CAN MUSICALLY IMPROVE ON? ♡
My vocal stability and strength need the most work. I would like to be able to hold my notes for longer and sound confident while singing. I hope there is a way I can improve my confidence level by being in this club.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SINGING/RAPPING? HAVE YOU HAD PROFESSIONAL TRAINING? ♡
I took singing lessons as an elementary schooler and part of middle school, but I stopped after the competition. Rapping has always intrigued me, but I don't know how if can develop it since it's already so late ahahaha.

HOW MUCH MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE DO YOU HAVE? ♡
I literally unlearned everything. I can still barely read guitar notes on the treble clef, so don't trust me to know vocab. I'm done with that sh*t lol. However, I am able to tell when someone isn't singing to their full capability or singing with their head voice.

WHAT IS HIS PERSONALITY LIKE? ♡
Positive: Energetic, comedic, caring, encouraging, understanding

Negative: Oblivious, careless, flirty, uhh

Jangjun is where the energy comes from. He's got a lively, loud personality, and he's LOUD and comes off as loud.. and is really loud. Also he's really lou- anyways, he doesn't shut up unless he's concentrating hard on something he enjoys or unless something serious happens. He is also compassionate, and cares for his friends. He also loves pulling pranks on them. He understands his own feelings very well, but can't notice others feelings as well. He always goes ahead with a concrete goal; if he sets a goal, he really tries hard to accomplish it. He winks...a LOT, which can cause his SO to feel jealous and get annoyed easily. He's a finesser, so a lot of girls fall for his flirting. 

WHAT IS HIS MAJOR, FAVORITE & LEAST FAVORITE SUBJECT? ♡
Architecture major. He loves math and physics but hates English.

WHY DID HE JOIN SHOW CHOIR? ♡
He has a passion for performing and rapping. He enjoys the excitement and energy in a show choir, and would love to get a good role in it as well. 

HOW GOOD IS HIS MUSICALITY? ♡
He comes off as a rapper, so that is his specialty. He doesn't sing a lot, but he'll sing for the girl he likes~ :) He can play piano too which makes up for not being able to sing as well.

HOW MUCH MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE DOES HE HAVE? ♡
He is very knowledgeable about music, even though he seems like he doesn't care or know much. He's very intelligent and knows everything. He just looks stupid on the outside, but in reality he has a very strong foundation in music. He probably understands it more than anyone else in the room.

ANYTHING ELSE WORTH MENTIONING? ♡
He's good at being an obnoxious loud face. LOL uhh, he can bring energy in the crowd with his loud voice and exciting facial expressions. He's not good at high notes. He tries to get Rika to be more confident and pushes her to try harder.

FIRST MEETING TOGETHER? ♡
Rika spots Jangjun dancing to girl group songs alone in the dance room after club finishes. She blinks at him with wide open in confusion and he gets really flustered and tries to explain himself. But then she's like "wait you're really good lol" and then they learn some together. He offers to take her out to get some ice cream on campus, so that happens. Ever since then, they continued learned dances after the club ended. IDK if this is interesting enough, or if I should change it.

HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER? ♡
Constantly arguing like a married couple (well mostly Rika yelling at Jangjun to stop talking). Rika likes his company, but still likes Myungsoo. Jangjun casually flirts with her a lot for fun and teases her by imitating Myungsoo. He does that arm against locker thing and interrupts in on her conversations with Myungsoo. He also likes to pick Rika up and piggyback her around campus, but she screams and yells at him in response. Whenever she's really angry with him or if he does something that flusters her she'll yell "LEE JANGJUN!!!"  Basically he's the one that initiates a lot of the skinship stuff and tries to hug her a lot but she doesn't like hugs unless it's from someone she likes, so she yells at him, etc. In summary, she originally is mad at him a lot, but slowly starts to give in and ends up secretly enjoying it. He's more forward with his affection and stuff. He greets her in the mornings with a punny freestyle rap, to which Rika either laughs or shakes her head, depending on how funny it is. Jangjun witnesses a lot of Rika's love for Myungsoo, but he doesn't think he's bothered by it. They both claim to not like each other and are oblivious of each others feelings. 

 

Once they do end up getting closer to becoming a couple in the story, Rika is forever in denial and avoids Jangjun because she can't deal with the emotions huhuhu But at this point Jangjun is determined to get her and will do anything to get her to fall in love with him ahahah

SCENE SUGGESTIONS ♡
I'm sure you have many ideas :( But here are some: Myungsoo rejecting Rika, and Jangjun spotting it happening from a corner. Rika breaks down and Jangjun angrily shows up from his corner glaring and grabs her arm and pulls her away from Myungsoo and out of there~ This can be the turning point for Jangjun where he finally understands his feelings. He's used to seeing Rika always smiling and wants to be the one that can make her smile unconditionally. :)

 

Ooohooh~ Another one can be their friends trying to set them up together in various situations even though Rika and Jangjun themselves are clueless about it.
