princess born with a golden spoon and the care of many in the palace, the girl has no guards or any sense of danger. doesn't believe people approach her with bad intents because they don't even know her, why would they want to hurt her? due to this, she's easy going and generally likes to talk with everyone to see and hear interesting stories about the far off lands that she can't reach or what has happened in their life. well intentioned, she's out to help anyone she sees in need because a place with a little more good is a place with a little less bad. she's extremely susceptible to the word help and can never desert anyone who requests that from her. turning a blind eye is something ailey can never do. since she grew up having unlimited amount of resources, she's a thrifty spender who doesn't know her limits. will give everything she has on her to someone who needs it without thinking about what she'll do. also very carefree and fails to ever give up hope. the type to think good things can overcome all bad things in the end, good people have good lives and villains shall die without proper graves.

sister ailey is a very strong willed girl who has a habit of doing whatever the hell she wants. even if people criticized her actions, she tends to close her ears to them because her life, her choices. she's all about doing whatever makes her happy. that's what life is about. she wants to live not survive. this also includes saying whatever comes to her mind. she doesn't find the need to lie or beat around the bushes because there's still more good food for her to waste her time on instead. her words can be harsh but she doesn't mean to hurt people's feelings with them. very prideful, she hates to lose. she thinks losing automatically makes her weak and she doesn't want to be seen as weak or be taken advantage of. she naively believes that people won't use her but she also doesn't want to give the impression that she's an easy target.

visiter since the girl is always up to do whatever she wants, she doesn't like to follow the herd. and because women were told about all the qualities they should have as a female since the moment they were born, ailey was the type to do everything opposite of it. since she was royal, she'll hang out around the commoners more and be more like them. ailey tends to be triggered easily when she feels her pride is at risk or when she sees anyone being mean. she doesn't understand the bitterness that will lead people to treat each other poorly, she's had a pretty ignorant life. the girl is curious about virtually everything that she comes across. but she also has the attention span of a 2 month old baby. she comes and goes like the wind, living her life with the simple mindset that she just wants to be happy. therefor, she will do whatever makes her happy. thinking isn't really her forte to begin with since she mindlessly jumps into everything with the simple intent of having fun. she'll run off to buy sweets if it catches her eye and jump on a horse if she wanted to feel the wind. she's a visiter in everyone's lives - always gone before she really makes an impact; only ever staying long enough to listen to their stories and then moving on to the next interesting person she comes across.

the little sister of aveline, the princess of aequor, a fighter of the blues. ailey did not have the weight of the kingdom on her shoulders nor was she under the scrutiny of the nations. her life was fervently carefree, she played the days away and even the queens (first her mother, then her sister), couldn't force her to do anything she did not want. ailey wasn't studious or smart, showing terrible potential when it came to politics and leading her people. since aveline held that responsibility, most of the kingdom left her be. the girl was a good fighter though and has been urged by very few to join the ranks of the army. she never accepted it, saying she wanted to live life the way she wants but it's also because she didn't feel she'll be respected in the army. since she didn't take up the only role that seemed to fit her, ailey was pretty much useless to the kingdom and she knew that. she was often found outside the palace walls, wandering the world to try new food and meet new people instead of loitering around the palace with no agenda.

ailey had rushed home for the memorial when she heard about the assassination. she expected aveline to be by her side or at least see her somehow mourning for their mother but aveline exhibited none of these. instead, aveline's harsh ruling drove ailey further away. to aveline, benevolence has shown to be an unwisely choice since it led to the death of their mother but for ailey, at least her mother's benevolence helped aequor prosper. the people were happy and the warmth queen elianna had, radiated through the kingdom. ailey had gotten into arguments a few times with aveline because she didn't agree with her way of methods, although it usually ends with aveline reminding ailey why aveline was chosen to reign the kingdom and not her. and not to mention the demise of her mother which aveline will not follow in her footsteps for.

"you say mother's benevolence drove her to her demise but i guess you forget there's a sword aiming to pierce your heart. at least mother was adored by the kingdom."

