Seasonal Swirl Writing Contest Entry

Hello everyone. A few months ago, I hit a severe dry spell due to depression and could not write at all. So, on impulse, I joined a writing contest thinking maybe it would help. Seasonal Swirl Writing Contest was very much a great challenge. It provides you with multiple levels and options that will surely drive something out of you. That is what it did for me. This blog is dedicated to promoting the contest as well as serving as my entry form. Thank you

Chocolate Form Questionnaire:

How many stories have you written on AFF? 18, including 1 co-authored story for a total of 19

How many have you completed? All

Groups/Idols/etc you most enjoy/find easiest to write? Shinee and Shinhwa

What kind of plotline do you/did you enjoy writing? I like both sides of the spectrum. Suspense as well as comedy, and everything in-between. I like to either make a reader very anxious or smile like a goofball. I also have a weakness for things very figurative and poetic, which tends to come in the form of angst and romance. It either really hurts or is very fulfilling.

Groups/Idols would you never read/write? A lot lol. I don’t like or keep track of many groups and it’s sort of intimidating to even try with groups I’m not that familiar with. To name a few: EXO, BTS, Seventeen, Girls Generation. Ya know, most of the popular ones lol XD

Your strongest ability when it comes to writing? Characterization, vivid, good use of poetic elements, fluid

Your biggest weakness when it comes to writing? I tend to over-analyze out of pure anxiety, which sometimes can show in the work in the form of repeated points that were already well-established

When you hear the word “iconic”, what fictional scene comes to mind (such as a scene from a movie, show, book, etc)? I think about the infamous Edgar Allan Poe story “The Raven”. How the MC was going mad with despair. How the sound of the tapping at the door haunted him twice as much as his own thoughts. The quote that solidified his insanity and has since gone down in history: “Nevermore”
