everything changed one rainy night. a seventeen year old hyun decided she couldn't do it anymore. she didn't want to be the obedient daughter that her parents made her to be. thoughit was very out of character for hyun, a spark of bravery and determination sparked through her, and she ran away from home in the cover of rain and darkness.
she spent a week wandering the streets of seoul, purposely avoiding the places she knew her parents would think to look for her. as the week closed, hyun was walking through a night market when she encountered a relative. hyun was understandably distressed, thinking that this relative would just give her back to her parents and she would just go back to that life that she so dreaded. she begged and pleaded that she not be sent back to her parents, and miraculously, her relative relented. he even offered her a place to stay for the time being. hyun, running on zero food and was starting to stink from one week of not showering, gratefully accepted.
her parents spent weeks (two months to be exact) trying to look for their only daughter. the search was futile. they were devastated that they weren't able to find their daughter, but they were merely teachers, and they couldn't do much with their meager salary, eventually they had to return to work and try to live past this obstacle. of course, they never did give up. they still try to look for her during weekends when they don't have work, but hyun was smart enough to evade them every time they came close to finding her.
oh, it hasn't been mentioned who exactly hyun's mysterious relative is, and what exactly his relation to hyun is. well, it's kang howon, and he's hyun's second cousin on her mother's side. they lived amicably for a few months before hyun was cast in wonderland entertainment after being "spotted" by one of their agents in a mall. hyun, excited to have more adventures in life, jumped at the chance and auditioned to get in. she got in pretty easily, seeing as she had a decent voice and the company wasn't really picky given its true nature.

hyun is the type of girl you would most likely coddle and protect because of her sheer unadulterated innocence. she was pretty sheltered when she grew up, so it's understandable why she's like this. she doesn't know many of the terrible things in life, which is surprising given how old she is. of course, that wasn't the case anymore. not after what happened in wonderland.

there's so much kindness in the gentle soul that is hyun. she always tries to be nice to everyone. it's the one thing she's thankful that her parents engraved to her life. she likes helping people, and she couldn't bear to hurt anyone.
hyun is the type to cry if you jokingly. yeah, she's that sensitive. she's always been this sensitive, which made her a target of bullying in her primary school days.
she's also very shy, and by shy, i mean she never talks to anyone... every unless prodded onough times. this in particular is a side effect of her isolation in her early years, and the bullying that came immediately after.
she's also what i would call the opposite of stubborn. she's very obedient, hyun is (sorry, yoda possessed me for a moment) you would think that's a good thing, but it eventually proves it isn't. it's like she doesn't have a voice. like she doesn't have an opinion most times. kinda like a wallflower. because of this, she gets trampled over and just ordered around. and she doesn't even have the will to fight. the only time she did try and make a difference was when she

kang howon was the one who took in hyun after she ran away from home. howon could have easily just returned the girl to her parents, but after seeing hyun beg him to keep silent, he found that he couldn't. hyun could be convincing when she actually tried. before they lived with each other, they really weren't close. they only knew each other from seeing each other in a couple of family reunions. after they lived together, they had gotten really close with each other. somehow, howon has made the ever so elusive hyun open up to him, and hyun got comfortable around howon quickly. they spent their free time just chatting around aimlessly about random things. hyun's involvement with wonderland was what pushed howon to accept the case. though his main job is finding park yeonji and apprehending her, his main goal is to find his little cousin. finding hyun has been his motivation, and probably is the reason he hasn't dropped the case yet.

hyun has become unbelievably skilled in most known forms of fighting. They can be exceptionally proficient in the fighting traditions of a variety of cultures and become advanced with her own individual methods of close quarter combat, including martial arts (from all over the world), boxing, and wrestling. she's also superhumanly skilled in their use of weaponry.
it was like a thumb drive containing all forms of martial arts was plugged into hyun, and suddenly, she knows how to move her body that is exactly like any give form of combat. hyun herself doesn't even know that she knows probably all forms of combat. all she knows that her body somehow moves like a master combatant. (yes, it comes to her instinctively, much like her bloodlust)
an insatiable bloodlust had accompanied that power. the instinct to kill. no, not just an instinct. the need to kill. what blood is to vampires is killing to hyun. she needs to kill, or she'll be driven to insanity. like a normal human, she can ignore her bloodlust, but it's so difficult to ignore when her head is chanting "kill", and she can feel her sanity slipping away every day she does not kill. (yes, her kills are mostly animals, insects, etc.)

every single thing must come to an end, and soon enough her pain disappeared. you would think that hyun's suffering had ended, but that's not the case. for three more days, when she slept, nightmares of blood and gore filled her mind. when she would wake, her eyes and cheeks would be soaked with tears of blood, and she wouldn't be able to forget even a single detail in her nightmares.
eventually, her eyes stopped bleeding when she woke up, but the night terrors didn't.
for days on end, whispers of death and murder filled her mind. and as days pass, the whispers grew louder and more persistent. one day, she couldn't take it anymore. her first kill was a nurse who was just bringing in her food. before hyun's mind could register what happened, she had snapped the nurse's neck like it was a twig. clarity filled her head, and she looked at what she's done. hyun's scream of terror had bought the other staff to her cell.
after that, her hands anf feet were bound in chains, until the other six freed her to escape.