"before you try to be a ruler, how about you learn to be a lady first."

with pride kicking her back into momentum (instead of just whining about aveline being mean), ailey finally left the palace to do something. if she couldn't convince her sister to settle down, she'll just have to try to convince the neighboring kingdom instead. and at least she wouldn't be nagged about being too unladylike or not having the proper ettiques for a royal. plus, aveline is still her sister and ailey wasn't willing to see her or the innocent get hurt if war was waged. so under the disguise of a traveler, ailey snuck her way into hajnal hoping to somehow come in contact with kalum and talk things over.

if kalum waged war : with kalum's full intent on assassinating aveline and ailey not wanting to watch her kingdom burn under the fury of the reds, she returns to her kingdom and actually joins the ranks of the army. she'll do whatever it takes to protect her home and at this point, will probably come to abhor kalum because he could've stopped the mass destruction that followed in a period of violence.

if aveline waged war : ailey wants to leave both kingdoms behind to not be a part of any bloodshed that will ensue. but she becomes the leverage that sehun has originally thought of her as, and the fury of being a pawn in his hand, especially one to hurt her kingdom, drove deep hatred into the girl. she escapes with all her might (maybe even with the sacrifice of caleb) back to aequor to fight in the war with the vow to herself, either he or her shall leave that battlefield. and no, she's not going to be one of those soft hearted love interests because once she has set her mind, only death can change it.

the two weren't the closest sisters growing up, with their differences in responsibilities but they both do care for each other and does little things to show their concerns. whenever ailey travels and find new delicacies, she'll bring them back to the palace for her sister and aveline would make sure ailey was well protected outside the castle walls. their mother's death drove them apart, and caused many arguments usually instigated by ailey. although they both still care, have other worries than to try and convince someone who can't see their pov. so they'll just do what they believe is in the best interest of their sister without wondering if they wants or accepts it. basically, they force their opinions on each other in a way, sort of.

since everyone ostracized cece for being the bastard child of the kingdom, this drove ailey to stick with the younger even more. it doesn't help that ailey hates seeing people alone since she never wants to be by herself. ailey feels closer to cece than she does to aveline, even if cece is half blood and aveline is fully blood related to her. the two younger aequor princesses have a knack for getting themselves in trouble - since they're the same type of people who does whatever the hell they want without much consideration for others. so they're usually the reason aveline has a headache first thing in the morning. because ruling a kingdom isn't enough work, aveline also has to make sure her sisters aren't pissing off important allies of the kingdom again - with cece's hobby of being quite the lover, and ailey's unrefined actions, as well as not provoking enemies into attacking. cece knew about ailey's plan to 'persuade' the reds into backing down and was the reason ailey successfully managed to maneuver her way into hajnal.

there's more than just luck when it comes to ailey being unscathed despite her troublesome personality and he's every reason. caleb was a high ranking guard with the gift tasked to protect aqueor's second princess. if not for his loyalty to the kingdom and the gratitude he had for queen elianna, he would've never taken the job. but seeing as he's the one who's always around and her only companion in her travels, they've gotten very close. he openly reprimands ailey and never lets her get away with everything. he'll save her when she's in ultimate danger but otherwise will sit by the sidelines watching ailey clean up her own mess. he knows she's a good fighter and kind of looks down at her sometimes for not fighting for her people by joining the soldiers and reminds her about this often. he's been alongside ailey for 22 years of her life so he's clearly one of ailey's most treasured people, even if she knows caleb is with her out of duty. she'll stick up for him in any given situation, and is the one person she will abandon everything for, especially since she knows caleb basically has no one else. he's the family she chose.

