APPEARANCE mayumi has a black shoulder-length hair and white pale skin. she's short, standing in the height of 5'4. she has plump lips and double eyelids which defines her eyes more. 

Style mayumi has an undefinite fashion sense. that's what her friends say. her style will go from vintage to dark. it depends on her mood.

Personality
she is very lively and is considered one of her batch's happy virus when she was a trainee. mayumi is easily impressed and finds small things amusing or funny. that's why some people who doesn't like her say she's overacting everytime but that's how she really is. she also cries easily but she learned how to conceal it especially during her years as a trainee in sm entertainment, a company that has the strictest trainers of all. her most negative trait would be the part where she exaggerate things. it becomes really annoying than funny sometimes but other than that, mayumi is fine the way she is. 

background mayumi was born in daegu, south korea where her mom grew up but she was raised in japan. her family decided to move there a few months after mayumi was born. she grew up as a happy kid. she adapted her mother's good looks, she looked mostly korean which is why a lot of people admire her in their home town. she was told that she'd make a great kpop artist and during that time she still had no idea what a kpop artist is. she searched them up and she got hooked up with snsd's music. she dreamt of seeing them up close one day. 

there was a time where she convinced her mother to come back to korea but she disagreed because of their financial problem at that time. mayumi didn't give up though. she was 15 at that time and she was striving to harness her talents. luckily, jyp entertainment was holding an audition in tokyo. she made the effort totravel from kyoto to tokyo and she got in easily because of her singing and good visuals. 

she was sponsored to go to korea and attend a university but along with that, she has to work triple hard. years later, she got in sm entertainment and here she is now. an aspiring future member of black velvet.

Trainee years 1 year and a half (jyp) ; 3 years and 3 months (sm)
Trainee life mayumi came all the way from japan just to become an idol. she auditioned for jyp entertainment who was then holding a global audition for new talents in tokyo, japan. she was casted along with hirai momo and sana minatosaki, making her the youngest out of the three. she had to transfer to a school in korea so she can pursue her studies while training. luckily, her family supports her very well and jyp entertainment has granted her financial assistance for her studies if she works for them by casting on some music videos and being a back up dancer in concerts. she was friends with some twice members especially jeongyeon whom she is very close with. 

a year later she left the company after being approved by sm entertainment. her dream company just accepted her and who is she to waste the opportunity? she trained for sm entertainment for about three years, being a model, back up dancer and back up vocal for some songs of her sunbaes. now, she is looking forward to debut as one of the members of black velvet - part of the velvet series.
