Why do we write? 35questions (A q&a turned into an advice corner)

So I got this from cutiehyo_ and since I was bored, I did this. And yes, sometimes I over do things. There are tidbits of advices down there if you want to read!

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?

I made this account for a friend named Ampie, who by the way, liked Domo-kun to the point of buying everything domo-related. But she never got to use it since she got busy with studies and all. Thinking that it would be such a waste to deactivate this account (though it practically contained nothing - account lol), I decided to use this. My original account is a secret shh. But I don't use that anymore, so.

2. Which is your most subscribed story to?

HAHAHA I'm not sure of this since I'm not really particular with subscription number and all. But if it's not Pocket Size, then maybe Customer Satisfaction or Blank Stares?

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

I don't have any? HAHA

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

WELL, I've been good friends with Alecchi for the longest time to the point that we videocall each other from time to time.

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Yes, the MiMoSa stories on Alecchi's A Million in One. (And those stories tbh, are the reason why we became friends.) Also, Scarlet String. Actually there are a lot - most of them are MiChaeng and ChaeYu stories.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

A lot. But I haven't read them all (boooo).

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

I'm more into slice of life and just mindless drabbles. I also find myself writing mind-twisters too.

8. How many friends do you have?

I'm not sure. I don't count friends. Lmao

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave, if so, share it!)

I write what I want to write regardless of genre. If you don't like my stories, so be it. If you judge me for that, so be it.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on aff? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

UPDATING REGULARLY.

11.  How many subscribers do you have?

I don't know, a few thousands maybe?

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

More than 20?

13.  How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

Haven't really counted? (It seems that this q&a made me look like I can't count).

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

It depends on the situation - if it's a carefully thought out story, then I would write it down and map every detail. If it's just a mindless drabble then I'd just keep it inside my head.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yeah I have - but the writer just disappeared out of nowhere and stopped talking to me. Which was sad, because I really treasured that friend.

16.  How did you discover AFF?

I don't really remember.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

Not popular, but just fairly known by some people. I mean there are people who tell me how they're fans of my work. It's nice, really, that your hardwork is being acknowledged. Though not many, but at least there are some and that's enough for me.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

I don't? Hahaha. If I could give them a fandom name I'd say, "Thifomich". A shorter version for 'Thirsty for MiChaeng'.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Elisaexplosive!!!!!! I swear, her works are superb!

20. How many karma points do you have?

Not sure. I don't even know what to do with them! (Aside from changing username, which I have no plans of changing as of date). HAHA

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Write what YOU want to write, and not because people tell you to write this or that. Write not because you want to be well-known and impress others, but because writing gives you self-satisfaction. And to add to that, write because you want to improve!

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

It still depends on the situation. Ideas come and go, so does willingness to write. But it's better to plan the story line first as if you're constructing the framework of a building. Once you've done that, that's the time that you add more flesh to the story. One trick to do this effectively is to edit, edit, and more edit.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I haven't? I get constructive criticisms though, and that's good, because it helps me improve. People should really see the positive sides in every negative comments, rather than wail like a baby because you couldn't handle one unpleasant comment.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Just like what cutiehyo_ answered on this q&a, my weakness is writing . Because you see, writing needs to be carefully planned out and at the same time, you need to be sensitive with which words you should use. Most of the time, writers commit a grave mistake whenever they write - it's either the plot is waaaaay to bland or worse, it doesn't really have a plot. A great fic also needs to have some story in it, not just pure . Because in that way it isn't worth the read.

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

1. First Snow

2. Criminal (working title).

3. Emptiness, Pain and Attempts.

4. Hidden Away

5. Nocturne

6. Nights With You

7. Pocket Size and Maid Café, of course.

26.  Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Yeah, most of the time. But then again, I always delay posting them all becauae I just feel like it.

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Nope. I'm too busy for such thing as of late.

28.  Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Yeah of course! I swear, if you guys read my past works, you wouldn't believe that I wrote them!

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

Pocket Size, of course. It's my baby. (Though, Pocket Size originally wasn't a fanfic).

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

My old stories LOL

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Still writing. Haha

32. How many upvotes do you have?

I don't really know HAHA. Why are people so concious with these kind of stuff.

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

You get to live in a fantasy world, and you control everything. No one can give a about what you want. It's like you get to create different kinds of world, where your favorite couple falls in love with one another again and again and again.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

When the words don't flow as fluidly as you thought it would.

35. Why do you write?

Self-expression of suppressed dreams, and dreams of others too. To live in a place where you control everything, where life actually gives a about you. A world where you know you can be yourself and not be constantly judged by people.
