A.C Day 2

OKAY back with cringe-worthy writing. I decided last night to omit al oneshots as well, because I feel as if oneshots cannot show the growth that I wish to examine in myself.

For today, I'm showing the crappy stories that I wrote in 2012. This will be the end of 2012, though, and for that I am grateful. lol.

We start with....

The Prince's Word:

I continue to hold the table with my body until he is out, and then with a quick burst of speed I dart out from underneath and crash right into Prince Seon's guards. A quick whirlwind of claws and strength later and I am the only one standing, and I see Jinwan off to one side of the room, pressed against the wall. A quick thought goes through my mind... I could escape. Leave him and his uncle here and let them die. Let Kel rule. But a small voice in my mind disagrees, tells me it's wrong... the boy has done nothing wrong. In time, he could learn to be the kind of ruler that Farth-borne deserves. He has the makings of a good man.

And so I move quickly across the room and take him with me out the window. He yelps in fear, probably thinking I am trying to kill him, but my hand catches the sill as we fall. He quiets when he sees where I was aiming for... there is a small cubby underneath the window ledge that will just fit the two of us. I swing us up, then motion for him to stay silent; they will be looking for us.

I must keep him alive. For Farth-borne's future, and for my own atonement, this boy must survive.

And continue into...

A Puppet Lord:

The boy's face is like stone; totally unreadable except for the anger in his eyes. "You. You tried to lead me like a blind child, and then when that didn't work, you tried to bully me. You imprisoned my Advisor, Commander Haewon, and led me to believe that he had abandoned me. You imprisoned me and you were going to have me executed. And yet after all of that, I was still willing to let you live to see me change this country despite you. But then...."

Lord Jinwan turns and pulls Haewon's sword out of it's scabbard. Turning back to Yoochun, I can see the fury in the boy's eyes as he faces the traitorous General. "Then you murdered the one person in this city I could fully trust. You murdered Zin, and for that," the boy leans forward so that his lips are close to Yoochun's ear and only because of my close proximity do I hear him. "For that, you bastard, you will pay. This is for Zin." And he stabs forward, straight through Yoochun's heart. Blood spurts everywhere but neither the soldiers kneeling on the floor or any of our party show shock... this man deserved his end, and it was fitting that it should come at the Overlord's hands.

As his body falls face down on the floor, Overlord Jinwan steps forward and reclaims his throne, bloody sword still in hand as he faces the people in his throne room. "This is my country, and no one will take it from me."

And then...

I will say. I am not as ashamed of these as I was of the first story, though I do know that these had a lot of plot holes and could definitely use a lot more skill in writing. But the lead character's had a lot more depth than I remembered and that at least is encouraging. I especially did enjoy Jinwan's growth through the two stories and as such, I can look back them with less of a cringe and more of a wince. LOL

This one really was more nicely written, and I love the depth that you put into some of the characters, and the way you killed Yoochun was great! The Evil Overlord is DEAD! It was a very good death, too. I loved that Jinwan found the strength to do it himself, too.