as someone with thick hatred for the blues, beda is suspicious of the new girl kalum brought back to the castle. her aura screamed not red and this red was deadset on getting to the bottom of ailey's identity. after witnessing ailey healing someone, beda would use drastic measures to obliterate the fog in kalum's eyes. maybe the king would finally come to his senses if he can see clearly. beda plans to plant as many traps as it takes for kalum to see the real treacherous blue underneath the fool facade. because no blue is good. that is until beda realizes at one point in time, ailey also healed her precious sister, pearle. ailey finds beda threatening in every way but the younger still holds a certain admiration for the general. she was everything ailey hoped she had the courage to be, to join the ranks, to be the badass that beda is. beda had the looks, the smarts, and even a certain amount of power. to ailey, beda was an inspiration although she would never admit that to anyone. especially with how much disdain she is met with whenever she so much as enters beda's line of sight. it also doesn't make it any better that she sees the interest kalum has for beda. but really, who was ailey to think she can win over beda in any way. when beda finds out about kalum's plans to use ailey, the debt beda feels like she owed ailey for saving pearle motivates beda to help ailey escape from hajnal.

first meeting : ailey had successfully entered hajnal and with her fat wallet hanging openly for all to see, she quickly became the target for crooks. they lied to her about a popular restaurant for travelers and without much thinking, she followed them. caleb went to fetch her the food she asked of him moments prior to find ailey disappeared. around the same time, kalum was walking around the markets to see how hajnal was currently thriving when he passes by an alley to see a crowd of men surrounding a tiny boy (based on her clothing) - who he assumed to be about 12. he couldn't allow a bunch of grown men hassling a kid and stepped up.

"what are you guys doing?"
"it's none of your business."
"it's the business of anyone with an ounce of conscience. a bunch of grown men threatening a kid. how pathetic."

with his presence, ailey had newfound courage to speak her mind around the big men who surrounded her.

"it's nice of you to step in and all, but i can handle these thugs by myself."

kalum laughs at the ridiculous declaration and decides to let the child entertain him.

"okay, go on then."
"you bunch of motheriing filth. how dare you try to rob me?! the nerves of you. do you know who i am?!"

the crooks seeing her as an easy prey pissed her the hell off and she's going to at least rip out a patch of hair from each of them as retribution. ailey pounces on the first crook who cackled but proved to be too weak against the huge man. her fighting was rather rusty from having been protected by caleb so much as well. as expected by everyone present, she was no match for the thugs.

"okay uhm. you can help now."

ailey walks away from the fight with a few scratch marks on her face but she dusts her sleeves off with pride. "that'll teach them trying to rob me."

kalum has deducted ailey was a girl in guy's clothing and the way she acted amused him, especially her stupid bravery.

"where are you from?"

"hmm seeing as you helped me back there, you can't be a bad person so i'll tell you. i'm from aequor hoping to meet the king." kalum quirked an eyebrow. is she forreal?

"i'm going to convince him not to wage war on aequor and hurt my sis- aequor's queen."

"do you know the dangers of walking into enemy territory? are you even aware that you're standing in the soils of the people who want to rip you to shreds?"

"if you don't tell and i don't tell, who will find out i'm from aequor?"

sehun almost rolled his eyes at the stupidity rolling off her tongue. if not for the fact that he interacted with her briefly, he would've had her head already. he just didn't feel she posed any threat. instead, she's a rather amusing form of entertainment. it was so refreshing to him that someone could be so honest with him, especially one from aequor. to say the least, he's intrigued. besides the fact that he believes he can get some information from her or at least turn her against her own kingdom. all in due time. for now, he'll keep her alive because she seems like she can provide him with something useful.

interactions : kalum invited ailey to live in the palace for the time being - hiding the fact that she was a blue from everyone else. afterall, ailey was just a kid who didn't know the dangers of stepping into the lion's cage. she didn't do anything wrong and the righteous heart he has comes to play again. besides, she could prove to be useful as leverage if things went really south with aveline. he has concluded that ailey was most likely a royal from aequor, and thus her foolishness and somewhat conceited mindset that she could possibly convince the red's king to change his mind. his thoughts were confirmed when ailey eventually let him know about her relation to aveline, quite early in their interactions actually. he kept ailey close, hoping to win her over to his side in close range. it would make aveline an easier target if he could get info out of ailey. ailey constantly trys to tell kalum that aveline isn't that bad and the two nations could actually coexist if they just tried, though kalum most often than not just laughs at her naivety. this girl was so foolish it was kind of sad. she obviously has no knowledge about politics and her simple minded thinking grew on kalum. he felt that she was someone he could trust - even if she was from the other side. ailey has shown nothing but honesty to him and the loyalty she has for her sister, despite despising the way aveline is currently ruling aequor starts to move his heart. he feels he can let his defenses down around her. she gets happy seeing bright colored food, curious about every little line on a leaf. she was a child at heart without an ounce of scheming, allowing him to let his guards down. ailey taught kalum what it means to be happy and how.

"i know what you can do for both kingdoms to coexist peacefully." if ailey wasn't so into her own talking, she would've seen the eye roll kalum gave. this was probably the fifth idea she's had within the past few minutes. "you and aveline should get married! then the kingdom would unite as one!"

"what about marrying you?" ailey laughs like he told the funniest joke.

"you do know the queen of aequor is my sister right?"
"i could help you become queen."
"you should just kill me instead."

love story : ailey brings a sort of innocence into kalum's life and he is able to learn what happiness is through her. and yes, ailey does end up falling for the righteous man but, she's not aware of her own feelings. she is also dead set on matchmaking kalum and aveline instead so that both kingdoms can live at peace under both the rulers. the only confirmation for kalum's feelings for ailey is that he treasures her as a friend. that much is clear. but anything past that is unknown. especially since he has girls wrapped around his fingers all the time, a side of him that pushes ailey to not actually fall deeper into her feelings for him. if she can't stop her own feelings, she'll die with them because she's well aware that her relationship with kalum can never go beyond friendship. he's the one man she wants but will never fight for. her love for him isn't worth the fight, and he definitely wasn't worth her throwing everything she had away since he basically had a portion of the world in his hands. kalum will hold back from his feelings because at the end of the day, he's the king of hajnal and he'll never abandon his kingdom. hajnal would never accept a blue as their queen and likewise, aequor would much rather not have to deal with any of the reds. so as long as he can, he wants to keep ailey around as a friend. he hopes he won't come to a point when he has to use her, but as the king of hajnal, his kingdom will always be his priority and he really won't hesitate if it comes to it.

does my opinion even ing matter? i told aveline plenty of times my thoughts but she brushes me aside, saying my thoughts on the kingdom are unneccessary and even foolish.

aveline needs to learn to depend on others. she can't rule the kingdom if she has the whole weight of it on her shoulders. if she doesn't rely on someone, she's going to work herself to death before she even changes the kingdom to how she wants it. and stop being a goddamn dictator.

as for the red guy, all i know is that he's aiming to kill my sister. and supposedly he's one of the more reasonable rulers red has had up to date. my stance on him is neutral though because those are only things i've heard of him and i believe it's stupid to judge someone you don't know based off rumors. look at cece for example. i'll never stoop to the level of the people who hurt cece like that.

most ing definitely can. aveline is driving aequor away from the values of our predecessors, our mother. and i'm sure mother would weep with the way things are going on in the kingdom right now.

i really don't know what i will do, it's not something i like to think about. i also have hope that war will never ensue so theres that too. but if the kingdoms were ever in a war, i will fight for aequor if need be. as in there's no others who can, since i should be the last option. i'm not even sure if i can possibly help actually. but caleb would never desert aequor - he'll definitely join the army, and i can't abandon my sisters. something tells me, the original plan to just waste my days away in a neutral ground area is highly unlikely.

maybe if aveline can calm down with all the chopped heads galore and instilling fear into the kingdom, there wouldn't be so many talks about traitors. how can she expect there to be no one looking for a way out of the hell that aveline is slowly building?

aequor's glory will remain for centuries if aveline can think with her heart like our mother taught us.
